Living in the south as I do...people that always say "bless their heart"....referring to someone that they are talking about. What about the rest of them? They are only "blessing their hearts"? Just a figure of speech that annoys me a great deal.

People who worship female race cars drivers.... sorry!!
Now that was just rude! For years all you women have had male race car drivers to fawn over and now we finally start to get some female drivers and it's a problem? Geez, some people. (http://www.danicaracing.com/) :)

To keep thread continuity, people who hate on people who worship female race car drivers. :)

I also hate on people who hate on the people who hate on the people who worship female racing car drivers. Its just wrong.

- People that use the word 'um' or 'like' thirty times in a sentance
- Rude people
- The gay guy at my favorite shoestore who spends too much time looking at himself and not enough time fetching the shoes I want to try on
- The 'Greeters' at Walmart
- Line-ups at the grocery store
- Bank Tellers
- The blonde girl at my gym who wears way too much spandex and jogs jiggle-free beside me
- Breast Implants
- Insane 'celebrities' like Anna Nicole Smith and Paris Hilton....
- My obsession with Febreeze
- Telemarketers who do not want to take no for an answer....
- Bad Drivers

when people try to tell me the same story over and over because they keep forgetting that they already told it to me...especially if it's something I wasn't interested in in the first place

The Swan
11-18-05, 10:05 AM
^ My nan does that, i must have heard her war stories a million times but she always tells them to me!!
She is a bit old and bonkers though so ill excuse it, she makes a mean cup of tea as well

LostOnOahu16
11-18-05, 10:10 AM
^Lol...it's my mom that does it and she's fairly young, so I think she's probably just losing her mind...no biggie.

It's annoying how the clock on my VCR is always slow no matter how many times I fix it.

The Swan

My VCR at home refusing to tape any programs i set. If my mum does it or anyone it works just fine but when i program it NOTHING.

The Swan

I have a mobile phone thats meant to make my life easier, all it does is ring in the early hours of the morning or turn itself of when i actually need to make a call!!
I have like 200 tv channels, theres never anything good on.
I have a washer/dryer combo that washes things i want dry and dries the things i want washing!!!

MJB,
I have never understood this either. What, no one else has ever sinned? Other people's hearts don't need that much churchin'? What in the world.

Oh yeah, my thing that annoys me. All you have to do is look on any of the episode threads started each week (example, look on this page...
http://www.losttv-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10305&page=37) and scroll down about halfway.

People, this is a forum to express whatever theories, speculations, answers, etc. IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE FUN. I am starting to think people just want to fight. We all want to be the first one to find something, discover a clue, or rant about an episode. The mods can only control so much. All I am saying is that we all will not agree on everything, but be civil to one anyone. I am just waiting for someone to drop the F-bomb soon. Guess what I will be doing....

Sorry if I pissed off someone. Seems like it happens everyday now.

The thing that annoys me the most lately is the answer my 11 year old give me for everything. Imagine this....instead of saying "I don't know", he shrugs his shoulds and mumbles something that sounds vaguely like "I don't know", but it all uhduhno. It irritates the life out of me!

also: people who don't take responsibility for their actions
drivers on cell phones not using hands free
when my phone rings at work just before I'm about to leave for the day
the sound of a dog throwing up at 3 am

having to go to work the next day & the $457 vet bill because the dog ate

That is um like totally me.

people who yell at cashiers at stores in front of you. You morons, don't you know you are only slowing down the process and these people make like 5.15 a hour and 99.9% of the time, what you are yelling at them for they can not help. I always tell them I am sorry for the person in front of me when I get up there.

It was something about reading my posts at work and having her pic on the screen while they are at work. The pic comes from a GQ magazine. They sell GQ magazines at Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart can't be evil. Can they?

Anyways, if people don't like looking at other's signatures, there is an option in "edit options" to turn off all signatures. This is what it says in "edit options": "You have the option to show or hide various elements of messages, which may be of use to users on slow internet connections, or who want to remove extraneous clutter from posts."

My list has (mostly) to do with my line of work...

Liars--Everyone does it when I stop them, be they teenager, mom, dad, grandfather, grandmother. One of these days I'll find someone who tells the truth but as of now, I ain't holding my breath...cynical, I know...

