Just a little rant about this message board...

Right, I've been doing exactly what I planned to do here.
I'm an English LOST fan, and I've fell completely under its trance. I've already had a couple of things from the second series spoilt by a couple of obnoxious Americans I know in a chatroom I operate in [Not calling all Americans obnoxious, just those two!] and I came here to find more LOST fans to chat with about Series 1, and what could happen in Series 2.

But so far, I'm just getting spoiled left right and center! Eko?! Who the hell is Eko?! I wasn't expecting any new characters [unless one of my theories was correct, but STILL! Either that or I wasn't paying attention to the original 48's names]

I also saw whilst looking through the Character boards for the Charlie one that Michelle Rodriguez has her own board, hence making me think, "Oh, she must have a pretty significant part in the next series to get her own message board"

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this little rant, but I have no idea where I am meant to post anything here without ruining any more of the plot ;-;

P.S I'm really sorry to come across as a complete and utter ass, but LOST is the first thing I've ever come across in 20 years of existance to ever get this... feeling {I can't explain it} over, and it saddens me to have bits and bobs ruined :(

So sorry about the spoilers, the best you can do to protect yourself is to stick to the international forum (http://www.losttv-forum.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=8) or.... check out this thread (http://www.losttv-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6657) to see if / how you could conceivably catch up to the fans on this side of the pond.

Hopefully either or both suggestions will help you out.

Oh and may I suggest you check out the Welcome forum? Lots of good stuff there.

That's the thing. I stuck to the forums that claimed to eliminate risk of spoilers. >_<

I suppose it's pretty much impossible to not have LOST ruined for me unless I just stay away from all online LOST resources... but that means I'm going to have to stop hoarding Charlie pictures.

I managed to find out before I'd seen it that Claire had her baby safely by looking for pictures of Charlie ;-;

Final verdict? Internet = Evil.

To add to this post, but slightly off from the lost theme - I've not posted much on here recently due to another show being utterly spoiled for me.

It was a post in this forum, just after the finale of Nip/Tuck was shown in the US and it was just titled as "Nip / Tuck". Being a fan I think maybe its some info on the actors / special guest stars or something (I wasn't aware how far along the series was) The post basically summised the entire episode in a paragraph, as soon as I realised that I clicked out of it again but the damamge was done.

When it finally aired over here I just sat through it looking glum, because I knew what was going to happen. I should hope I don't have to avoid this forum because I don't want other shows spoiled - so could the "Spoiler Warning" thing be a bit clearer in general? I, and other UK'ers may be up to date on Lost but not on other things, and it would save a lot of hassle.

Why are other countries behind, anyway? It's certainly not necessary technology-wise. Is it a queston of "buying" the episodes?

I'm in the US, but Some jerk ruined the plot twist of Saw II for a bunch of us, in the fall of '05. I am still steamed about that one. The thread title, as it appeared at the time, was deliberately vague to sucker us into reading the thread. That has since been changed, but like you said, the damage is done for many of us who were anticipating seeing Saw II.

I have no idea, but tv shows and movies don't come out here til you guys see it, and sometimes we don't get it at all. For example - Prison Break premiered in the UK last week. I've been hearing peolpe mention it for ages around these parts. Its probably to see the reaction it gets in the US, and if it would appeal to British audiences etc

merry, my understanding is that different markets have to buy the rights to show the series. And you don't have to go across the pond for weird time warps: Mexico, right across the border, has yet to see any episode of season 1.

edited to add: as far as spoiler tagging goes... well, it would help if people were to read the guidelines to begin with, but we all know how that one goes.
