did locke have something to do with claire's amnesia...
look back... after clair appears, we see locke presenting her to the group. we don't see what he does in between. and the camera was locked on his very intense, campfire lit face while claire was revealing that she remembered nothing...
i felt like it was more than just interest in claire's story...
i got the feeling that locke was hoping or making sure that she could not remember anything after the crash or definitely while she was with ethan... another one of locke's magic oatmeal?, he seems to be very familiar with the pharmacopoeia of the jungle...

i feel like the less people know what is really going on, the more the group depends on locke and the more he can control how the group progresses on this journey/walk about...

that sounds possible...in the same manner, what if Locke is just a 'tour guide' so to speak and actually works for Ethan and his group? Maybe Locke is just supposed to bring the survivors around for some sort of safari hunt for the 'others' to enjoy the thrill of the hunt? Locke had wanted to do his 'destiny' when he wanted to do the survival thing, but was turned down. In a later episode he says, "destiny found me". Perhaps when he looked into the eye of the island, it was revealed to him to lead the survivors (unkowingly to the survivors of course) on some sort of island safari hunt for Ethan's group to manipulate and harrass? Ethan and his camp are the 'superior' race, and the survivors are just 'animals' to them. And Locke orchestrates the whole thing from within.

whom did claire stumble upon at the end of the episode before last night?
did she run into locke and boone or someone else...
if it was someone else that totally destroys my theory...
im getting confused.

I also think that Locke MAY have something to do with Claire's amnesia.... because why would Claire be trying to escapse if she didn't remember that she was in danger?

Yes, it was Locke and Boone that she ran into, so knowing that, and going along with this theory that Locke someow caused Claire's memory loss, is it possible that Locke has also caused Boone's weird behavior? If Boone saw Locke "take away" Claire's memory, you'd think he would say something to everyone else. Maybe Locke has already brainwashed Boone, and is slowly going to brainwash everyone, so that eventually he will rule all and get rid of people that don't/can't be brainwashed (kind of Hitler-like, isn't it?). Boone's behavior has changed since the hatch-thing and the stuff Locke put on Boone's head.

I don't know...just a thought process.
