View Full Version : More than one Ethan?

I have a far fetched theory: is there more than one Ethan?

When Charlie told him to get Jack on the path while Claire was in pain, Ethan took off, quickly. Then he showed up with that evil look on his face and said "hello" like it was the first time he saw them.

When Jack is tracking the trio through the woods, Ethan confronts him. Well, how did Charlie and Claire stay occupied? I guess he could have tied them up, but would he have taken that chance?

If Ethan is a construct of the island, or black rock, perhaps more than one can be churned out. Or maybe he's a clone of some sort. Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if after he dies (as many of us have indicated we think he will), he shows up again.

I hope this wasn't too weak or useless, since this is my first attempt at posting a new topic. Be gentle with me!

It is a definite possibility. If they do manage to kill him, I hope that Jack performs an autopsy.

i still like my theory where they are possesed and the "it" that Danielle so commonly states is them being "possesed" - like they dont know that they are doing evil, etc

Hey, I just watched the "Raised by another" episode again, and it hit me. Could Hurley be the "main Ethan"? I mean, I know Hurley talked to Ethan and stuff, about the manifest, but it seems plasible. Hurley just doesn't go by the name of "Ethan" because that would be weird, and Hurley looks alot different than the other ones.

I know, sounds stupid...

Er... I hope there isn't more than one Ethan!, it would be kind of cool though. I don't think Ethan is all human, or at least he has been genetically altered in some way, due to his super human strength. Perhaps he also has the ability to move very fast and this allows him to do things faster than the average human. As for Hurley being one of the Ethans... well I really don't think there's enough evidence pointing to this. It's hard for us to believe that Hurley didn't have any alterior motives in creating a manifest, but perhaps he was really just concerned about keeping track of the islanders, just as he was concerned people were bored, and concerned about the lack of boar meat. I honestly don't think Hurley is hiding anything too shocking, it looks as if he has an episode coming up and from the pictures... well I don't want to post spoilers, but I think Hurley is way more normal than we suspect.

I've used the term automaton to describe Ethan. That hold he has Charlie by in the previews of Homecoming, can be definitely called a death-grip. And, if he is some type of "robot", there sure could be more than one. What about a whole army of Ethan's. How does that scare ya!

Freaky, but possible

Danielle tells Sayid about the Others - plural.

So, it doesn't have to be several Ethans, it just have to be a group of people. When Charlie tells Ethan to go get Jack, and Ethan takes off, it could have been that Ethan was running to get some of these Others Danielle mentioned, in order to help him take Claire. This would explain how Claire was kidnapped, Charlie was hung and Ethan was on hand to beat the spit out of Jack.

Now, about Ethan strength... go check drabauer's Unbreakable (http://p073.ezboard.com/flosttheunofficalforumfortheabcseriesfrm29.showMes sage?topicID=1127.topic) theory.

I'd forgotten Ethan does take off running. Your theory makes perfect sense. Ethan realizes Claire's in labor, and he runs off to both tell, and illicit additional help from the "Others".

So, can I assume you're not buying the idea that Jack's fight with Ethan was a hallucination?

Well, I'm not... but that doesn't mean it won't turn out to have been another episode of hallucination for our Jack.

It just makes much more sense to me the other way, that's all.

i have been toying with the idea of more than one ethan also. he has two different "looks". one rather soft and compassionate, and one rather evil and intense. notice that? and i even thought ethan is danielle's "lost" son, alex. so if there are clones, then do they need the baby for genetics? is the good ethan trying to hide the baby? you know how strong someone has to be to grip someones neck and raise them up one handed? sort of un-human strength. is the cloning done in the hatch? a whole new world under the island?? jj himself says he has seen some VERY close theories on the website, and some pretty far out. i would be willing to bet on the fact ethan dies next week and then re-appears. but i have other thoeries about who the dead one is.

Ethan had 2 different shirts.... this has been argued to death before. I'm in the camp of an armie of Ethans and that genetic material is running low.

I also believe Jack is hallucinating. Both ideas co-exist.
