In the episode where Michael gets poisoned, and he just finds out about Walt burning the raft, he tells Walt that they don't have to go. Walt replies (something like) "yes we do". What is everyone's opinion on this? Does it mean that Walt knew that he was going to be taken? or did he just know that it needed to happen to set certain events into action? or did he just feel that it was his destiny?

I think that Walt had a certain idea that something BIG DEAL was going to happen to the survivors that hey had to get off the island. Maybe he was trying to get off because of future events (ie the sickness) or he could want to get off the island because "it was his destiny" to be captured. I've always wondered that myself, eldirion!

This was right after his encounter with Locke. Remember, Locke grabbed his arm. "Don't open that thing Mr. Locke!" "Why?", was Locke's reply. "Just don't open it!"
I think Walt knew something was on the horizon. Not sure what he saw, but he didn't want to be on the island when it came to fruition.

Like hodgepodge says......it's because Walt didn't want to be caught up in the events leading to the opening of the hatch......gosh people!!!!!!!
