VeeAye - are you here? I saw you a minute ago. Just wanted you to know that I turned up "Saturday Night" and sang on the way into town today; in your honor, of course.

Why, thank you, Rose! My friends and I spent many long hours obsessing over the Bay City Rollers (and Andy Gibb and KC and the Sunshine Band and ....) Ahhhh, those carefree days of youth when our biggest problems were which one of us would get to marry Les and whether or not I had enough money to buy the Teen Beat with the poster of KC with no shirt!

ETA: that was not for you, V! I just always think of that. My sister-in-law says that when she's surprised. Yes, I rocked on in my little car - did you proud.

I think there were both. And one called 16 if I remember right. We would trade pictures boys would trade baseball cards. Sometimes we would each tack a picture of our "husbands" to a porch pillar and smooch them. My poor little brother tagged around with us -- I don't know what he thought. One day two of my friends convinced him to let them cut his hair like Woody of the Bay City Rollers. Luckily, I stopped it before there was any noticable hair loss. My mom would have had a fit!

That is so my childhood without the little brother. I always had younger cousins tagging around. I NEVER traded pictures though. I liked them too much! lol

Jaimie,

We had a rule that we had to wear plaid whenever we watched the Rollers on tv. Once we were all scurrying around trying to find something and we ended up tying plaid shoe laces to our pony tails.

I just knew that some of the Mazers dont venture into GD, let alone older threads, AND I really wanted to make up for the "pennywise" thing I posted....the Sawyer Song was the first thing that popped into my head.
So I've noticed. Considering that, I thought I'd throw this out there to all the webmazer Eko fans who don't know about it already. There's a new Eko fanclub that's been started in his thread in the C&CD forums called the The P.R.I.E.S.T.H.O.O.D. (http://www.losttv-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16010). Feel free to come say hello all you Eko fans!

Have fun all, see y'all in a bit. :)

Hey yal :)
Thank GOD that work day is over!!!
UGH. I swear I was cursed like Hurley today....it was probably for introducing some of yal to the Sawyer song....

But....like yal said, its Friday, and I already found one UPDATE!! :D
Now that I'm home I feel alot better, gonna drink and JAM all the memories of the curse away tonight, so that will help too.

And, if yer lucky....I might have a little surprise for yal later after band practice :D

Hey Jaimie and Dix (and anyone else still around).

So happy to be here after a very long day and a very, very long week. I just went through all the posts for the past day, and it was quite a trip down memory lane. Compared to aggie, only one more of the "numbers" left on my birthday countdown, and still a couple of years away.

SNL, the Bay City Rollers and Tiger Beat... wow, just wow.

Hope to see y'all this weekend here and in bork. ITS FRIDAY!!!:drinky:

OK Lab! ;)

It has taken me forever it seems like just to get to 700 and I'm sure I should say something eloquent since it will take forever to get any higher from here.

Without making this a really long post by listing everyone, I'll just say this:

Funny how a TV show can bring so many different people together! I am so happy to have met all of you and you have all taken a special place in my life! :Hugglepounce: Enough sappy stuff.....Time to

Good morning everyone! Wow I never see ILE here this early!

Hope everyone has a happy Friday.
Jeannie, as much as I lurve you, I hope to never see you that early for a while!! Lol. Too early!

TI-
Well not that happy...gonna be in major ILE withdrawl today :( AND I gotta hangover like ya wouldn't believe! Must have a greasy breakfast pronto!!!!

I'll miss ya ILE! MWAH!
Aww :). I was going through TI withdrawals (and my other fave Borkers) hence why I tried to sneak in for 10-20 minutes every few hours :p
*MWAH* :Hugglepounce:

And I got my ILE fix in Bork, so I am happy again :D
Yay! :D

Truffy-
Lucky you, TI. ;) I miss ILE alot today too. Maybe if we're fortunate, she'll get to pop in here and say hey at some point. :)
Aww, I missed you too! I wish I could have stopped by here earlier, but I couldn't :(

Jaimie-
:nanabobo: This is strictly a mid-morning post for ILE because we miss her!

Hoping her day is going well and that she isn't too tired.
I missed all you guys too! Day wasn't horrible, and as exhausted as I am, knowing I can sleep in tomorrow means I'll stay up later tonight :D

lals-
YAY! ILE sighting!!! ;)
Haha :p Loved you being a ninja today ;)

Pen-
Wow ILE it is so odd without you in here!! LOL.
Lol :p And it was so odd without everyone!

