AMNESIA, PEANUT BUTTER & MAGNETS

Ok, here is a sci-fi speculation attempting to tie together amnesia, peanut butter and magnets.

The peanut butter thing is bugging me and I've been thinking about it all day. I think Claire was attempting to butter up to Charlie (no pun intended) by bringing up the peanut butter. She brought it up after reading her journal. I think earlier Claire wrote about the peanut butter banter but never wrote the word "imaginery". She made a mistake.

Here's a sci-fi explanation. Her memory has been erased. Meaning her memory now is a data file. Magnets near computers (I think) can erase the data. So maybe she is not the "original" Claire. This is a Claire duplicate - a copy, robot, and all the rest.

Thinking of what Black Dahlia's wrote: needle to get amniotic fluid, all the missing hairbrushes, Ethan's double personality and quick change clothes...

I dunno - just a thought...

at this point, I'm losing interest in the show a bit. Dissappointed. Not that I expect all the pieces to come together right now, but really...how much more can a viewer take? do you feel any closer to understanding what is going on?

I don't really think that cloning is that necessary. What if she was threatened to not tell what Ethan did, made up an act and stopped acting, and said she remembered peanutbutter. But remember this is just a show anything is possible....

I agree wholeheartedly on this,plus all the rerun episodes the show is becoming an advertisement slut.

Playing devil's advocate here - If Claire is now a clone of the original, then please explain the following:

1) How did they also duplicate the pregnancy ?

2) Why did Ethan want Claire back, if he still has the original Claire ?

Good questions. I have no idea.

All I can say is the answer may not make sense in our reality of how we here on planet earth understand things or how we westerners perceive things.

My b/f thinks there is a parallel reality happening on the island - in that there are 2 of everybody. He doesn't call them clones or twins.

There are a few pseudo science answers then:

- when the plane was crashing they passed through a hole or another dimension. (Read Ionous's thread on "Invisible monster.") It's a 4th and 5th dimension answer.

- there also is the aboriginal dream time theory explaining how one person can be at two places at the same time.
