Dont forget the thread author who speaks volumes in saying the dead and the missing are quickly forgotten. Lost4eva: continue to cry out against the injustice. Maybe the likelier reciprocity of your pining will bring that boy back to the living where he belongs. And Shannon too. Cant really have one without the other. :pissed: :pissed:

You know. Shannon's brother. You remember Shannon, dont you? The pretty girl. The long luscious legs. The soft blond hair. The mouth that required soap every five minutes. You know. Boone was her equally pretty brother. At least in my estimation. :whistling

However, if I was a young hot gay marine, I would want to be around others of my ilk. As it is, I would settle for distant admiration from the camouflage of my coffee cup.:coffeedunk:

Early in Season One I remember predicting that Boone was the island's "Canary in a Coal Mine". The poor lad was doomed from day one. I wonder what he would have thought about pushing the button? I suspect he would have tossed a lot of snark Locke's way over that development.

I was watching Wolf Creek and saw a preveiw for "PULSE" which has Boone in it. Has anyone else seen this?

Good prediction Homer. I arrived late on the analysis scene, but looking back after season 1 ended I saw the clues, hints, signs, portents, omens and oracles that Boone was as good as dead bird meat. Boone would have cheered the Locke leg injury and the Eko-to-Locke headbutt as examples of poetic justice. Or, if he should return from the dead, he would stare at Locke in some all-knowing way, suggesting: Sound and Fury, Signifying Nothing. Or he would forgive Locke. Difficult telling what a bloodied up ghost would do.:ghost2:

I laughed when Arzt died. I mourned when Boone died. I was outraged when Shannon died (blamed the writers for their lack of imagination). I felt bad when Ana died. I felt bad when Libby died. But the writers didnt give me enough of these two characters for any personal investment. I felt for Michael and the ridiculous position he was put in. He deserved better from the writers. Boone's death was the only one that made any sense within the story arc of season 1. Season 2 has become a body count.

Yes, your loyalty to Boone is legendary. Keep up the good work.
BTW - I meant to put this in the Episode discussion thread but never got to it. Did anyone else notice the tone of Lockes voice when he delivered that line to Eko, "A sacrifice the island demanded......" It was almost as though even Locke himself doesn't believe it anymore.
As for the original post in this thread, "BRING BACK BOONE!!!!!!", I say we get JJ back and many of these things may very well take care of themselves. Just my .02. ;)

I thought that Locke's tone re "the island demanded a sacrifice" was in juxtaposition to Locke's infamous statement from last season: "Boone was a necessary sacrifice." The season 1 statement reflected a horrible belief that Boone's (or anybody's) death was one small step toward the eventual truth. The season 2 statement reflected futility, folly, and a gosh darn moment of insight that all this number/button pushing was all about nothing but an old lonely man's search for importance. I am rooting for Locke to feel this way and do something else about it. I like Eko but wish he would offer Locke a promotion out of the guilty soil.

Locke (IMO) thought Boones death was a heroic sacrifice for entering the hatch.
Fake Henry telling him he didn't push the numbers (IMO) made locke question this a little, thus saying the island demanded boones life.
now locke knows the hatch is a hoax. How does he feel about boones death now?

In reference to the poll which has mysteriously stepped foot on land, I voted yes. He was important to the plot arc and development of other characters in season one. Was he important in and of himself? I think he would say yes.

who else would have brought Jack a handfull of pens to make a trake.
even though he was a little naive, he was an important character.

Boone may or may not be coming back, but I have!
This is Boonian Androphile talking to you all from the Aslan and Idgie communication network. A&I is my sister, whom I am visiting in the great state of Michigan. Quite soon we are heading to Lake Michigan to open up the family cottage. I could have logged on my own name, but I wanted to encourage A&I to post more often because it's such a fun experience. Maybe we will post together in the future. She remains a little tentative. She likes Jack btw. Also probably a Sawyer fan. Hates Ana Lucia. She voted that Vincent is the better actor.
See you all Sunday or Monday. Go Pistons! Dont make me hate you!

Boone was awsome. I miss him. And I think he was important. He found the beach craft, and he was hot!!! LOL
boonian androphile
05-24-06, 01:55 AM
And dont forget!---he was hot!
But he had the same problem as Micheal and Claire, if there's family on the Island the character is never developed as an individual.
We may never know what went on with him and his nanny, why he felt the need to be so useful to everyone. Shannon threw out a lot of clues, but they were never followed up.
It really wasn't fair to ditch him after Maggie left, he did have a life apart from her.
