I'd like to get some help with a large project I have in mind. You know how we've got The Who's Who Guide to Lost (http://www.losttv-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=197559#post197559) thread? Its a thread that goes into some detail of the characters of the series. Well, what I'd like to do is expound on these little details.

Have you ever heard of a character-walkthrough? I've only seen one, and it wasn't complete. Here's a link (http://www.losttv-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5511)to the one I'm talking about. It's on Locke, and was started way back in S1. But, as I said, was never finished. I'd like for each major character to have a completed season 2 walkthrough. Starting from, Man of Science, Man of Faith to Live Together, Die Alone. Now some of you may say, shouldn't there be a season 1 walkthrough? Yes there should! But I figured since we're going through the summer rerun season anyway, it would be easier to do S2.

Now here's where you come in! I'd like to get 5 or 6 member-teams for each character to put these together. You'd meet via PMs and come up with a format and content. It doesn't have to be like the link. It could be in narative form as an example. Once completed, they'll be stickied in the individual forums on the Cast and Characters Discussion (http://www.losttv-forum.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=16) board. Now, if your team wants to put together a S1 walkthrough as well, you'd definitely get a job well done from me.

Just post in this thread which character-team you'd like to be on. And yes, you can be on more than one. :) Another point! Lets try and avoid a lot of, 'Sawyer took his shirt off again in this episode.' Or, 'Jack started crying again.' Or worse yet! 'Locke was his usual boobalious self again.' Also, there's no real time limit. Although, I'd like to have them stickied a month or so before S3 begins. So, what character are you going to sign up for? :)

Jin's Season 3 Character Walkthrough is now complete.

After following Jin through season 3, I know this is one of the guys I want on my side. He's brave and loyal -- a true friend, who will stand by you. At least that's what I think. :D

Another fine job CS. :love2:

And, you're right about Jin. You want him on your side when the going get tough. No hesitation on my part. ;)

ETA:...She goes on to tell him that she has never been with another man, and swears it is the truth. Jin accepts it as a miracle. They have a nice family moment, talking about the child’s name, and telling people the news. They are both trying to be considerate of each other...I've always wanted to discuss Jin's acceptance that the baby is his. Yeah, it was Dr. Kim who initially lied to him. But, Sun found out and never told him until this moment. We also find out later she did sleep with another man.

My question again. Why was Jin so accepting of Sun's story?

Why was Jin so accepting of Sun's story?
I know what you mean, Hodge. I thought about that when the episode aired and here are my conclusions.

First, I don't think that Jin ever suspected Sun's infidelity.

Second, Sun is a very clever person and is quite adept at lying. In this case, she told the best possible lie.

The easiest path for Sun to take was to allow Jin to continue his belief that the infertility problem was with Sun and not himself. She could tell him about the pregnancy and they could both come to the conclusion that it was a miracle. The problem with that was -- if they got rescued and it ever came to light that Jin was sterile, he would know she lied to him and cheated on him. She would lose him for sure.

Remember, her lover, Jae, is dead. The only person that could tell Jin about Sun's affair with Jae would be her father. If Paik, at a later date, told Jin about Sun's infidelity, Sun could convince Jin that Paik was lying in order to drive a wedge between them and manipulate their lives. However, she is probably banking on Paik never saying anything so as not to "shame" the family and his name.

So, clever Sun tells Jin that the infertility problem is with him and not her, tells him she is pregnant and has not been with another man.

Jin has to think -- if Sun had an affair and was pregnant with another man's child - why would she tell me the infertility problem is mine? (Such a statement points to Sun having an affair -- it calls into question her fidelity. By placing herself in this position - she actually gains his trust of her honesty!) So when the lie comes - "she's not been with another man" - Jin continues to trust the honesty of her statement.

Personally, I wonder if Juliet told Sun the truth. :D

Hey, don't assume that I'm like that because I understand or I think I understand Sun's devious thinking. :D

It's time once again to beat the bushes for interest in writing character walkthroughs. If you are writing a walkthrough for a character and would like to continue, please let me know. I am quite sure no one is slower than I am, so if you were working on one and are way behind, please don't even think about being embarrassed. I do have some folks that are interested in writing, but I don't want to step on the toes of any of our established authors.

Let me know by posting in this thread if you are working on a walkthrough for the character in this sub forum. And if you're not, but would like to, let me know her also. If we haven't heard from an original author in say, a week, then whoever is interested may have the honor. ;) This is on a first-come, first-served basis, so make sure to stake your claim early.

I'll do Jin's season 1 walkthrough.

That leaves only season 4 remaining.

There have been a few questions about how the character walkthroughs should be formatted. In order for them to serve their intended purpose as a reference for character actions, we will be maintaining certain standards for all walkthroughs.

1. The walkthroughs should be written in the third person.

2. The walkthroughs should be written by episode, in order of when the episodes aired. For a few of the characters, another format may be appropriate, but we will still need the text to appear under an episode title. Check with me first if you have a question on "your" character(s).

3. When posting, please "unclick" the box that says "show your signature." Or be like me, forget to do it, go back and edit in advanced mode and unclick it then. :D The absence of signatures will give the walkthroughs a much more professional look.

If you are new at writing walkthroughs and would to see examples, go to almost any character forum, look at the stickied threads at the top for the walkthrough, and read a few by different people. Our styles are different, but the basic outlines are the same.

You may add pictures and dialog copied from transcripts. Sometimes it just doesn't make sense to rewrite dialog when the transcript would better serve the purpose.

There has been some interest among some of our writers to write the walkthrough "through the eyes of the character." This will not work for the purpose of the walkthrough. However, it is still an intriguing idea, and if anyone would like to do this in addition to or instead of a walkthrough, I'm all for it. It's not high on my list of priorities, but I'm all for the creative process.

Don't hesitate to ask questions, either in a thread, or by PM. And please, be assured that your hard work is appreciated very much. :)
