Kelvin was the previous occupant of the Dharma Initiative's (http://lost.wikia.com/wiki/The_Dharma_Initiative)Station 3: The Swan (http://lost.wikia.com/wiki/Station_3:_The_Swan). When Desmond (http://lost.wikia.com/wiki/Desmond) arrived on the island, Kelvin ran out of the jungle and brought him into the hatch, after typing in the code and pressing the button, Kelvin explained he was just “saving the world”. Kelvin eventually died waiting for his replacements.

Do you think Kelvin will ever return on the island or do you think he is really dead?

Right now I wouldn't put any money on either option, assuming that he ever even existed. Remember that the only mention of him is from the mouth of a character whose level of credibility has yet to be established.

I agree completely, TBC. We know next to nothing really, at this point, about Desmond, so his word is about as good as Fenry's. Also, cautiousguyonlost, considering Wiki is a user-updated site, you might want to think about possible better references. Just a thought. ;) (Sorry, that's my Spoiler Forum persona showing itself.)

I think ,yeah: Kelvin's about as alive and real as Henry Gale's wife.

I think he's dead but we'll find out he was very, very important.

That's going under the assumption he ever existed. There's a theory that states, Desmond's post was the hatch. He was waiting there until someone came along to replace him. He came up with the story about Calvin, because it sounded plausible. Once he got the Losties to take his place in the hatch, he could move on to the next hatch. Sort of like a game!
