poker help

I'm going to a casino this weekend w/ a buddy and we're playing Texas Hold'em. Does anyone have any tips. I suck at poker. does bluffing actually work?

Internet poker is an entirely different game.

Computers can never be 'random' like in 'real life.' No matter what the computer has to be told by a mathematical way which cards to deal out.

Plus people on the internet are generally stupid and will call anything no matter what. If you raise pre-flop a lot of real money with pocket aces, people with 4 9 offsuited will probably call you. They don't care lol.

Plus, it's incredibly easy to cheat on the internet working with a teammate. But the free sites are a good way for a novice to learn the ins an outs of the game.

I'm embarrassed to say this but, the closest thing that I've played, remotely comparable to poker, would be Old Maid.

Yeah, if you're asking for help with Poker, I'd say give up until you learn how to play.

It's deceptively simple, but those who know how to play love to mess with a novice, and will take you for all you are worth.
