This board -- Lost-tv-forum -- is a fan owned and operated site I believe. People who really love Lost are doing this for us.

The official message board sponsored by ABC is the Fuselage.

BBS1 is a separate entity, we believe hired by TPTB. They don't have a lost message board that I'm aware of. They did have the chat at BSS1, but now that is down. And they are responsible for many of the webmaze websites.

No, that is not what I meant. The person who told me that what I posted had already been discussed in another thread, simply said that. I had no idea that OWA things were discussed in non OWA threads so in my defense, he/she told me after the fact and none of the things I posted where in the OWA thread.

Sweet - The older stuff is a bit more confusing for OWA. We have it in two older threads, the links are on page 1 of the current thread. Plus OWA used to have its own message board. That board is closed, but you can still read the archives. EVERYBODY, let me repeat, EVERYBODY will miss things because of it. Some will get scolded, like you did, even if it's not your fault. The new thread, which will be a month old tomorrow and is already 457 pages long, was our attempt at trying to get a handle on the confusion. With the explosion of posts because of new people finding the combined threads and Flight 213 taking off Monday doesn't make it easy, and with so many new people it's easy to get confused as to who is trying and who wants the work done for them. You have made a lot of posts so you were an easy target, but I don't think they really meant the harshness for you. I don't know who it was but I apologize in their behalf. I've been all piss and vinegar today so that should mean something.

dionysus, we were discussing where we live. The yard was full of frogs this summer. We've experienced various bugs, too. But we've not had any problem with flooding. The frost heaves in the roads are something else, but I'll take that over flooding.

lab, hi back at you. I don't know what I'm doing still up. We taped CSI to watch after all the kids were in bed and just finished watching it a few minutes ago. I'm squeemish and it was pretty gruesome this week. I'm going to have to pry myself away from this computer if I'm to have any hope of not being a grouchy ogre in the morning.

I honestly can understand that there are those who don't want to know any webmaze information. I personally think they are missing out on a lot of fun, but that's their right. (I do think the folks who won't even watch the "next week on LOST" previews are taking things to the extreme, but hey... different strokes for different folks.)

I don't understand the new forum though, and I find the name offensive. BTW, I don't think Homer Noodleman actually made the new forum. I don't know about V Bulletin, but on ezboards only Admins can do things like that. Mods cannot. I would guess that's true across most message boards.

I personally think that LIW has the best solution. Let webmaze theories (or theories that reference the webmaze) be in T & S, but require them to have spoiler tags so the purists can stay out. That seems fair to me. Making a separate T&S forum for webmazers kind of makes us seem like second class citizens, in my opinion. And since TPTB have acknowledged that they are behind some of the webmaze, it's not like fan fic is making it's way into T&S.

I am personally excited about being involved in what is probably a new entertainment beginning. I think this will happen more and more in the future. And I love the new information I'm learning, the fun I'm having, and the friends I'm making.

I understand what you're saying about the webmaze Jeannie but here's why I think it should remain in its own forum:

1. It seems that in T&S there are too many people opposed, dismissive or in some other way negatively opinionated about the webmaze. Why put a structure in place that accomplishes nothing but raising their ire further and generating needless back and forth in-fighting between Lost fans over something that is, ultimately, just a game?

2. When Damon appeared in the borkchat, after some interrogation, he explained that the webmaze/ARG is a storyline that will use a lot of the Lost-related "facts" that will never make it into the show. A good comparison for this (and it's good because it's mine :D) is the CBS show CSI. There is CSI, CSI: Miami and CSI: New York. All follow the same basic theme and yet tell their stories with hardly any interaction between them at all and can be viewed independently of each other. Therefore what is discussed in the webmaze as theories are theories related to the Lost: Silent Epiphanies storyline, not the Lost: Flight 815 storyline. Occasionally A CLUE!!! may come up that is relevant to both (Widmore Construction, Alvar Hanso and Walt for example) but that relevance is different for both storylines.

And therein, I think, lies the problem: When Lost:815 T&S and Lost:SE T&S are in the same forum, people start becoming confused over what theories and "facts" relate to which storyline. Not only that but people also start trying to make connections between the two storylines and theories start coming out that try to intertwine the two and that just adds to the confusion because they shouldn't intertwine... at least not in any way that isn't implicit in one storyline or the other.


