:welcome: :welcome: -- Welcome to The International Forum -- :welcome: :welcome:
What Is It For, Exactly?
Exactly speaking...there's nothing exact about this Forum! Simply, it is:
a) A place to hang out, to call your own. All nationalities* welcome. Feel like a piece of home-cooked pie? This is the place. There is a cubbyhole for every nationality. (A list of links for each country will be added below to help you navigate easier)
b) A place to drop-in, if you're new to Lost-TV and are a non-U.S. member*. We can ease your transition into the world of Lost-TV.
c) A place to discuss Lost, Spoiler-free, given the time-lag releases of Lost episodes compared to the U.S. (more on Spoilers shortly)
(*U.S. members welcome too ;) ---- in fact I need you here, I want to get to get the Forum traffic count running higher!)

Just a quick note to let all the GD-I users that your favourite* mod isn't going to be around for the next four weeks. Taking a long vacation (honeymoon).
Leuthen will be keeping an eye on things in my absence, so feel free to PM him if any problems crop up or you have any questions etc.
Note to Leuthen: it is only right and proper that you stand in as a surrogate Pommie (derisory description of Englishmen by Aussies) and do a bit of Aussie-baiting as and when necessary. Mentioning defeat in the Ashes to England normally works. As does referring to the 2003 rugby World Cup Final defeat. :nanabobo: ;) :D
Have fun, and see you guys in 4 weeks time.
mav.
*what do you mean I'm not your favourite mod? ;)
Aww, I hope you have a good time favourite mod!
I'm sure Leuthen will do a good job too, see ya in 4 weeks!

Congrats and have a wonderful time mav. Although I must say that neglecting your post will cost you another star.
And we can look forward to Leuthen around the place you say? Great. He doesn't get in the way at all.

I'm not that bad am I? ;) Thanks mav for the welcome/notice. I'll keep an eye out as best I can. If anyone has any questions, problems, issues then feel free to contact me. I'll do the best I can. :)

Thank you, teaspoons.
But no pwning, please.
A little bit of an announcement.
Since Mav has been no longer a moderator, this place has been pretty much left to its own devices. I'll be filling Mav's shoes as the moderator of GD-I from now on. He managed to do a lot for this area of the board, and I hope I can carry that work on! :)

Well, hello to the new the moderator. ;)
Congrats, Scotty.
Any plans for this place?
(apart from a long overdue intruder vonne alarm)

You're slacking, Scott.
This place is no better than it was when that silly English guy was in charge.

While we wait for Scott to sort his life out I did have a suggestion about the GD-I forum.
It started as a place to discuss LOST seperately - but now that the board covers other shows and subjects should it be broadened to allow other discussions?
Is there a way to have it appear in multiple areas? Could the module which displays GD-I be configured to also appear in, say, Heroes, BSG & Daisies, and maybe even MyMedia & Community.
It would offer an alternative fly paper for non-Americans who stumble across the board. Granted, traffic in this area has been slow - but that might simply be due to being stuck out of the way in LOST.

Still no Scott. :p
Sorry, I've been really busy these past few days. Should all change starting next week though - school holidays! :D
That's a good idea, Mav. I mentioned it a while ago when we were discussing Heroes, but since there're more and more TV shows being added onto this forum and getting good reviews over here, it might be interesting to add more "international" areas. I know I'd like one for Pushing Daisies :) We'll talk it over.

We'll talk it over.Any news yet, Dusky?

Still waiting for news on the cross-pollonation proposal for GD-I, Scott...
Yeah, I know, I know! It's a busy time of the school year but now the Summer holidays have begun. Now I get my behind in gear :) *runs off to do stuff*
I pasted your post to the admin forum, as I think it's a great idea, and like I said, something that was previously discussed. It would encourage people from around the world to discuss on going TV shows without fear of spoilers. I know I, personally, would love a Heroes and Pushing Daisies area like that, which I would devote time to. I'm not entirely sure we'd need an international area for Community though. Everything seems to be fine in there as it is, unless there's a specific reason you mention it?

I'm still waiting for news that you have learned how to spell. Or is "cross-pollonation" the British spelling?

Good thinking Batman if it could be done. Is that what H is finding out? Whether it would pull in any more traffic, I'm not sure. Might just be you and old Dusky talking to each other. But then you've had loads of practice at that :p .
I just find this place has become so big that I can't find things or keep track of what's going on. I know it's all in the name of progress but I do miss that old VB board I originally stumbled upon.

There should be a section for British TV Programmes, like Hollyoaks, Skins, Eastenders etc..
Especially Hollyoaks

That's a great idea.
Only caught a few epidoes of SKINS when it first aired but thought it was fab.
I detest Hollyoaks.
