Okay, since we seem to have had an outburst of drama around these parts lately, it's time to up the fun in the Basement. Now my grandpappy always told me -- "What better what to up the fun than a pointless little survey question that will get people thinking and conversing?" Mmm hmm, that's right. So without futher delay...
If you had to pick one album to listen to for the rest of your life -- which album would you choose?
For me it has to be Led Zeppelin IV. The Battle of Evermore, Stairway to Heaven, and Misty Mountain Hop back to back to back? Come on, it doesn't get any better than that.
Okay people, line up!

Hmm... I actually prefer Houses of the Holy, but IV is second so good choice.
Mine would probably be ... hmm... probably Miles Davis: In A Silent Way. Preferably the extended version from the box set, since the original is pretty short and we're talking about my whole life here.

Man...I dunno.
Led Zeppelin? Nice pick.
Chili Peppers album "Californication?" Beautiful.
Jack Johnson's "Brushfire Fairytales?" Definite contender.
But I think I'd have to go with...
U2. Joshua Tree.

Good one....Like Jek, there are so many albums that are good, I defintely would have to say Pearl Jam's Ten. I love the song "black" "elderly woman...." "daughter" Both Jared and I have been drinking and he says Vitology.

Sorry WC - I really couldn't think of what I wanted to say here. Lots of music brings back great memories for me and it would be hard to pick just one album (not to mention I can never remember the names of them).
Okay - now you know why I haven't been here. I cannot make these kinds of decisions.
I like Aqualung and Who's Next. I am partial to the old works of Simon and Garfunkle; Crosby, Still, Nash & Young; and Bread. I like Def Lepard. I like Heart and Pat Benatar. When I'm in a dancing mood I love to listen to Belinda Carlisle. I have very ecletic tastes and it's not the artist or the style that usually inspires me, it's the song itself.
I've taken heat for liking Nickelback. I like Green Day and Collective Soul as well as Bryan Adams. I can't pick at all. It depends on my mood. So picking one album to listen to the rest of my life would be an impossibility. I like variety. I suppose I'd have to choose nothing and just listen to the music in my head so I could change it at will.
Food: Another impossibility. Steak is good. Pizza is good. Nachos are good. Toast is one of my favorite things. Maybe I would pick bread - freshly made - and in a variety of shapes and types.
