I know there are not very many fans who want Locke in a relationship. But I think that him and Kate would make a good couple, maybe not a long term type couple, but when they have scenes together, they seem to fit well. I know they are setting up for a Locke/Claire thing, but I still think Kate and him would be a better suit.

It has been foretold. Orange represents love; Locke did the orange thing to Kate in the first episode.

Anyone else notice that despite telling Jack she has his back, she always sides with Locke and follows him?

I have noticed that despite Kate's apparent loyalty to Jack, whenever a tough desicion has to be made, more often than not Kate will side with Sawyer or Locke over the good doctor.

That has nothing to do with a Kate/Locke pairing IMHO, it's more about Kate's relationship with Jack. On the one hand Kate deeply respects and admires Jack's societal 'goodness' and subsequently, she'll talk herself up to him as an ally because she'd dream of being together with a guy like him. But deep down inside Kate has serious self-esteem issues resulting from what happened to the last 'nice guy' she happened to care about. And she's a fugitive from the law. So sometimes she almost seems to side with Sawyer or Locke over Jack just because she doesn't feel 'good' enough for Jack's affection -- it's almost a form of self-punishment.

One if you call them LATE.

Then maybe we'd know the real reason behind Charlie's finger-tape message...

Or Ko...
no, I guess that won't work.

No, it wouldn't. I already thought of that.

When I first saw this I went to merge it with the other Locke/Kate threads. Surprize surprize...There aren't any. I guess the Jaters and Skaters figure they have her all to themselves.

What the hell, Locke and Kate? Locke is like 40 and Kate is like 20.

More like 50 and 25, but so what? Anyway, Kate has daddy issues; she's primed to be drawn to an older man.

OMG, I can't even describe how hard I laughed at that!

But Kate and Locke? NO!!! You can't mix the worst character (Kate) and the best character (Locke)

No way. Would never, ever work...thank God.

As someone nearing Locke's age....Locke/Kate sounds good to me!

:yeah: :rotfl:
I'm definitely digging the idea. I don't think that the age difference would be THAT outrageous... better than sticking him with Claire (in terms of age, isn't Claire like a lot younger?).
They would be an interesting couple, and even better, can you imagine how Jack would totally freak out? I can see someday, Locke putting the moves on Kate just to get at Jack, and with Kate's daddy issues, he may be sucessful...

But Kate and Locke? NO!!! You can't mix the worst character (Kate) and the best character (Locke)

I think that not only WOULD they do that, but they already have... Coughcoughsayidandshannoncoughcough.

I think is would be totally awsome if Locke did it just to make Jack mad. That would be the best thing ever! Jack would be furious!

Ah... I close my eyes and picture the look on Jack's face if Kate started snuggling with the OTHER alpha-male... priceless.

So would Sawyer. Question is whether Kate is shallow enough do pull that stunt.

I am SO TIRED OF THIS!!!

Haven't ANY OF YOU seen The Godfather?!?! Did it mean that the old fart wanted his grandkids, in that movie? Geez, people.

Besides, if there's one thing I've learned about Locke, it's that he's FAR too wrapped up in his own brain to even begin on someone elses. His pieces of wisdom he shares come from other peoeple who have influenced him in his life, although he is unable to follow his own advice. I love the Locke character, and I have to say that although I see the possibility of him 'hooking up' with someone on the island, I find it very unlikely.

Once again, the orange, in my opinion, was a nod to a Great movie of our time. Nothing more.

Gotta disagree. Locke's not asexual. "Helen" shows that. And any man on a deserted island, facing death at every moment, etc... let's just say I'm surprised there's not more... um... "whoopie" :rotfl:... going on all the time there.
Especially the fact that he's been in a wheelchair for so long, now he's cured, a "whole man" again, could you blame him for wanting to... celebrate?
The possibility of him putting the moves on Kate just to mess with Jack... slim....
The possibility of him just turning to Kate because he's confused and sexually frustrated and wants a little human comfort... much higher.
Locke's old, but not that old. I'm sure he's still got some libido to work with, especially if Kate keeps on walking around the hatch in a towel :nanabobo:
It's just that him doing it to piss off Jack is much more fun to think about.

Question is whether Kate is shallow enough do pull that stunt.

Would she be shallow enough to do it just to make Jack/Sawyer mad? Maaaaybe...
But more likely is the daddy issue, or whatever. I don't think that her finding herself attracted to Locke is too unlikely. He's not an unattractive man, in many ways. In the situation they're in, I'm not saying that I would never be at all tempted.

I think you missed my point; there's a scene in The Godfather where the Godfather smiles at one of his grandkids (I think) with an orange in his mouth. The way the scene is framed is very similar. That's what I meant.

As I recall, Don Vito Corleone died right after that. One of his cute grandkids got him square with a blast of bug spray.

Yes, it was a nod to a great movie. I think it was also the last time we saw Locke being anything other than depressingly serious.

I'm a Godfather fan. I know the scene.

But I don't think that the "orange" scene has anything to do with Kate and Locke's potential as a couple.
