Not sure if this has been posted yet, but the others hatch "the door" aparantly leads to an underwater hatch. The writers of lost were going to use this in an earlier episode but decided to include it in the finale. There is a lot of specualtion about this spoiler, but i assure you it is real. Proof include the shark with the "orions belt" dharma logo on, ethans murder from the waters and the sea very close to the others camp (if you look closely at the promo where sayid breaks through the doors you can see water in the background). I would like your thoughts on this.

Yeah a younger person speculated the underwater hatch in a thread.

If this is a genuine spoiler, it should be posted in the spoiler section so that those of us who don't like spoilers don't read it. :no-no: If not, don't assure us it's a genuine spoiler.

I concur.
Here's an interesting article about Lost that appears in a Honolulu newspaper. Among other things, there is some discussion of the Lost production possibly using/refurbishing an underwater production tank used by Baywatch Hawaii next season:

This must be where the rope thing was leading too that sayid used to follow into the jungle the first time he met the french lady?

This is something I mentioned earlier. Wasn't the rope thing closer to the Lostie's camp? You would think that the "rope" and the hatch would be fairly close to each other.
The OP states spoiler and that's enough for me. Moving to Spoilers.

nothing can be assured and none of that "evidence" is proof of anything. they're on an island, yeah, it makes sense to make camp near water. the shark logo and the ethan murders are inconclusive. this is speculation at its worst, pawned off as truth.
shdwrlm66, you do not have to post EVERY theory or "spoiler" you read, because this time of the year its 97% BS and 3% possibly true. If you feel the overwhelming need to post spoilers, post them from reputable sources. This does not include personal blogs by fans, IMDB, or other message boards by fans who dont know any more than we do.

It was close to the losties camp, but who's to say the cable didn't stretch the entire lenght of the island, if indeed it was a power cable. Maybe it leads from an underwater hydro-station which generates electricity to power all of the hatches??

Not a major power cable at that size I'm affraid. The Swan blast doors, computer and possible electro magnet would need some major juice to power them. Could be used for some kind of underwater sensor/monitoring equipment/shark monitoring equipment

in a recent podcast TPTB kinda laughed at the idea about the underwater hatch theories, so my money on there not being one,
let me apologize in advance for how this is going to sound, but has anyone ever noticed that when ever people speculate about island theories like an underwater hatch etc. they always come up with nonsense words that really don't mean anything, that they could never accurately explain. because we all know that there are lots of great underwater hydro electromagnetic sensoring shark monitoring devises.
while I am not completely dismissing those theories because the stuff on the island needs to get electricity and power from somewhere, and that big chord Sayid found sure looked electrical, but how do you get from that to underwater hydro electromagnetic sensoring shark monitoring devises. is just out there

Oh my gosh. Another great UNSUBSTANTIATED post by this initiator. Would be nice is at least one post would ave some real meat to it. Not attacking the poster, just the lack of real value to these posts. At least give us how this source is an expert. What is their track record on spoilers?

" » Survivors from tail section of plane are discovered; only five of 23 are still alive"
how do we know that the ones taken by the others are dead? they are just not with the group.

I was thinking... submerged sonar buoy to detect things in the water, something similar to a submarines towed array device if you've heard of them, or even some submerged proximity sensors, used to establish a boundary around the island - for example, shark gets too close, its gets a shock n turns back, hence doesn't swim off around the world. None of these things are rocket science (Shark one is high tech admittedly but achievable)... How did the others know where the raft was after such a long time at sea, with a big sail n wind? It was a good few miles off shore? This is theory admittedly but makes sense to me.

It would have been a cool idea but really it didn't fit in to the story of this season.

The underwater hatch, ... when Desmond floated up to shore and he lay, unconsciencious at the water's edge, there was a ridge and a rectangular light under the water. I watched a taped version of the episode and I saw this in slow motion, or frame by frame. Anyone else catch this?
The episode's real time of that scene went too fast and you were distracted by other things to notice what I think could be a window of another hatch door.
My LOST media is not running or else I'd have a screen capture for ya

Since the other's hatch is actually a dirt wall, I guess this "spoiler" is Mr. Bumpied.

Errggh. This is the only screen cap I can find of the scenes where I saw what I thought was a hatch window. The lighted rectangle in the surf was surrounded by what looked like a wave, but the wave didn't move.
Can anyone help me find another screen cap?

Oh, no, no no. This screen cap doesn't show the lighted hatch window that I saw. Is there another place for screen caps? I only know of Lost Media.
Can some one find a photo of the full body of Des on the beach. The lighted hatch window I saw is by his feet.

Oh this is it this is it. Do you notice the white angular shape that is by Des's feet? If I had a fuller shot, then you'd see a rectangle that resembles the Swan hatch's window that Locke and Boone first found.
What do ya think?

guys, the image in the top right is this thing, im sure you've all seen it, it's called the sun. the frame is just a double exposure and you're seeing the sun. no, big, deal.
and anyone who lives on the beach like i do knows that the sunlight just happens to reflect off rocks when it's bright. i know it's a crazy thought, but when TPTB want us to see an underwater hatch, if there even IS one, they will make it a bit more prominent.

Desmond is lying on the shore on an exposed coral reef. This reef is sometimes entirely covered by sand depending on the time of the year.
When the reef is exposed the "nooks & crannies" fill up with water creating tidepools.
I think what you are seeing is the sun's reflection on the tidepool.

This is the second time I thought I saw something and I couldn't prove it. I video tape the episodes and rewatch them later. I do stop action, frame by frame movement so maybe I create my own illusions with it. I hope I don't but I could by elongating 5 seconds into 2 minutes. I can't put my own video screen cap on line to show what I've seen. I end up thinking it is a conspirousey (sp?) that there are no screen caps of what I saw. I think TPTB are purposely hiding something.

Yes, they broadcast a specially altered episode onto only your TV screen, then they mess with your equipment so you can't get your own screencaps, so that they can follow your posts and chuckle over your Cassandra Syndrome.
:rotfl:
Just kiddin, dude. :D
But no, I don't see it either. Probably you just really wanted to see something, and your eyes tricked ya. Happens to the best of us.
Or maybe you'll turn out to be right, and you can come back to this thread and revel in new-found fame and glory

Thanks, one day all the crap I think I see, well, it will be there. My LOST dream is that on the reruns of the future, we will see all the clues and they will be highlighted somehow. So we can say, Oh yeah, I was right, I knew it.

But thanks a lot.
I think that happens all the time, 9mile monster. Your eyes can play tricks on you from time to time. No harm, no foul in my book. As long as others see, or don't see in this case, what you're talking about, it's worth the second, or third, or more look. :)
