The 2004-2005 Craphole Island Fighting Association rankings:


1. Locke - assumming he has military special operations experience that is hinted at. Despite being fiftysomething, a man trained in these arts is a killing machine as long as they're able to walk. If he doesn't have this training, relegate him to the middle of the pack.

2. Michael - muscular, hot-tempered, and African-American. May have engaged in numerous street fights growing up, and years of construction work kept his muscles hard and testosterone levels high. If he didn't fight much as a youth, however, knock him down a couple ranks.

3. Jin - seems to have some sort of ass-kicking background, even though he has shown no proficiency in any Oriental martial arts. With cheekbones like that he can probably take a hit, too.

4. Sawyer - probably grew up fighting on the streets sue to his being orphaned at a young age. He seems to be able to withstand plenty of punishment, and is scrappy to boot.

5. Sayid - has extensive military training, but he's not exactly large of frame or well-built. Still, he's a trained killer, yet long hair can lose one an otherwise even fight.

6. Hurley - probably has the martial skills of a fishwife, but is built like a sumo wrestler. Physics gives him the edge not only because he outweighs the other contenders vy at least 100 pounds, but also because any fist thrown his way will decelerate through a cushion of adipose tissue before delivering any of its momentum. He'll lose any fight of attrition though.

7. Jack - just an average, athletic guy. May have taken some boxing classes after being bullied as a child, but years of surgical training left him little room to develop skills to become more than an average fighter.

8. Boone - yeah, I know, it seems like even Claire's fetus could kick his ass. But he's young, in reasonable shape if not exactly built, and has a bit of a temper. Despite his buffoonery, he has toughened up and become more focused under Locke's tutelage, and his repressed anger is a ticking time bomb.

9. Rose - has the weight thing going for her as well as her ethnic background. If she was protecting her hypothetical child, she would be ranked a few notches higher.

10. Charlie - sorry, Charlie. He has probably engaged in a bit of hooliganism, and is quite scrappy, but he is small, slight of build, and out of shape due to years of drug addiction. He'd be ranked a few notches higher if he was protecting his hypothetical girlfriend, assuming he'd be able to tap into the berzerker gene his ancestors passed down to him.

11. Kate - probably has some sort of martial training, and a higher-than-average testosterone level. But she's outweighed greatly by all but a few contenders.

12. Sun - may have done some tai-chi or something back in the day, and seems like a strong-willed if not strong woman. Seems tough enough to take a lot of abuse.

13. Shannon - probably fights with slaps and fingernails, and throws in the towel if one of the latter breaks.

14. Claire - even if she wasn't weakened by pregnancy, she seems quite docile and more of a lover than a fighter. Take away the preg and you still have a nancy. Probably could be ranked a couple notches higher if she tapped into the afformentioned berzerker gene due to her baby being threatened, but for now she's staying pregnant and weak. Any overt aggression would probably induce labor and she'd have to take a TKO.

15. Walt - he's still a kid. His fighting skills haven't fully descended yet.


Unranked:

Danielle - would fall somewhere in the middle of the pack due to spendign over 16 years living ferally, but has not entered into contention. Yet.

Ethan - "ATBCHDI"'s Ethan would be ranked #1, or at least tied for first. But "Homecoming"'s Ethan clearly deserved no more than a lower-middle ranking, and Charlie permanently disqualified him from contention anyway.

The Monster - only humans are permitted to contend for the CIFA title. Would be ranked #1, but strangely enough Walt would be the only one who could defeat him.

Vincent - as above, except would only be able to beat Walt, Claire, and Shannon.

The extras - have not entered into contention. Yet.
