Is Ethan just a little stronger than a normal man? In the previews this week, Ethan has Charlie by the throat and lifts him off the ground a good foot,and did it with one hand.Charlie is small but still must weigh in over 120lbs .What's your take on this?

Judging from his fight with Jack(which may or may not have actually happened) I'd think Ethan had some kind of combative training or the like.

Strong, but not super-human, or whatever.... He isn't holding Charlie up in the air. He has him pinned against a tree. That does not require nearly the same amount of strength. I couldn't tell from the previerw if he lifted him off the ground with one hand - but once pinned, one hand is believable.

like oswald said it certainly appeared that he was easily in control when fighting jack and there is something almost methodical about the way he handles himself, have to wonder if he is more than just a *normal* human being...

pinning charlie is one thing, also ethan, while dragging two grown ups behind him, easily keeps ahead of jack and kate. in addition, remember how difficult it was for kate to climb that tree to cut charlie down. somehow ethan got charlie hanging by the neck in that wet tree with no branches very quickly by himself. i dont think ethan got help from the others in this instance... i think there would have been whispers or some evidence of the others if this was the case.

Ethan is definately a Mutant - possibly a govt created Man/Freak hybrid. Ithink that he is told what to do by the island gods.
