Hey, I'm new to this message board, so I'm sorry if this has already been explained by somebody, but in White Rabbit, Jack's following the hallucination of his dead father, right? Okay. So then he goes and he finds his father's coffin and beats it to smitherreans, right? Okay. But the coffin was empty, right?
This is where I am confused. Is Jack's father still alive? Did the island bring him back? Did the body fall out when the plane crashed? But if so, then why was the coffin closed and in good condition?
Help me out here people, I'm LOST on this one.

It's a mystery. You didn't miss an explanation. It's one of the mysteries that make you wonder if the forces on the island were operating on the characters before they ever got to the island.
