But I've learned that a stern voice without a threatening look works pretty well when in doubt. Not that I need it; dogs see me coming and come to kiss me and love me and tell me that nobody ever scratches their belly.

Yep! Me too! I worked with my Uncle's "wild" lab for 10 minutes yesterday and he's better already. Mine are trained with hand signals or one word. If you have more than two....they must be trained well. Dogs like me for some reason! (more so than most people do, lol) Don't you just feel sorry for those dogs who never get their bellys scratched?? :p

My dog caught a fish once...I thought she fell off a little Rock pathway that pedestrians use to cross the river, and i jumped in after her last year...i pulled her out and she had a fish in her mouth...I guess she didnt fall in...she jumped in to go fishing. :D How cute is that!

Umm, err, yes all mine. Just thought I'd share a few pics before I go back to Mika's. (she gets jealous if I leave her off for too long. :p )
I did mention that I am the eccentric lady on the hill with all the dogs. lol All are trained with hand signals or one word. All my dogs were/are rescues. People get these mastiff breeds that are LGD's and just do not know how to handle them. (with the exception of Kobe the Dobe! I got him as a pup because I like the breed.)

Jaimie--love the Pyr!! My roommate had one that lived with us for about three years (then she and the dog moved). Sweetest dog you'd ever meet. She'd greet you at the door with two HUGE paws on the shoulders. At the time we were the crazy people with four big dogs and we would take them all for walks and rides and to the park and such. Now my hubby and I have only two, and we were wondering yesterday at the park how we ever managed four. I'm looking forward to seeing who's left in your menagerie.

Hey everyone. Great job on OWA!! I'm in the "went to college, took physics, calc and all that and promptly forgot every little bit" catagory.

Jaimie--love the Pyr!! My roommate had one that lived with us for about three years (then she and the dog moved). Sweetest dog you'd ever meet. She'd greet you at the door with two HUGE paws on the shoulders. At the time we were the crazy people with four big dogs and we would take them all for walks and rides and to the park and such. Now my hubby and I have only two, and we were wondering yesterday at the park how we ever managed four. I'm looking forward to seeing who's left in your menagerie.

Living in the country with some land is so much easier. I've shown 4 and that is enough for now. (I truly don't want ya'll to think I am any crazier than you already do. hehe)
Mika and Sami (the cat) go with me everywhere I go. The rest, I have animal sitters. hehe Often, they do not stay with me long. Some just need some love and special training, some need to be reminded that guarding livestock is what they do. It breaks my heart to see some go, but at least I know they are better for the time with me.
I have no children, so these are my kids. I'm glad some of you have enjoyed looking at them!! Better than smiley whoring I guess. :rotfl: Not that there's anything wrong with that. :nanabobo:

Just poppin in before 24 starts....

I was out and about doin errands and stuff today, and the last place we went to had this little movie theater hidden in the back.
We were bored so we decided to see "V for Vendetta".
WOW. That flick was totally AWESOME!!! :D
Now I wanna check out the comics to see if the stories are as good as the movie (probably better, usually are ;)).....

I'm so hooked on this cable internet thingy now too.
I found out last nite that I can watch certain NHL games LIVE on my cpu, which totally ROCKS!!
So maybe after 24, I'll stick on the Avs vs Oilers game while I browse around and see what else I can do now....:D

Oh, and I also wanted to mention somethin else I found last nite -
Remember that song at the end of "Confidence Man" called "I shall not walk alone" by the Blind Boys of Alabama? Well I went lookin for more of their stuff and heard this really cool version of "Amazing Grace" set to the tune of "House of the Rising Sun" (which I chuckled at cause its also the title of an episode of LOST ;)).
I can't find the linkee now, but it was streaming video from (I think it was) thier official site. One of the performace videos....I'll post linkee later if anyone wants to check it out.