And that, in 500 words or less, is why I think it's necessary for the webmaze stuff to be separated from the Lost:815 T&S.

I can understand it too, but at the same time, I know that it really prevented me from finding out about the webmaze until a very short while ago. Hearing someone comment elsewhere on here that they were going back to the webmaze was really frustrating to me, because I had no clue what it was about. I pretty much found out about it almost by accident, and definitely not through the Lost Spin-Off category (which wasn't one of the places I'd been lurking in, on here).

Oh well, at least I've found it now ;)

I like, no LOVE, our little group and forum here. I have almost 600 posts, and all but maybe 20 of them are right here. I'm not going anywhere, and I absolutely believe that discussion of the sites on the maze should all be kept right here.

I hate how some of the people who aren't involved in the maze tear us apart too. I'm talking about what really is currently ONE thread in T & S. I'm not sure that it will ever affect many theories. But I do think that yung has a great theory, that it is 99% no webmaze, and that those who don't follow the webmaze but aren't purists deserve to see it. And most of those folks would never go into the A-MAZE-ING forum to find it.

Oh well, the reality is that it's a decision that the admins (and ultimately the owner) of the board has to make. We're here as the owner's guests, more or less, and we have to accept that decision.

I'll be fine with it whichever way it comes out, because I'm happy here with our little group. But I do feel bad for yung, whose theory has come under attack because it referenced (not was based on, but referenced) webmaze material.

And now I'll step off that particular soapbox.

I'm hoping VM gives me some miles for my post about the book Locke was reading. Of course I posted it on OWA when it was really about Wed. episode of Lost but it was about the coincidence or the fate of that soldier that wasn't killed by his captives but killed himself accidentally with the same noose.

Hi Lisa - funny thing is that I've never responded to a nOOb but am technically one myself - just like to post while I'm at work. I've never repsonded to a newbies post about not reading threads or being too lazy. Hi all. Glad to see things are a bit slow with SE getting started. I borked a lot over the last two days and now I have a lot of work to do before COB today.

I have not read OWA for a week! I think I will make it my weekend project to read it and try and get caught up before the flight leaves on Monday. By Sunday, I will either be ready for travel or catatonic.

we recently relocated and during the summer one of my cats came in. they are always catching vermin and things like cats do. this one was just a year old and i think missing a few instincts. we also live in an area when the plaques hit, this would be # 4 of the plagues, we get peepers. little frogs with tiny suction webbed feet. right out of a harry potter book . they are small and hide all day. so there are many of then depending on plague #2, mosquitoes.

well this cat came in while i was making dinner and immediately started to throw something up. as grossed out as i was i had to clean it up to make dinner. when i did, i realized he ate a peeper frog. they are poisonous to cats, why they throw them up.

FLIGHT 213: During the past few weeks we haven’t been given many updates from Vincent. The flight leaves from LAX at 2:13 on Feb 13 with a total of 9 stops. We aren’t exactly sure what the ultimate goal of the flight is. At each stop there will be hints on the website that will lead people to a clue that will be found in the real world as well as some other clues that will relate to the flight and/or LOST. The real world clue that is found will apparently hint us to where the next stop of the flight will be. The people that find the real clue will be given automatic gold status.
MYSTERIOUS PASSENGERS: Vincent has told us to watch 6 specific passengers very carefully. They are all located in the Business Class section of the plane and they simply appeared on the seating chart (to find seating chart, see below). I believe these 6 passengers have been identified as: Sandia, E. Westhead, Sol Lewitt, Les Andelys, Andere and A. Vandelay. Please refer to Kathaclysms recap for info on these names. And as you will see below, these passengers have already been used as hints to help us answer clues on flight 213.
A new poster to the forums, Schaduwen has popped his head up a few times as well, and may or may not be part of Vincents team. (search schaduwen) A lot has been discussed about the meaning of his name, and he seems important for our journey. He also enjoys waxing philosophical, and has become a featured poster when he shows up. Go check it out!
THE FIRST STOP:
If you take a look at the flight schedule page on OWA you will see there is information for flight 213. There are 4 links found on the 213 line:
“213”---links to a piece of artwork labeled 213_1 (search 213_1) which has been found to be this piece of work http://www.dfwairport.com/cdp/art/artists/images/Lewitt2008.jpg (http://www.dfwairport.com/cdp/art/artists/images/Lewitt2008.jpg) that is located in Dallas Fort Worth and was created by Sol Lewitt, also a mystery passenger. It was determined that the name Alex could be found in the painting. Pretty cool stuff, good puzzle, and good find! We don’t know if this was the endgame of Vincents question “Where is Alex”
“213 ???” under To----links to another page labeled alexcode (search alexcode). There are three pictures on that page and some longitude/latitude coordinates that were added over the course of a few days. The conclusion of these hints so far is that they were pointing us to Dallas Fort Worth airport again, in particular Terminal D. The coordinates, when plugged into Google Earth point to a more pinpointed section of the area shown in the first picture. We haven’t yet determined what exactly the pinpointed area is….this is currently being worked on. The second picture is a screencap of Tom/Kate’s plane from Lost. Miles were given out for determining this was a DC-3. The third pic is a fictitious sign showing an OWA gate “DFW gate UL-D20”.

