I find that it's time to post the following, which I have been saving for just such an occasion:

Sometimes I think that this little community we've created here is very much like my "dream" community. I've come to shun the hustle bustle, the commuting, the traveling, that makes up so much of our lives.

I fantasize that a perfect community would be comparatively small, with everyone contributing by doing what they liked and did well. People would know one another, have time to chat, and share things. And that is what happens here. Maybe this is the new Utopia - but that's for another thread.

Now ya know, I'm just an old gal letting a sunny winter morning turn me a little too sentimental.

Since this will be my 100th post, I wanted to make it here in the BBR, where I've been made to feel welcome and part of a great community. I've enjoyed my time in the forum in general. And since I took the advice of the mods (and mini-labs) to read extensively before posting, I feel like I've known many of you for a long time. I think I lurked at least a month before I posted.

So, thanks and blessings to all of you. On that note, I think we should all have a Samuel L Jackson Beer on me. A toast to all here - May you live as long as you want to, and may you want to as long as you live.

Sorry if this is stupid question. I've searched for "webmaze" on the site, and get back a lot of posts talking about "webmazes", but I haven't been able to piece together what EXACTLY a "webmaze" is??

Judging by the sticky in this forum, it appears to be what it sounds like: a series of seemingly connected websites "out there" on the web (purposely put out there by Lost affiliates to lead us around). Some lead to dead-ends (just like a maze), and some bring us closer to the truth. I assume it's not "Lost" lingo - there are other webmazes out there that I've found dealing with a variety of topics - many of them conspiracies.

However, there is also a SINGLE site out there called webmaze.com, where there's a range of forums discussing a variety of topics. Not sure how this fits in...

The reason I ask is that most of the major "Theories and Speculation" posts mention "This is not a webmaze!" or some such thing. I assume they're trying to say that the information they found is not purposely put out there by "Lost" affiliates - IE: that the information/theory is not affiliated with Lost specifically.

Anyway, I just want to clear this up. Am I close the money on this? Are there key components to this concept that I'm missing?

As far as the "maze" part of it, you got it right on.
Concerning the Theories and Speculation forum, there are some folks who choose to disregard information gathered from the webmaze, looking upon it as false information, irrelevant to the show.
You decide for yourself what to believe and what not to, but in my opinion, the info we're gathering here is "good" and will payoff in the end.

ETA - I too have heard of other Alternate Reality Games (ARG). There was one for the movies A.I. and the Matrix, as well as most recently for the book The DaVinci Code.

That was fun watching the rerun last night. A very enjoyable episode, I had almost forgotten that this show can be quite funny when the writers feel like it. I am usually watching so intently for clues and easter eggs that I can't see the forest for the trees. In fact, when the house was on fire I thought to myself "wow, that smoke coming out the window looks just like Smokey. Need to get a screencap." WTF?

Hurley also has some of the most natural dialogue I have seen on any show, he speaks the way real people speak to each other.

Unlike ILE, I do hold strong religious values that do not agree with your post, raider. But I can't say that I took offense because everyone is entitled to make up his or her own mind on religious matters. You did not condemn my God or me, but merely stated a viewpoint that you hold/are considering. Why would I bash you for that?

I don't know why others didn't respond, but these would be among my reasons.

1. I don't think I could adequately respond without what some would consider "Bible-thumping" and I don't think most people came here to get a sermon.

2. I also don't think I could adequately respond without being very, very wordy. ( Despite what my post count may suggest, I can really get to talking. I'm shy about getting started, but wait until you get me going!) Your statement is more of a broad philosophical nature and I don't think philosphy can be discussed without getting wordy.

3. It could easily turn into a religion argument. I was raised in the Bible Belt and heard way too many people argue religion when I was growing up. Usually no one "wins" -- no one's mind is changed -- just blood pressures are raised.

Anyway on the line of the game (and not breaking the truce here):

Aggie, I would like to propose a bet to you. Penelope and I are willing (and maybe Lisa is too, I haven't had a chance to ask her) to make this bet if you'd like to take it.

If the Steelers win the Superbowl, you have to wear the Steelers Logo as your avatar for a week. If the Seahawks win, Penelope and I (and Lisa if she wants in) will wear the Seahawks Logo for a week.

What do you say?
