Did anyone notice the look that Walt got while Mike was hugging him? It looked somewhat deceptive...
I got the same feeling watching that scene. It just felt a bit manipulative and deceptive to me.
Perhaps Walt has been turned or has always been with the Others (really reaching there)? But how else would he had known about the buttons and try to convince them not to press them if he didn't know where and what they did?

Good point, why would Walt warn them off pushing the button?
Also, remember he told Locke NOT to open the hatch! He freaked out about it. So if he is a psychic or "special" as Tom calls him, why would he be so adamant about the hatch and button?
Was that merely the writer's way to add some mystery into the story, to show us that Walt has special abilities, or is there something else, completely different, we don't know about the hatch...
I can't see how entering the hatch and pushing the button have led to anything directly related to something bad. Push the button: everything continues on the island.

Yeah it was weird...the whole time I kept waiting for someone to pull out a gun and shoot Michael.....then when nothing happened, I was like "Oh no don't tell me Walt has a gun and is going to shoot him", but then nothing happened and I felt stupid for a show giving me that much anxiety.

Push the button: everything continues on the island.
And you can't leave and can't get rescused, right?

Y'all seem to be taking a huge leap of faith in assuming that "Walt was warning them from pushing the button." I didn't hear that on any of the broadcast audio.
Sure, if you run it backwards and listen closely, it says what it says (button bad, etc). That I think, is digging too far and confusing yourself with the results.
In true Indiana Jones/Robert Langdon fashion, I ask...if he said it backwards, couldn't it mean the opposite?

I thought it was weird that Walt didn't acknowledge any of the other losties. I know he wasn't as close to them as his own dad but I thought he would say their name or something? he just seemed awfully quiet to me. hmmm

I personally think Fenry knows they will never get away from the Island. Didn't he say to Jack in the Hatch, They will NEVER give you Walt? Why would they give Walt back, I don't think they would have made a U turn on this so quickly, unless they knew Walt was going nowhere.

Maybe Walt isn't bad...maybe he just knows what's going to happen and is saddened.
Hell, I'm saddened and I here I am sitting in my office, typing on the LostTV forum.

I didn't like the situation... they just gave up Walt because he was a handful? After they had just asked Michael so many questions and made him and his powers seem so important? I really thought that Walt was going to shank his dad in the back right then and there.

I thought Walt seemed awfully subdued, too.
And I found it odd that he stayed curled up on the boat the whole time the blast happened and all the stuff was going down with J/S/K and Michael on the dock.
Didn't he hear his dad's voice??

Is Walt HIM? Perhaps Walt has become the mastermind!
