View Full Version : Enhanced LOST Viewing Experience

Some of us here on the board are wanting a “better viewing experience” during each episode of Lost (or whenever we chat), so a couple of us have come up with The Lost Beer/Snack of the week. What this means is that when we watch Lost, the people involved would buy the same beer and/ or snack that is posted in the banner (like the one here (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/japippin/johnnie/LOST/userbar235706mc5.gif)), and that we would also perhaps be found within the chatroom or set up a conference area during the show (Some of us have already started doing this just in case the boards jam up and we would still be able to chat. Yahoo has messenger, for example, as a conference area.) ETA: This way, some people that live farther away than others can at least have some sort of similar experience together, if you would like. Another ETA: This should not exclude anyone since we have a snack included as well. During the summer there will still be Lost reruns, and so the banner would be changed on a weekly basis beginning each Monday, just like during season 3 and so on. If you would like to get in on the action, you can just reply to this thread. Of if you do not want to let others know your email address (which is totally acceptable) and want to set up a conference area, you may PM myself (http://www.losttv-forum.com/forum/member.php?u=40) and I will set it up. Remember, this is all for the fun of it! Thanks for listening! And party responsibly!

Sounds like a plan. Thanks Johnnie! I'm going to sticky this for a week-ish (not very long as the season is coming to an end) so that everyone can see it without it having to constantly be bumped. I know that a good number of the people in here are in chat when LOST airs so everyone feel free to join in!

Johnnie and Mary, you're welcome. Hopefully this will attract many here on the forums. Even if you don't visit chat, or a yahoo conference, while LOST is on, you can still drink, or snack on, the same things the rest do while watching! Simple, effective and interactive. Gotta love it! ;)

And yes, please give suggestions for a snack!
Some may be asking, "What the hell does he mean by that?" Well, we won't know much about future episodes, but when we enter the Summer re-runs, we already know what happened during the episode. Therefore, if they're re-running the episode where Hurley got caught with the Ranch Dressing, you could suggest something that would require, or use, Ranch Dressing. Frog legs anyone? :) Then there's the episode where Hurley and Libby destroyed his stash, so you could suggest chips, peanut butter, stuff like that.
This is where everyone comes into play. We're all from all around the world so if we know who a certain episode pertains to, we could choose something from where they're from (nationality, region, etc). Hopefully we can tune this over the summer and be ready to go full bore in S3!

I have added the snack of the week as well. Again, this will change each week (it may get a little lax during the summer but will go strong beginning next season. This week's is a big test run with the finale and all!). Exactly...and it was a rerun! Wait til the new season starts! Like having many people over to watch LOST except that they all inhabiting different living rooms all over. Once S3 comes back, we are hoping this will get bigger! :)

We may have the same stuff for this week, only because there are reruns and a lot of people aren't around during the summer hiatus. For now, the choices will more than likely change every two weeks. Now in the Fall, that will definately change though.

That's putting it nicely IMHO. They're fine during the regular season when some viewers have been away from LOST for an extended period, but they're more than completely useless during the Summer Re-run. I say they show The 23rd Psalm twice! You can never get enough of Hollywood screwing up one of the most famous scriptures on national TV IMHO. :) As a Catholic, you should appreciate that Mary. ;)
Unsticking for now. We'll revisit this once LOST gets ready to gear up for S3. The idea of keeping this stickied for the re-runs kinda ran into a roadblock when the re-runs stopped.

Yes, it's that time of the year again when we hunker down and get ready for business. I have stuck this back up in the sticky area to see how it is going to go at the beginning of a season, and not towards the end.
Several of the members of the forum have either tried to get people together, tried to set up a "convention" type arrangement to meet and great fellow LOST lovers, or actually have meet with members during the show. I commend you all.
Since some of us can't go to Cali. or Hawaii or wherever, this is what we proposed late last year. An Enhanced LOST viewing experience, with THX of course.

Yes, only because some people will want to just stay in the LOST chat room, which is fine. The Yahoo chat will be a round table per se, but if the person wants to be in both, that is fine too. Whether I am there or not, I think that I will still buy the beer and pizza and at least join you in spirit. We, as a family, always try to do something special for LOST night. This seems like a lot of fun. A way to talk about the show without being intimidated by the HUGE chat that I've heard about on Wednesday nights.

Sorry all. I have been sick with the flu, and only able to do one thing at a time. No excuse really.
Anyways, the new beer/snack is up. L P-Ups should be proud. Muffins and/or pastries are the snack.

Nice choice juanbong! Very nice choice. I have a nice bottle of white wine in the fridge now, that will do nicely. Strawberries aren't at their best, but with this wine they'll do wonderfully.

guys :( I'm not certain why...but, my yahoo! chatter's been giving me the message that the "server's down" and that I should "try connecting again"...this is after shutting down the computer numerous times between shows... etc... I never get the invitations to join you guys :(

Hello folks! I haven't been around the past couple days since I got sick on Saturday and just finally had my fever break last night. I hope everyone is excited about tonight's episode and once I get back to better health, I will be around more. Take care and enjoy tonight's LOST!!!!!