Lack of respect--I've got more important things to do than stop someone for speeding. Word of advice--if you get stopped, be courteous, have your paperwork ready and in order and don't get an attitude. Attitudes are the surest way to make me take copious amounts of notes about the stopped person and the surest way not to have me knock the charge down in court. (Oh and the old "I'll see you in court!" is another way to make me think twice about giving you a break. You see, I get paid time and a half, sometimes double time, to show up in court. In nearly 2 decades of law enforcement I've never missed a court day assignment. My conviction rate is around 90% and that's because I'm a stickler for detail. I've even taken to dividing my citations into three separate files--green you get a break, yellow maybe, and red, reserved for those with attitudes, reckless drivers and drunk drivers. The red filers get no break whatsover...

Know it alls--Don't try to tell me what the traffic laws are. I've got them momorized and if it's something new, I've got a book in the trunk of my car telling me what those are. A recent one was a high schooler with his hopped up Honda, doing 88 MPH in a 25 MPH zone. Immediate attitude when I pulled him over, improper equipment out the wazoo, not carrying his license with him and no insurance. Ran his history and it comes back with 5 and a half pages of traffic offenses. Somehow he still had his license, even with 22 points on it. I write the reckless ticket, start on the improper equipment when he starts telling me the stuff is legal. It may be legal in California but it ain't here. He tells me he bought it at a local speed shop which means it's legal. I tell him it's not and then try to make him understand that just because you can buy it and put it on your car, doesn't make it legal, at least in this state. End of story, the car gets towed to impound due for no insurance, he gets a half dozen tickets thereby guaranteeing he'll be license-less. His words? I'll see you in court a--h---. Yes, he will...

Non-drivers--You've seen them, the ones who incessantly blather on their cell-phones, put on their eyeliner, even read the morning paper while behind the wheel. The other ones who get me are the ones who think the 25 MPH speed limit on neighborhood streets are for everyone but them. I was working a recent traffic detail for an event and we were having people slow down because of lot's of pedestrians. A black BMW 3 series with an immaculately dressed youg woman comes roaring up the street, nearly runs down 2 peds. I stop her a little further on after clocking her on radar doing 66 MPH. The first words out of her mouth? "Don't you have anything better to do than hassle me?" My answer? "No, not at the moment. License, registration and proof of insurance. Please." I write her for reckless driving and when the check comes back, I find she's using a fraudulent insurance card because the state records say she doesn't have any. It's gone from a reckless charge to a felony and in this state that gets you a ride to the processing center with the silver bracelets on. I tell het his and she gets PISSED, calls me every name in the book. I call for another unit, arrest her, put her in the back of the car and order a tow truck for impound. She goes to jail. Yesterday I got served papers by her. The papers say I verbally harangued her on the way to jail but I have 27 minutes of in car video with sound that shows I didn't say a word to her. The papers say she'll see me in court. Yep...

People that drive "the speed limit" in the left lane. OK - 420 mile (one way) road trip this past weekend. Sunday night, on I-95, idiots in the left lane going 65, in a 65....and then also those in the right lane going 60 to 65. Don't they know that the left lane is for passing or those going a bit faster? I'm not saying that you need to go 90....but this is just annoying!
And tell me WHY idiots (and there were a LOT of them this weekend) would do 55 to 60 on I-95 in North Carolina....where the speed limit is 70???? AND they were blocking both lanes!

OK - finished rant. Just really annoys me, that is all.

I've written a number of citations over the years to people either hogging the left lane (it's supposed to be for overtaking and passing, not to plunk your car into and stay there for 400 miles) or those doing less than the posted limit...most of the time their reactions are "You're giving me a ticket for going too slow?!" I just look at them and say didn't you see the five miles of cars blocked up behind you and the irate drivers passing you in the right hand lane?

I just wish more highway patrol officers, troopers and deputies did the same...

(And while I can come off as a hard ass, I usually allow 10 MPH on the high side when I'm working the Interstate. If the posted limit is 70, 80--as long as the speed is safe--won't get the blue light special. 85 and we'll talk. 125 like the Chrsler minivan with Quebec tags last night in the pouring rain who feigned not understanding English will get you a friendly ride in the back seat to the magistrate's office where the bailiff speaks fluent French, German, Italian and Greek. Cost the driver $990.00, six points on his license and a baleful glare from the better half that was priceless...)

