Lockeness Monster...
Read this theory and it stuck.. this has to be whats going on..
Here’s my theory:
Locke is the monster, and the island is his natural habitat. He’s kind of like a werewolf, so he only looks like a monster sometimes. When the plane crashed and he found himself back in his element, so to speak, he regained the use of his legs. His paralysis is only effective in places other than the island.
Jack and Kate were actually married to each other, and were conned by Sawyer, who used some sort of secret government experiment to erase their memories, and now they don’t even remember they were married to each other, but Sawyer’s using a fake name, just in case. Kate’s past criminal behavior and Jack’s hallucinations of his father are both side-effects of their brainwashing.
Jin visited the same psychic as Claire, and learned of Sun’s plan to leave him, and used his Korean mafia connections to arrange for the plane to crash. His thought was that, if they survived, she would be unable to leave him, and if they died, well, she probably deserved it because she wanted to leave him, and he didn’t want to live without her, anyway.
Boone and Shannon are brother and sister, but they have an incestuous relationship. They had escaped to Australia where they thought it was legal to marry your sibling, but learned the hard way that it was, in fact, neither legal nor socially acceptable. Shannon is the diary writer, and she is pregnant…with Boone’s child!! In addition to having asthma, Shannon is kind of a psycho. That’s why she talks about herself in the third person in the diary.
Hurley is Alex, the child of Danielle Rousseau. When he was a young child, he was able to manifest his wishes like Walt, and he wished to get off the island, and he ended up attending the University of Hawaii on a backgammon scholarship. That’s why his response was so odd when he saw Walt’s freakish luck at backgammon.
Michael is not actually Walt’s father—he’s Michael Jackson in disguise. You figure out the rest of that part. It’s too disturbing for me to even write.
Ethan is Locke’s son with Danielle Rousseau—also Hurley/Alex’s half-brother. He is so mean because he ended up with the “monster” aspect of Locke’s personality, and he really hates Hurley because he was granted his wish to get off the island, and he is kidnapping Claire’s baby to raise it and make the baby wish him off the island when he or she gets old enough to be coherent.
Charlie wasn’t on the plane. He is a hobbit in disguise, and he was planted among the survivors by Gandalf to help fight the evil forces on the island. The metal Boone and Locke found is actually Sauron’s underground lair. It’s going to be the battle of Middle Earth all over again come season finale time. Claire will be found to be of Elvish descent. The deal with her baby is that he will either be a good elf, like Legolas, or he will turn into a Goblin. Goblins are of Elvish descent, you know. I really think that’s what’s happening with those two.
Vincent is actually a dingo, and when the baby is born, maybe he’ll eat the baby, which will prompt the other survivors to spend countless hours speculating to Claire, "Maybe a dingo ate your baby". Big props to pimptastic for having a sweet screen name, and for figuring out this part of the mystery.
They aren’t dead, and they aren’t in purgatory—except for Rose. Rose is definitely in purgatory.
Also, Sawyer and Sayid AREN'T gay...YET
