I know this is a continuation of something already discussed...but I think the twist that just occurred to me is original...if not, feel free to just delete this or add it to another post.
Okay...so I've (and others) have stated before that Libby might be after Hurley because he won the lottery and she recognized the numbers he won with because she heard them as well in the psych hospital.
What if she wanted to find Hurley so badly though because she had also used the number to in some way get the wealth we know she and her husband had (either by playing the lottery, investing in stocks with those numbers, whatever...). If we believe her story about having money and have a boat and her husband being dead...it could mean that she too was cursed from using the numbers and that the curse killed her husband. She might have sought out Hurley for the same reasons that he sought out Sam (the other guy who used the numbers to win the contest). She could have wanted to warn him about the curse or to learn more about it (have it justified to her that it was real). When Hulrey didn't recognize her though...or when the numbers started showing up on the island, maybe she decided to stay quiet out of fear/embarressment/hesitation.
Just an idea...
