Mole or no mole?
The writers went to great efforts to seemingly dispel the rumor that Libby was not on the plane. Her description of Hurley not only seemed correct from what we saw, but also he didn't deny her rendition of his appearence getting on the plane.

I hope she isn't a mole. But you never know with this show lol.

Weird... it was Libby's excessively detailed, and mostly unnecessary chatter about Hurley's entrance on the plane that made me consider the possibility she's a mole.

And you guys want to know the first thought that came to mind when Hurley mentions seeing Libby before? She worked at the Santa Rose Insitute for the slightly insane.

This just in.
Libby was canned from CTU for 'unspecified reasons.'

Has anyone checked the Season 1 final to see if Libby was on the plane when Hurley boarded? That could clear up one mystery.

I hope we get a Libby flash back this season. Would love to see her as a patient.

Numbers is airing this week, perfect time for those of us to check Libby's story.

With the exception of the Ana-Lucia character, I don't think any of the other characters had been cast before the filming of Exodus. Therefore, unless they refilm the plane scenes, they won't appear in the flashbacks that have already been shown.

But for some reason, I think TPTB will be showing us a new and revised version of the boarding eventually.

Wow... seems like everyon eis getting so polarized on this issue
Things people are hotly debating:
1) She is a mole and was never on the plane
2) She worked at the pysch ward that Hurley was in
3) She was a patient at the pysch ward that Hurley was in
4) She wants Hurley's money
Personally? Well, and this is simply because it's a gut feeling:
a) She was on the plane just the way she said it happened
b) She is a pyschologist
c) She's an extravert has has little problem with nudity (more then once I've been in the same room as a girl when she changed - ahhh college days)
d1) Hurley drop the "do I know you?" line as a "wow, you are everything I've looked for in a girl" kind of pick-up line.
or
d2) Hurley and Libby crossed paths before he ended up in the pysch ward and that somehow Libby was indirectly responsable for him ending up there.

igator210, for the most part I agree with you in that there are a whole set of assumptions (with little to no basis in fact) being bandied about to 'explain' Libby. For all we know at this point, she could very well be a psychologist, just like she said. We must remember that when she told Ana Lucía that, neither of them had any reason to believe that a rescue plan wouldn't be coming their way withing days at most, so there was little reason to lie. (Of course, the preceding statement is based on the fact that, as far as I'm concerned and until I'm shown different during a future episode, Libby was on the flight.) So, she could be a psychologist, only a rather poor one IMNSHO.
You and I part ways, though, on the changing clothes bit. It's very different to ask a guy you know, however superficially, to turn around so you can change, in a place you are familiar with, than to do it in Craphole Island; after a plane crash; after surviving 48 days of Ana Lucía, Godwin, and other shennanigans; alone with him in an underground bunker, and when you've known this guy for a couple of days max. Unless, of course, you either have ulterior motives (I need to change the conversation fast so it's worth the risk), or are TSTL (what risk?).

I don't think that Libby is a mole. But I do have suspicions regarding her interest in Hurley.
I think that a possible mole can still be found amongst the Fusies.

Well, my .02 cents! And come on guys, we are talking about Lost-TV here. Hell, if a character said the sky was blue, I'd probably go outside to look myself. Granted, sometimes we walk into a wall, because we're constantly looking over our shoulder. But, we speculate. That's what we do!
I think she was on the plane as well. But for some reason, instead of being a psychologist, I think she was a patient at Santa Rosa Hospital. Just like Hurley!

It is interesting to see how fast her character has come to the fore-front of conversations. A couple of choice lines from Libby, and it seems we are going "Ana? Who's Ana?"
And as I said, it seems like everyone is getting polarized about this and someone is going to upset when the truth is reveled.

And if it wasn't?

Well, if I went outside and the sky wasn't blue, I'd start looking for a charging Polar bear or boar. Because I'd definitely be on Craphole island. :scared:

I dont think she is a mole, I think she was a psychiatrist at the hospital where Hurley was, and she somehow knows he is worth so much money. I watched the rerun tonight hoping she would turn up in the background, but no such luck.

I watched the rerun tonight hoping she would turn up in the background, but no such luck.Remember, when Numbers first aired, Cynthia Watros/Libby wasn't a character. So, if she was somewhere in the episode tonight, I would've screamed bloody murder.
And again, :welcome:

A Libby Flashback would be great ... I hope that they do one this season. I also think that it would be great to see a scene where all of the tail section are getting on the plane like the one we saw with all of the 1st islanders getting on a plane in season 1

Libby states she dropped out of med school (to Ana Lucia in 48 days). The Mr. Lee that Sun was matched up with in ...And Found was going to return to Harvard and marry an American. Could this be where Sun and Libby might tie in? Both knew Mr. Lee at different times. Kind of like Sayid and Kate's dad, sawyer and Kate's mom, Jack and Shannon's dad, etc. Just a quick crossing of paths. :thankyous for not blasting me, OK?

Thanks, Hodgepodge, for the welcome. Read the welcome forum a long time ago. Guess it wouldn't hurt to do so again. I don't post often, as you can see, but once in awhile I have an idea that I haven't read elsewhere. I agree with you, I don't think Libby is an other, and if I were on the island, I would jump at the chance to made friends with anyone, especially Hurley - he is loaded with personality. Some of the other characters..not that fond of. Like everyone, I have my favorites too and Libby is one of them.

I think Libby is not an other but tried indeed to help out Hurley. But in fact, they already had met in a previous past.
