I'm sure this thread will get locked as soon as it is posted but I for one am happy that NONE of the spoilers were even close to being authentic. Made it a lot more interesting to watch . 5 minutes into it and I could relax and enjoy the show And why even bother locking it. ITS OVER !!!! Stop trying to be over controlling. Let it go.

I would rather make a list of all the fake spoiler sources. All the "insiders" that just made up theories and claimed they knew first hand what was going to happen.
They will do the same next season. I know because I have a final draft of their script. ;)
I don't think insiderscoop was wrong, but he sure gets points for making a good show sound dumb, and extra points for not telling the ending.
Don't forget, the spoiler sources also have to deal with our love/hate complex regarding spoilers!

Actually, while watching the finale, I thougt 'I've read all that before'. The electromagnet causing the plane to crash, Desmond killing Kelvin.. It was all here, months ago already.

It was all here, months ago already.well the electro maget causing the plane to crash info ,technically wasn't' a spoiler, it was a widely held theory that turned out to be right. one that I disbelieved vehemently until I saw it on the show. and I was very pleased I was wrong
of course the question remains, how did the others know a plane was coming down and where it would be in order to nab up the survivors

Whatever. You obviously don't read spoilers. 1/2 of them were spot on. Leaks.
Volney said it right. Insiderscoop's scoop was money, he simply made it sound far more boring than it was.

The Mods should have locked/deleted many of the threads started by people like shdwrlm66. Most knew they were BS and most didn't even have any sources to back them up yet these threads were allowed to stay open. I hope next season they moderate the Spoilers forum a little better and set down some rules for posting spoilers here.

Correct, shdwrlm66 and shredder litered the spoiler forum with every thought and speculation they came across and posted them as spoilers.
Hopefully the mods will keep their names in mind next season.
I think the TPTB actually decided to soak the 'net with foilers on purpose.

What? I read two spoilers at LEAST on this board alone which were SPOT ON about the finale. What on earth have you been reading?
The call sheet was very detailed and entirely true. InsiderScoop's synopsis was also, he did a point by point on the episode. You must have been reading the wrong spoilers.
OMG its LFG

welcome back to spoilers KF2
Yeah, most of them were wrong, but Insiderscoop is always right.
And, one said Desmond said there is no humanity left, which he did, but it was not as big a deal as the spoiler made it out to be.
i agree the call sheet was totally acurate, although we speculated a few things that happened differently than alot thought... like desmond asking libby for 42,000... we thought she was completly involved and he was planning on buying boat from her, when in reality he was joking when asking her for it.
also with eko and charlie and the dynamite in the hatch, alot of people assumed they found another new hatch, an underwater hatch which was fanned even more by the epi description about discovering something odd just offshore.
all in all i was not spoiled in the finale by anything i read except for the stuff on the call sheet.

Well, I head it from some guy. When he had lunch with Lindelof. Honest to God. If ya'll don't believe me, wait until next season, when there is egg all over your faces. As soon as Michelle Rodriguez's cellmate gets out, she'll tell you. LostforGood is just trying to be mean for no reason.

Well, problem is, it's hard to tell if someone is really BS-ing until the episode airs. Although I'm sure the mods track users and IP addresses and try to weed out the known foilers.

If someone can't or won't post their sources then it shouldn't be here, its as simple as that.

Sometimes the source may be... sensitive (like maybe they work for the production company or whatever, and may get in trouble). I say always take a new spoiler-poster with a grain of salt, wait until they are proved wrong, then have no mercy :D

zerokarma, you opinion will be taken into consideration. However, we also took into consideration the opinions of the many, many people who felt we should lift the ban on Mr. Bumpy. They were disappointed as well.

Shdwrlm66 completley filled up the spoiler forum with crap! I was getting tired of all the theories! We seriously need to make sure everyone knows that they don't need to post every theory they see. They are not spoilers!!!