A few people have found some interesting things regarding the name Miri, but as far as I know nothing that has gotten miles (search Miri). ARALAI.com Under flight 165 on the flight schedule page the word FUN links to Aralai.com/fun This was recently updated to add the polar bear section which also links to a website with a full discussion on polar bears. I don’t think many miles have been earned discussing this, but attempts have been made. (search aralai, polar bears)
AN OCCURANCE AT OWL CREEK BRIDGE Just today (2/10) a new link was found under flight “816 Mon” The link is to the story AOAOCB which was referenced on this weeks LOST.

Snakey, One tiny mention of snow around here(D.C. area), and the Food Lion is packed! Yesterday, people were already guessing we were getting 2-3 ft.
LOL. I like the snow the first day, then I'm ready for it to melt(unless I'm snowboarding). Gets ugly so fast.

I didn't participate in the original BSS1, but I've been in Bork chat quite a bit lately, and I've really liked that! Everyone is very friendly and I'm slowly catching up. So I sent my email to Valentine last night, and I can't wait for the new game to begin.

I'd read at least a bit of the old thread, maybe even starting towards the back for the most recent stuff just to get an idea of what is going on with the game. Then it will be easier for you to make your decision, I think. Or come Bork with us, and I bet you'll be ready to jump right in.

Dionysus, try having someone give you a different link. The first link I saved to Bork chat I can't use. I freeze every single time. I tried a different one and so far so good.

lostagain, first of all let me say thanks for the OWA post. You saved my weekend!

As far as Silent Epiphanies (the ARG) goes, the short answer is yes, it is a new game. The longer answer is well, it's sort of a new game. All of the BSS1 madness over the past weeks was sort of a test phase as TPTB tried out some things in preparation for launch of the full ARG. So the game will probably tap into some of the things established in BSS1. But, this is the perfect time for you to jump into that, as we are all entering phase 2 together and starting from basically the same point. truff, aggie, anyone feel free to jump in here and correct or clarify.

With that said, it might be helpful for someone to put together a brief summary of where we are leaving BSS1, a brief backstory on the major characters and the assumptions we're taking with us into the game. I am not going to volunteer for this task because I am hardly the most qualified. Truffula, perhaps this would be something you could include in the final post before the thread is locked?

aside to trailgoat: I am not far from you, in Baltimore. Thank god I am fully stocked up on bread, milk and toilet paper so I don't have to go to the Giant tonight. (OK, I have neither bread nor milk, but I do have TP and sauvignon blanc, which is all I really need. ;) ) I have a speaking engagement tomorrow morning and they are already talking about canceling it even though we have not seen a single flake yet. Grrr! I want my honorarium!

ETA: VA, It's silly isn't it. I moved to NoVA from northern CA, where I lived at 2500' in the middle of the mountains. No one would even bat an eye there at 3-6 feet of snow. It wasn't uncommon to be stranded from the big town (population 3500), for a week.