Jaimie-

Haha, how sweet :D

I will make this the semi official ILE PW post, everybody needs to chip in one!!
Ha :p. I don't think a postwhore post needs to be a reason in here for you people ;) Lol.
And faith, GB (I think, lol), Jeannie, lala, Vee (for the cows), lab, etc. for contributing to the ILE Postwhore Fund or whatever someone called it, lol.

lg69-

lisa-

Lmao! They decided to leave you guys alone today ;)

Vee-
I'm old enough to remember John Travolta from Welcome Back, Kotter.

Ack! Don't feel rotten!!! :Hugglepounce: No one pissed me off, I must've just signed out and back in on AIM cuz of connection problems is all :)

I am not pissed! :D
See, me and (I think) rara were AIM spamming ILE to wake her up, and I turned my speakers on and imagined what that must've sounded like....VERY annoying! :p
So yeah, at the time I felt :ashamed: cause we all know how long a day ILE had yesterday, and she deserved her sleep, not endless "dings" from AIM (even though that's what she asked for...)

ILE - Glad to see you got a good nights sleep and that yer not pissed! :Hugglepounce:

Poor Truff.....everybody left him last night
Its all good. I ended up passin out not too long after I made my last post.
But still....a totally DEAD Friday night...here and Bork....WEIRD.

Well, next Friday better be different...cause there's lotsa reasons to hang out and PARTY!! :D Like the fact that it's St.Patty's Day, and Jaimie's Birthday, and lets not forget the SKYPE chat with DHARMA!!
Although I wanna ask daniel if that is still gonna go down, cause I think the morse that announced the Skype chat was put up by david and he got fired. So we shall see.

I have afternoon band practice today, and that means I have to tape the Flyers game. So a favor I ask of yal -
PLEASE DO NOT POST INFO ABOUT THE FLYERS GAME THIS AFTERNOON (dixon, chaz, and anyone else who watches it)
Thanks :)

I woke up at three, blanket over my head, figured it was about 11am, and was almost ready to get up and get dressed... Glad I checked my clock first :p

My mom called here from work this morning around 9:30 and I picked up and she said, "What are you doing out of bed?" So I guess the family expected me to sleep in, and now I wish I did cuz I don't wanna clean... http://72.9.235.11/~jfiles/bork/chat/images/smilies/smile8.gif http://72.9.235.11/~jfiles/bork/chat/images/smilies/smile8.gif http://72.9.235.11/~jfiles/bork/chat/images/smilies/smile8.gif

Alright... Off to clean.

It's in the 60's in Jersey, I'm still in my sweats trying to get my lazy butt out to the store. If it didnt get hotter than this I'd be happy, I'm no fan fan of the humid springs and summers we've been having. hot flashes sure change your outlook on summer, I was a beach baby before and couldnt wait for those hothothot days.

Happy Saturday Everyone!

Jeannie and aggie, sorry you have to work.

Hey fozzie!

Rose, aggie, Jaimie.....that was a great version of Santana!

truff, sorry about last night, Bork doesn't really work well for me anymore, no one AIMed me, and the Boards were quiet, so I shut down about 1ish......sorry bud.

Pene......enjoy your shopping trip, buy me something cool!

ILE, while I am sorry for your busy day yesterday, I am shocked to hear that was your first dirty diaper, I have hundreds under my belt, and it's about time you changed one. If it was yucky to you, thats good, maybe it will keep you from rushing to have kids. Take your Time!

lostgal, I think I am gonna join ya, and do some laundry and cleaning around the house. Sounds like a good plan for a slow Saturday.

Jaimie, enjoy your event, make sure to flirt a lot, haha

Carmen, Snow? In the Bay? Whats REALLY going on? That is CRAZY! I hope the Paris planning is going well.

ETA: Hey Snakey............... I'm with you, I prefer 60s to 70s.....perfect......hot weather makes me grumpy! haha

Mika is a happy girl! I brought home loads of steak for her...so I guess she is just going to get fatter.
I either need coffee, or I need to go back to bed. I just had to:

Anyone else think VA's creative skills are wasted on accounting (or maybe she should be accounting creatively for all of us)?

And I'm pretty sure now that we're going to find out that ILE is our very own "Doogie Hauser". And for the record, I didn't change my first diaper until I had my son at 34. And I'm happy I've changed my last. ;)

Good morning to everyone from me, too!

I think VA is one of those rare people who use both sides of their brain regularly. Balance! I wish I had it!

Maybe ILE's been sheltered, WayOff - I had changed a lot of diapers by the time I was 13! None for a couple years, thank goodness! ILE, dirty diapers just toughen us up for the other icky things we have to look at, LOL.

My older son beat ILE by quite a few years. My sons were 10 and 8 when my daughter was born. She was very little (I think just a few weeks old) when it happened. I was exhausted and sleeping too soundly and he is an early bird. I came down stairs to find my baby (that still should have had neck support) propped up on the couch all alone with a diaper on backwards! I know he meant well, but it took all I had not to scream.

