View Full Version : What happens to the Spoiler Forum now? (Summer Hiatus discussion)

Welcome to the second LOST Summer Hiatus. :welcome: For the veteran posters here, this may seem like a statement of the obvious. (Sorry y'all, bear with me.) For the newer members of the Spoiler forum, this should let you know what's going to happen here during the Summer Hiatus.

Obviously the Spoiler Forum is going to stay active. Even though LOST is in Summer Hiatus, there are still going to be interviews as well as updates from various sources about the upcoming season. Anything related to S3 should be discussed here, and only here. That includes casting for S3, possible plot lines for S3, etc. We don't have any previews to go off of so everything at this point is pretty much a Spoiler. Nothing has been shown on TV (previews) or previously aired (again, previews) so it all belongs here.

We're going to leave this place pretty much open for the Summer. Feel free to speculate about what you already know, and what you will come to know in the coming weeks, here.

The "Posting of False Spoilers" rule is still in effect, however, and always will be. That doesn't change just because LOST is off the air for the summer.

One thing that will be ongoing is that we're going to be moving some of the older threads (there were 49 pages here) to the Archives during the summer. If you find a thread there that, for whatever reason, you'd like to see brought back here, just let myself or one of the other Spoiler mods know and we'll do so as long as you have a good reason for wanting it back in discussion.

As usual, please don't discuss Spoilers outside of this forum. We're going to be letting discussion "go" more than usual during the summer. However, please do NOT turn the Spoiler Forum into a second T&S forum. That we won't allow. As long as the discussion is based upon the upcoming season of LOST, and the possible Spoilers there-in, it's fine.

I'll leave this thread open for comments/questions/ideas/etc. This is my first Summer Hiatus running the Spoiler forum so all ideas/thoughts/criticisms/etc are welcome.

Thanks all and enjoy the "downtime."

sorry, no sarcasm at all. i'm a bit foggy. if we discuss theories for s3 here, they will not be considered as foilers? or is there a more appropriate area to speculate on s3 that COULD contain spoilers... it just seems that we will probably get a lot of false info and i want to avoid getting banned for discussing what MAY happen as opposed to what WILL happen

Well, we're going to get a lot of false info leading up to S3, that's for sure. However, speculating about things isn't really "foilers" so to speak. A foiler would be someone posting something as fact, rather than speculation. Yes, it's a grey area and that's why I've left this thread open. We're going to be extremely lenient during the Hiatus about "foilers" simply because there's so much time before S3 starts. As usual, False Spoiler posts are taken on a case by case basis but I wouldn't really worry about all that at this moment in time. I for one am going to enjoy a few months of not actually having to track down links, sources, etc for every post. However, everyone please do your best to provide sources, as usual.

Basically, it's a good time for everyone to play around (as it were) and just enjoy discussing what they'd like to see in S3 etc. I apologize if my original post sounded a tad harsh, it wasn't intended that way. :)

Because I've received a couple of emails and PMs about it, remember y'all, only 2 people here have ever been banned for posting false spoilers and one of them was the one who caused that rule to come into effect. The other was just a one off, someone just trying to be an ass.

thanks for clarifying, leuthen. i also just had a good idea while looking through cousin eddie's, what about a "foiler area" like to post things we hear, but KNOW aren't real, or maybe just to store some of the more outrageous foilers from the past?

I'm taking you to mean that the first person was Mr. Bumpy (I have no idea who the second one was, was it shhhh?)?

Are there any whimsical thoughts about the "foiler" he posted the time that got him banned, was actually the only true spoiler he posted?

(I'm not calling for him to be re-instated, I just think it's vaguely amusing).

Yes, the first was Bumpy. It was a retroactive ban, if you will. Something completely out of my hands.

The second was someone who posted those pics of a false interview, IIRC.

Shhhhh was just our resident troll (TiVo) and was just causing trouble as usual.

It's not something we do lightly, nor without reason. Not only are the mods here part of the discussion, the admins are as well.
