It's pretty freaky though, and I'm not very happy right now. I feel violated, I barely slept last night, and I hate the idea of going to work today and leaving the house alone.

Pen, tiki and I went into the "postwhore" thread in Lostaways yesterday, a comment was made about Spin-Offers invading, and super went in too.

Between that, and the "we need to discuss" thread, it just proves that we are the best bunch of people on these forums.

Of course, not everyone "upstairs" is like that, there are some great people there... yesterday was the only reaction I've had directed towards me (and tiki).

Anyways.....Henry is definitely an "Other" in my book......I knew it was Kates Dad right away. I am sure it was him.....and his unit patch in Iraq was for the 1st Infantry Division or "Big Red One" which is based in Fort Riley, Kansas , and since we know Kate spent at least some time in Kansas, we can include 90-91 (Gulf War 1) in that time frame.

Truff, Uncle Henry was one of the few characters who didn't turn into someone else in the movie. He was just Uncle Henry and Auntie Em was just Auntie Em. The three farmhands turned into the lion, scarcrow and tinman; and the professor turned into the wizard, and the doorman, and I think one other character. Miss Gulch turned into the wicked witch.

(Good grief, the things I remember. I did laugh because not Uncle Henry, but the wizard ended up in Oz because his hot air balloon crashed there after taking off from a state fair.)

I saw some of the threads about the picture of Kate. I cheat to find out who is who. I always read the TV GUIDE's description, of course it tells who is starring (regulars) and guest starring..then I look up that persons name on IMDB (usually) and find out where we've seen him before. I believe I did that with the actor playing Zeke. In TV GUIDE for the week w/ the episode that Zeke confronted our beloved survivors, it has said MC Gainey was guest starring. When I did a search I found that he was in a few episodes, listed as the bearded man. I forgot the actor who plays Kate's dad, Lindsey something or Lindsay is his last name but either way, that is how I can figure out who is who. :Booky:

I am probably really SLOW and behind with this but did you guys know that Locke's Mom was in Santa Rosa w/ Hurley and Leanord? TV GUIDE (this week) had a nice big article on the connections and that was the only one I didn't know. :D

Anyways...Truff....this topic links very nicely with one of Vincent Madisons favored words synchronicity. In Floyd fandom, well, actually just outside the mainstream floyd fandom...the argument rages on about the synchronicity of the Dark Side/Wizard of Oz thing. A lot of people are positive that the band was making a soundtrack to go along with the movie....they point to more than several incredibly coincidental instances where the music and many times the words in the music coincide with the characters and actions in the movie. Then there are those on the other side that point out how it would be nearly impossible to make any album, let alone an album as mind blowing as DSOTM, while constrained to playing to the movie. I gotta say, it is pretty astonishing to watch, but i think it is merely coincidence....however, if any band could pull it off, it would be The Floyd.

ETA: Reposting from jan 25th: A classic sidenote....So I am slowly letting my fiance in on my new fascination here.... She is somewhat obsessed with the show (thank god) so she understands that I come here to catch up on the latest theories etc. As we were going to sleep last night, i picked up the copy of the dark tower I have on the nightstand and told her how it is strangely coincidental timing that I am simultaneously reading the DT series and getting into Lost because as many people here have mentioned, there are some striking similarities.