:Cowdance::Cowdance::Cowdance:I don't have to work today! :Cowdance::Cowdance::Cowdance:

WOC, thanks for the coffee and trust me when I tell you that they tend to frown on creative accounting. And send you to prisons. I don't think Vee needs to release her creativity in that way. She's much better off writing song parodies and cow haiku! ;)

Speaking of accountants who are creative, I just found out this past week that another of my short stories has been accepted for a book that's coming out this fall. Just waiting for my contract to arrive in the mail now! :D

Rose, that was the first time I had seen the Goblet of Fire as well. I liked it a lot, though I still think of the movies thus far (and the books) Prisoner of Azkaban has been my favorite.

I thought I asked last week, but I'm not sure... Has anyone here read Stephen King's Cell yet? I finished it a couple of weekends ago and wanted to talk about it with someone who has read it.

Good morning, Jeannie. Congrats on getting published (again). Let us know the name of the book so we can check it out.

Sorry, I'm no help with Stephen King. I read everything up to (oddly enough) Rose Madder, but haven't read any since. I actually saw him lecture on creative writing back in 1983. He is hysterical "live". He read us "The Mangler", kept chuckling to himself and saying "this is good stuff".

Hey, good morning, VA! Were your ears buzzing from all the nice things we were saying?

I remember being at the mall with my sister and running into my brother with his 11-month old son. We women took him into the ladies room to change him because the men's had no changing table. Later, I got a call from my sister-in-law, who could not wait to rag on us because we had managed to get the diaper on backwards. Her poor son was soaked right through. Her ragging was totally good natured, though.

Aren't novelists the greatest? Y'all may not have heard of him, but I've been to see Jasper Fforde talk and sign books twice, and he is absolutely hilarious. And I loved to sit and listen to that British accent the whole time! It wasn't hard to see how he put so much of himself into his novels.
I was the only teenager there both times, probably because most teenagers wouldn't be that interested in his novels. And it's probably why he remembered me the second time. :D I love that guy.
I really want to read Cell. The excerpt I read of it in Entertainment Weekly creeped me out. Maybe I need to look for it.
I leave for Hawaii tomorrow!

Hey, ILE and DM, and fozzie!

Okay, for all us nerds out here, I've been seeing promos for a show that I think I will have to watch tonight - How William Shatner Changed the World. It's on the History Channel from 8-10 pm (EST).

You've got a cell phone at one ear, an iPod at the other. You know that Blackberry is now a verb and Spam is not only canned meat. But just how did we get here? Blame William Shatner--yes, that William Shatner--Captain Kirk. We'll boldly go where few have gone before to reveal how scientists, inspired by the series, would revolutionize medicine and are surpassing the far-out vision of the future foreshadowed in Star Trek in the 1960s. From cell phones to computers to even leading-edge medical advancements, this 2-hour special explores how those sci-fi inventions have now permeated everyday life as we know it. Hosted and narrated by Shatner and based on his book, I'm Working on That, we'll meet the brightest minds of Silicon Valley and the Trek-inspired inventions that have help change the world.

Remember National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation? Clark Griswold's (Chevy Chase) son Rusty was in his teens and the aunt asked "Is Rusty still in the Navy?" That's what my youngest brother says whenever one of us has one of those "senior" moments.

Pene,
I have to agree with a couple of other people and say The Stand and The Shining are two of my favorites. The Stand has some aspects that I believe relate pretty well to LOST. I have WAY too many books (threatening the structure of my old house), so I got rid of a lot of my fiction a few years ago, but those are the two I kept. And OWA 213 has me wishing I'd kept It as well...

Anyone who finds themselves on I-81 in Virginia near James Madison University should check to see if the Green Valley Book Fair is open. http://www.gvbookfair.com/ They are open for a few weeks at a time 6 times a year. It's on a farm and there are like two big warehouse type buildings connected full of bargain books 60-90% off list price. You'll always find something interesting at a great price. It is a book lover's paradise.:Booky::Booky::Booky:

Pene, you have to read The Stand. Preferably the long version. It's the best Stephen King book ever, IMO! The Shining, Desperation and The Regulators (you have to read those two one after the other and one is written under his pen name of Richard Bachmann) are some others I would recommend. But really most of his books are good.

I replied to your PM with my thoughts on Cell. Sounds like we had very similar reactions. I don't want to discuss it here and spoil it for anyone though.

Thanks for the congratulations gang. When the book comes out this fall, I'll let you know and then anyone who wants to read it can PM me and I'll give you the book title and my RL name so you can find my story. I'm not sure I want to just put it in an open forum, but those of you who post here I'll be glad to share it with.
