Because every board needs a thread for you to take your temper out on.

My first rant. Why should we have to constantly worry about hurting everyone's feelings? When you're a new poster and you don't do your homework (and even if you do) your threads get locked sometimes. Deal with it. It doesn't mean someone hates you, it means you're ignorant and you posted something stupid.

The same goes for threads that are against something. It doesn't mean folks who are against it are out to get you or think you're stupid. I can think your ideas are dumb but still think you are intelligent.

I'm sick of all the tissue paper feelings. Make sure someone is really attacking you before you jump to conclusions. And for crying out loud, realize that some folks have rougher senses of humor than others. Nothing makes you look dumber than getting offended at something that wasn't an attack.>:

Ranting is good from time to time, but let's keep it as constructive as we can, okay? Otherwise, someone will have to come by with a key.

okay...here's my rant

i'm getting sick and @#%$ tired of all the crybaby shite going on around here. the relatively repercussion-free nature of this site is bringing out the worst in us- all of us, me included. but that's the nature of the medium...so suck it up, assholes, and deal with it. i'm not telling anyone to get a life, since i myself only have an life-compatible substitute; but for christ's sake, take a pill, have a mental margarita, do whatever the @#%$ you have to do to chill the @#%$ out. if someone burns you, so the @#%$ what? some folks are naturally antagonistic- if you really want to burn them...ignore them. stop escalating the violence- before the un decides peace-keeping forces are in order, and takes us all out to the woodshed.

that was my rant; thanks for listening!
oh, and everybody- have a merry @#%$ christmas!

I think teddy bears should do a lot more than just sit there and look cute for all the money spent on them. Yup...

ya know what i dont understand? stormtroopers are all clones, and are the exact same size. yet, when han and luke steal the two stormtrooper uniforms, they fit each of them perfectly--even though han is about half a foot taller than luke. come on, man...is there spandex in those uniforms or what?

and what's the deal with C3P0? did he ever wonder why he was programmed to act and sound like a british fop?

and i gotta tell ya, i'm glad i'm not a kid in this day and age. i mean christ, what kind of toys would i be waking up to find in my stocking christmas morning? sponge bob? pokemon? power rangers? god damn, these kids have some really crappy toys. thank god i lived in an age when i could run to my stocking and find transformers and gi joes, and later, ninja turtles awaiting me. have fun with your loser toys, little boys and girls. they suck, and so do you.

Time for me to get all geeky on you Jek.

Well you see, in the original days of what would later be called "The Empire" yes, all of the stormtroopers were clones. However, as The Empire took over the Republic as the central government of the galaxy, the amount of men they needed increased and no longer could they solely use clones. Thus, they started recruiting and very few of the original clones remained among the ranks of the Imperials.

It is thus quite possible the Luke and Han could find outfits that fit them, though Leia's "Aren't you a little short for a stormtrooper?" comment suggests most troopers are bigger than Luke -- so the suit was probably a little loose on him anyway.

I believe Jek was talking about the age before they're interested in electronics -- or is our society just so messed up that little boys don't even play with action figures anymore?

indeed, chewie...i was talking about my early years and how they compare...ya know, like 5-11 or so, when action figures and cartoons were "it" for me.

Oh, my 10 year old sister got a good amount of electronics...I on the other hand recieved several action figures:-)
...is it strange that a 17 year old girl collects action figures?:\

Chance Gardener

I suppose it depends on what kind of action they perform....

Well, there are action "parts" though as I think about it, you're the one who is to supply the action.

But the parts are supposedly molded off the real ladies.

I'm not trolling, I'm just wondering.

I've never felt the inclination to spend endless hours watching soaps or sports.

To me it's just filling the mind with junk.

I'm curious to what your motivations are?

Do you work hard and just like to vegetate in front of the TV?

Has your local library closed down?

Nothing this show can do will actually make any sort of difference in your life, save to waste your precious time.

When you're sitting on your deathbeds, recalling your lives, you aren't going to be thinking of this show. There's so much in life to explore and experience! I'd rather see people out there, participating in, and enjoying reality than turning into soap zombies on the couch.
_________________________________________________
-you're a liar.

-no; you spend endless hours on the internet attacking complete strangers who are entertaining themselves and minding their own business.

-who are you to judge, you smug little prick?

- motivations are simple; it's called entertainment, and homo sapiens have been entertaining themselves in similar fashion for the past 35,000 years

-there is no evidence that life is supposed to be taken seriously, you pretentious idiot. even einstein took the night off occasionally and had fun.

-reading and tv are not mutually exclusive, and if you'd bother looking around, you might discover that some in our little club are rather erudite.

-'waste of time'. i reiterate- it's entertainment. it's a shitty world out there; how can you find anything wrong about something that brings people enjoyment and harms no one? narrative is essential to the human condition, and one of the most successful means of communication.

-this site is about people with common interests exchanging ideas and getting to know one another. it's about interaction; it's about participation; if you had any friends, you might understand. there will be relationships formed here that will grow far beyond the scope of this show that we here happen to currently enjoy. get over it.

(friends- this went a little long- for that, my apologies. but man, i feel a lot better...)

and xand?
*sticks tongue out*