I'm glad that you understand! It is just so annoying! These people don't "get it". The right lane is for regular driving and the left lane is for passing. Geesh! I wish more troopers/sheriffs/police would pull them over. They are actually a hazard on the road...and one of the prime reasons for road rage.

TV shows that start 1 minute BEFORE the hour. And traffic reporters on the news who get onscreen time. I really don't care to see their mugshots in the morning - the anchors are paid to be eye candy, apparently the same rule doesn't apply to traffic-types.

Believe me, I do understand. Here of late, I hate driving anywhere in my personal car because of the plain old incompetence out there on the roads(and the fact that traffic is horrendous). I carry a portable 2 way radio with me so if I see anything too egregious I can get on the radio to Central Dispatch and have them send a trooper or deputy my way. I've stopped a couple fights and arrested 2 drivers who shot at one another for totally dumb stuff (one cut off the other by accident and it devolved)...

So, when's the book coming out? Huh? :) Just kidding, thought I'd throw that out there.

Yeah, I know what you mean about the 2 way radio, my uncle does the same thing as do most all police I know. I'm sure you've seen an increase in road rage incidents in the past dozen or so years. Some people just have no patience (I'm one of them) but I'd never go that far. I might yell at my steering wheel or their rear license plate but that's about it.

Nope. I did leave him a very DETAILED msg. at the help desk. I don't think he can help me.

The Help Forum that Annais gave me a link for finally responded last night and thought I should try to uninstall my firewall and well, it's a long story but suffice it to say...nothing they offered up helped at all. I'm waiting for any other advice they may have but I really have just grown tired of it all. It seems that once I finally get into chat I would only be disappointed because I've built it up so much. Does that make ANY sense?

I will just have to be content to be the best little post whore I can be. And I'm very happy that so many people have tried to help me or at least given words of encouragement. I love you guys! *sniff* :awwhug:

Annoyance? The bus I get home after work every night, doesn't matter what shift I'm on, there is ALWAYS a nutter on it. Today's was very vocal telling everyone to "Effing sit down and shut it" because that would make the bus go faster. It was a red light. :/

Also, I am incredibly annoyed by when you are in a supermarket, and they start putting your things through the til when the other person is still packing, therefore rushing them, and you, and then you again when they start to puth someones else's things through when you're still packing. Grr!

Every once in awhile tempers flare on the boards. People get angry over stupid (or not so stupid) points of plot, or grammar, or political affiliation, or shoe size, or that time I accidentally ran over your dog twice.

We're all friends here. We shouldn't argue and bicker and mudsling.

But, by the same token, sometimes you just gotta vent.

I thought it might be a good idea- and I know things of this sort have been done before- to create a little corner where everybody can let off some steam and complain about those stupid things people do or say that just p*ss you off. So I present you all, dear friends, with this, the Delicious Hatred thread, wherein you can rant and rave to your heart's content about things people say on this forum that just burn your little bottoms. Don't name any names or waggle any fingers, now; this isn't about namecalling, it's just about whining.

I hate when people have conversations with each other in the middle of other peoples threads. Especially the main episode thread.
It's been bugging me for awhile so I love this thread for allowing me to say it before I blew up at someone specific over whats bothering me about quite a few.

A side note... I am probably the only one who feels this way, (and no one probably cares what I think anyways) but I am losing respect for some posters here that I used to adore reading their thoughts. Why? Because ever since the move to this board, they seem to be more about post count than substance in what they write.

While the new laid back vibe of this board is nice... I sometimes miss the more rigidly defined aura the ez board had. Especially when it comes to what I mentioned above. Mods.... take back control of the boards please.

While the new laid back vibe of this board is nice... I sometimes miss the more rigidly defined aura the ez board had. Especially when it comes to what I mentioned above. Mods.... take back control of the boards please.

(Let me start by saying that I know you're not referring to respecting anything I've posted!)

But as for post counts.........they came up the other day in another thread in here. I actually said that my post count should have a foot note saying...'Meaningful post count = 20'....because that would be a true reflection of my actual contribution to the board!

I'm still on Season 1 here, so I can't really contribute with current debates in G&D T&S etc. So I mainly post here in Lostaways in the games threads etc (which really pushes up your post count). It's fun and I've got to know lots of other posters. I honestly wouldn't mind if posts in here didn't count towards your total count.

I just thought I'd share that with you!
