Good I was hoping it wasn't a Jack flashback.

So a "Tale of Two Cities" does that have any relation to Kates constant shifting as a fugitive?Maybe?

I think it will likely cover her marriage or at least the courtship.

This would be two or three years after she killed Wayne (her biological father).

Here is a good overview. Having read the book, unsure where Kate fits in this, unless she is a Lucie Manette type. And if that is the case, wonder if the two men are Jack and Sawyer, or others in her past. If someone dies for her, I assume it relates to her past as I doubt they kill off Jack or Sawyer now.

Wikipedia.com:The plot centers on the years leading up to French Revolution and culminates in the Jacobin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacobin) Reign of Terror (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reign_of_Terror). It tells the story of two men, Charles Darnay (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Darnay) and Sydney Carton (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sydney_Carton), who look very alike but are entirely different in character. Darnay is a romantic descended from French aristocrats (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aristocrat), while Carton is a cynical English barrister (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barrister). The two are in love with the same woman, Lucie Manette (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucie_Manette): one of them will give up his life for her, and the other will marry her. Other major characters in the book include Dr. Alexandre Manette (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexandre_Manette) (Lucie's father) who was unjustly imprisoned for many years prior to the commencement of the novel under a lettre de cachet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lettre_de_cachet) and Madame Defarge (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madame_Defarge), a female revolutionary with a grudge against Darnay's family.
The twists and turns in the novel are sinuous. Originally written as a serial novel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_novel) for publication in newspapers, the chapters open and close with great drama and mystery. Dickens' take on the French Revolution is balanced - he describes the horrors and atrocities committed on both sides.
The two cities named in the title are London (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London) and Paris (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paris). Throughout the novel, pairs of people, places, etc. are compared and contrasted.
The opening sentence, beginning with the line, "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times," is one of the most famous in all literature. The final line, the thoughts of Sydney Carton, "It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known," is almost as famous.

I'm just so excited that it's not Jack's flashback.

And much thanks to Flub, for once again bringing us news :D God knows I'm too lazy or stupid to find this stuff for myself, so I'm really appreciating what you do.

I'm intrigued by the characters of Amelia and Karl. Karl could possibly be the husband?

Hey no problem, but the real thanks goes to people like Darkufo who creates the spoiler sites that I get my info from.

As for Karl, it certainly could be a husband.

"A Tale Of Two Cities"

^ This could focus on Kate's breasts.

Bah. Dickens just ripped off Wrath of Khan! Damn fine movie, Wrath of Khan. ;)

I hope you're proud of yourself, Vonne. It's statements like this that delay us the privilege of finding out how he got those tattoos.;)

Why does flub always post linkes to the "lostspoilers" blogger who aggregates all this from other info, rather than the source itself? (is this flub's blog?) If so, honestly, I think this is poor form...

I'm just so excited that it's not Jack's flashbackwhy are so many antagonistic towards Jack these days... he had the same number of flashbacks last season as Eko, Locke, Ana Lucia, Michael, Hurley and sun and Jin (providing you count their separate flashbacks together) he had three in season 1 (as did Kate) and he is kind of the main character of the series, so I can accept that he will get the Lion's share of the flashbacks during a season

^ Because to many of us FlashJacks are incredibly dull. Aside from several "issues", the guy is a square and a bore. There just doesn't seem like they have that much more to tell about him aside from the incidental and rhetorical.

Tattoo scandals? Phuket prostitutes? Who cares? It's still mind-numbing television.

ETA: I wouldn't be suprised if Jack's death turns out to be the "big midseason event" mentioned at ComiCon. And I for one, would NOT consider that jumping the shark.

Jack is one of my favorite characters, but killing him would be a major turning point in the show! Would it be jumping the shark? I don't know, I don't THINK so...I mean, I'd still watch. I'd be upset, but I'd still watch. I doubt TPTB would have the cajones to kill off a major character though, so far it seems like they've only killed off one minor character (Boone), then Shannon (which I think they did after disputes of not allowing her to join the cast of X-Men 3, I don't care what they say in interviews) and then Ana/Libby which were also ordered deaths (again, I don't believe the interviews).

And after giving him that reported $250,000 bonus, I doubt the producers would be so quick to eliminate him from the show.

I agree--that would be the opposite of shark-jumping. That'd be like the shark jumping the show.

Interesting. I wonder if it will follow suit with Season 2's premiere - introducing a new character we're going to meet on the island by first introducing him in the flashback.

I dont mind jack flashbacks but its a nice way to start the new season with somebody elses flashback. It would have been great to start the season with one of the others flashbacks.

What I think it will be is a flashback of something that already happened leading up to their confrontation with The Others. So I think we will see Jack telling Kate 'the plan' prior to the trek, which seems likely that is when Kate also hooks up with whoever she hooks up with (which I think is Jack). Why should sawyer get all the action LOL.

OMG its LFG

There should be a flashback where they show Jack getting his STD. You know it needs to be there.

What? Someone else gets a flashback before Jackass?
I wonder why, lets see...MF is busy trying to out do SS in his own Rambo movie....no that's not it...he suddenly realized the people wandering around the set are fellow actors and they might need some screen time....no that's definately not it...TPTB want to regain lost ratings? Hmmm

Agree completely. Its not just that I am very tired of Jack but also because there are so many more compelling characters. IMO, TPTB are looking to make that mid-season event something beyond expectations. They know that the pressure to deliver this season is high. Jack's death would be incredible.

It would also establish Jack as a "Sidney Carton type" of character.

Unless MF's huge ego can't take the beating fans have been delivering this summer I wouldn't count on him joining Boone, AnaL, and Shannon soon.
It does seem likely that they will split up the group for a few episodes, but they're not going to kill him.

I`ll wager that Jack will see at least one person in "otherville" that he has seen in his past. Seems only natural with this show that someone will have some knid of connection with him. May be the new love interest perhaps.
