sounds like the movie "Wrong Turn"

It looks semi-good.

I agree bhambulldog the premise does seem like Wrong Turn but this is a remake of a film from the 1970s.

I remember the first "Hills", I think it had that weird actor that looked like the singer from Midnight Oil.

"Wrong Turn" was kind of like the original "Hills", except for terrible. Anyway, I doubt if I'll go see this but I'll definatly put it on my Netflix list.

This is the guy you are referring to:
Didn't he make a brief appearance in weird science also?

I saw a commercial for it the other night. I'm not really into scary movies, but I would totally go see it cause of Emilie. If I get a chance I will.

I just watched High Tension. Supposedly, after Wes Craven saw High Tension, he gave the filmmakers a carte blanche to remake his movie, The Hills Have Eyes.

If The Hills Have Eyes is anywhere NEAR as graphic, gory, tense and stylish as High Tension, I'll probably enjoy it a lot.

I love horror movies but I thought the ending ruined High Tension. I have seen about 4 movies with that same type of ending in the last 3 years. I would mention the other movie examples but it would spoil the ending for people that haven't seen High Tension. All the blood and gore didn't matter because of that crappy ending. My horror movie of the month is Saw 2. I saw that last week and loved it.

I watched Saw 2 in the same sitting, and liked it, but I think it suffered from its ending as well. I also think the movie suffered from getting so much hype. I also don't think that all the deaths were as symbolic in Saw 2 as in Saw.

As for High Tension ... well, it's a French movie.

Maybe I should start a Horror Movie thread in Lostaways.

Yeah, Saw 2 suffered from sequelitis but it was still better than many of the current horror stuff. And yes, you should start a horror movie thread. Hopefully they won't merge it to some old movie thread.

I hope so too. It would be ludicrous, kind of like if they merged a Jessica Alba thread into the Hottest Girls thread. Sure, same category, but honestly it deserves a thread of its own.

Hahahahaha! :rotfl:

Anyway, I'm looking forward to this. I heard about it but I didn't know Emilie was in it. I think I'll go see it. Hopefully it won't turn out to be like "The Fog" and sound exciting but then turn out to suck.

Anyone know what it's rated?

DohBoy
02-23-06, 01:42 AM
"Rated R for strong gruesome violence and terror throughout, and for language."

I hate blood and gore and all that fun stuff. It's disguisting. I guess it adds to the movie for some people but it ruins it for me. But I'm going to see The Hills Have Eyes just for Emilie

sorry if this has been talked about already, but i saw some preveiws for the hills have eyes, and I noticed that Emilie De Raven will be a main charecter in the movie. If this movie wasnt filmed recently, then if they wanted to kill of clair it would have happend already. does anyone know how long they film lost before it airs? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0454841/

I dont see why they would kill claire, with the baby and all.
but now i think its possible

It comes out tomorrow, I think. And as far as I know, she plays a supporting role. Also, I wouldn't consider this a spoiler.

nobody seems to care.

Why didn't you just post this in Emilie de Ravin's forum??

03-10-06, 02:15 AM
I think the reasoning, here, was that since Emilie is in this movie, then it could mean she has been freed from her duties on 'Lost.' Thus the possible spoiler of her being written off the show.

But they probably shot this movie during a hiatus, plus remember she wasn't around much for several episodes. I think 'Lost' is barely getting their shows in. I know that they shot the next episode after the Golden Globes (which was in January). With post production in consideration, they're probably just getting around to making some of the episodes from April.

oh my god just because someone is on lost and then shoots a movie does not mean that they are going to be killed off!

in fact to a degree actors are most likely encouraged to pursue acting in a film during Lost hiatus (filming hiatus, which really only happens during the summer, not episode airing hiatus)

the reason these rumors got started is because some overenthusiastic people misunderstood the Maggie grace rumor of being killed off because she was cast in X-3 well she wasn't killed off because she did X-3 in fact she didn't do X-3 at all. she did however audition for a role on the upcoming X-Men movie because she already knew that her character would be killed off in season 2, so she was, as any other bright actor would... looking for her next gig.

the two things are not linked at all. actors can do as many movies as they want as long as it doesn't compete with their Lost shooting schedule.

uh, they dont know ahead of time like that when they will get killed off. At any time they could get a call telling them that their charecter is going to die. They get very short notice.

That could explain the innocuous picture that is going around that everyone thinks is from lost...it could of been from her movie and placed accidently.

I wanna watch this movie. The only other thing I've seen Emilie in is Roswell High...am I the only one who thinks it weird that she ended that series at the beginning of a pregnancy and started Lost at the end of one?

That's the guy! I don't rememeber him in Weird Science, but I haven't seen that in years (I loved it "back in the day") but he was in Motley Crue's video "Smokin in the Boys Room".

I saw The Hills Have Eyes last night and thought that it was pretty good. Not the greatest horror movie ever but tense enough to keep me interested. The funny thing is that the "muntant" bad guys in this movie were kind of what I had expected The Others on Lost to look like.

She's on the poster for 'The Hills Have Eyes' at my local cinema; it's just her face, being grabbed and it looks just like the moment when Ethan tries to inject her in 'Raised By Another'. I'm not old enough to see it D:

I thought the movie was very good. Kept me scared. I just thought one of the parts was a little strange.

It's rated R for language, violence and terror throughout. It was originally supposed to be rated NC-17 but they cut quite a few parts out.

Who would win in a fight: Bad Robot or Stoopid Monkey?

The Central Scrutinizer
06-29-06, 10:47 PM
Locke PU, that's a good question. I guess it depends on what kind of fight it is.
If it's an artistic battle of music and visuals, Bad Robot takes the cake. (not to take anything away from the Monkey guys...I'm sure the stopmotion animation they do is some hard work, but the music of Giacchino raises Bad Robot to a high level of Art)

But if it's a mean-spirited grudge match with fluids flying from every bodily orifice, cheap shots, nut shots, gun shots, and decapitations complete with twitching corpses, Stoopid Monkey takes home the gold.

LPU

My only concern is Bad Robot recruiting the polar bears from craphole island. I'm sure you saw what those three bears did to the poo-flinging monkey recently.