A lot of them were correct. For example, we knew weeks in advance that it was going to be Desmond's flashback. Someone also posted pictures of the set that was used in Three Minutes and in the Finale.
Plus, if you found the episode more enjoyable because the spoilers were wrong, maybe you shouldn't read spoilers. Don't want to be aggressive or anything, it's just a suggestion. I, for one, am not going to read any spoilers at least for the beginning of Season 3. I've almost forgotten the feeling of watching an episode of LOST without knowing whose flashback it is.

That was my main complaint, Shdwrlm66 posted absolute garbage here, not just one thread but many fake ones with his speculation crap that were not spoilers at all yet the mods left all these threads open and did nothing about it.
Threads made by people like that should be indentified faster and locked or removed. I can only hope that after the season finale aired you banned Shdwrlm66.

Nope, he's still at large.

Let's not forget a thread created on May 2nd called Episode 20 deaths, where CKY told the exact truth about what would happen in the May 3rd, and May 10th episodes, with 75% of the readers not believing him and ONE IN PARTICULAR, won't name names, they flamed the hell out of him and when all was said and done, didn't apologize for the extreme rudeness they used. they even kept flaming his future posts. I know that there have been many foiler makers, but it's no excuse for people to completely just flame flame flame and be downright nasty. There should be discipline against the foilers, and against the flamers. Isn't that part of the rules? Spoilers or not, noone should be flamed so heavily like that on any of the boards. Anyone know if CKY is still around?

I find myself enjoying the fake spoilers, if they're well done.
First, I enjoy reading them and envisioning what's described, discussing it, and thinking about how good the episode will be.
Second, I enjoy watching the actual episodes and being pleasantly surprised when what appears in the episode bears very little / no resemblance to the spoilers.
It's like getting two episodes for the price of one!

My hardest day WAS always Wednesday. I work evenings until 11:00 PM . Of course I have the DVR set to record but its tough to not log onto the internet or call Mrs Shumway at home to see whats going on. I still was taking off work 30 minutes early on Wednesday to get home and watch the show. At least I'll be making an extra $15 a week until October :-)
If someone can't or won't post their sources then it shouldn't be here, its as simple as that.
Well, that is the rule. And when I see a Spoiler Post made without a source, a credible source, I'll lock it. However, sometimes other posters try to be helpful and follow that original post with a credible source that touches on what the original post was about. That's when I find myself in a gray area, to say the least.
Hey, we're only human and not a one of us is perfect, myself included. :) We try.
Sometimes the source may be... sensitive (like maybe they work for the production company or whatever, and may get in trouble).
I appreciate this, but honestly, if they're that involved in the show, they really don't need to be posting here because they know beforehand that they're not going to be able to list a source.
Every one of the spoilers posted here without a source (with the exception of InsiderScoop and a couple other known posters) was false leading up to the finale. Yes, there are a couple of posters here I allow to post without a source, but that's because I know them or at the very least, their reputation, and those I afford that freedom have never let us down.
Everything posted in here is taken on a case by case basis. There is no way we're going to make a blanket statement and hold everyone to that in the same way. Even the "No Posting False Spoilers" is applied on a case-by-case basis. It's not favoritism, although I can see where a case for that could be made.
I just gained the responsibility of the Spoiler Forum after we made the move from EZ Boards back in November, so I'm still learning as well. That's why I allow any post/thread that I make regarding the rules around here to remain open, to allow for discussion. That's the only way we can make this forum the best it can be IMHO.

Right on.
And i think you're doing a good job :D, this has got to be one of the hardest sub-forums to moderate, because of all the grey-area involved.
I know that there have been many foiler makers, but it's no excuse for people to completely just flame flame flame and be downright nasty.
I agree. Yeah, sometimes these foiler-posters are true buttmunchers, but I try to at least keep my mockery a little light and playful, not be downright mean.
Although I know that some of the spoiler-forum veterans have, understandably, a LOT less patience (coughcoughLostforGoodcoughcough). :rotfl:
(P.S. LFG: I'm just messing with you, babe, don't blame you a bit :D)
