Nothing too new, really, but some decent Libby info:

From Denisse: Hi! I'm from Venezuela, and I love you! Can you make me happy and tell me something about Lost?
Carlton says, "Let's just say that we, uh, there's still things to be told specifically about Libby that we hope to get to." And Damon adds, "You know, we really loved working with Cynthia Watros and Michelle Rodriguez, and sometimes, the story demands, you know, casualties. In the case of Michelle we had, despite great cynicism among some people, we really had planned that out as a one-season arc. With Cynthia, as much as we valued her as an actor, when we sort of came to that point, we thought it would just be more intriguing to have Libby die before she could reveal the answers to these questions.
Is Carlton so used to spewing this PR BS that he actually believes himself now?
Can you wag your own dog? We loved her so much and she has such a huge part left to play but we thought that it would be best to kill Libby off anyway? Uh, right.
I think the fans would respect TPTB's honesty, if they would just come out and say that MR and CW were killed off due to their real-life drunk driving incidents.

Alright hate to say it, but what if it actually was planned as an arc for that season and the DUI just happened to be at the same time?

I believe TPTB too. Coincidences do happen. Maybe they went out and got drunk together because they were being killed off.

If it's true I kinda feel sorry for Damon and Carlton who keep trying to tell everyone what really happened.

I'm with KF2 on this one. AnaL was brought in as a love interest for Jack to mess with the Jack/Kate/Sawyer triangle. That was the original plan and it was scrapped.

But that doesn't mean that it was scrapped because of the DUI incident, I'm sure they toss away ideas all of the time.
I think the ratings were down from last year, and the ABC higher ups probably blamed it on a few things, including the addition of those two. And then the DUI came, and gave ABC the ammo to have them whacked. I think that is what happened.
Based upon the fact that a new character is being cast to play the love triangle role this year, obviously, they had that in mind for MR. So no way her character arc was just for one season. Personally, I don't mind seeing her go. Libby, on the other hand, had some good intrigue in her storyline. So glad she is coming back, even if in flashbacks.
Basically, I think CC and DL got the train a bit of the tracks last year without JJ. I expect the storylines to be tighter this year with him doing the bulk of the writing. I think Season 3 will be better than last because the writing will be better. Simple as that.

I actually believe TPTB's story concerning Michelle Rodriguez, however I am skeptical about it regarding Cynthia (I know that sounds ridiculous) yet all things being equal I think that they are right when they say that Libby's character and her story will be more interesting told posthumously, and i agree. It keeps very much in line to their commitment to creative storytelling that they have maintained on this show
I'm sure Maggie Grace being denied her role in X-Men by Damon for contractual reasons also had no reason why she was killed in the show. ;)

My theory is that the budget only allows for 14 regulars. If they wanted to bring in new blood, they needed to free up some space.
Why don't they shut up about about certain subjects or do what they do best, talk a lot but end up saying nothing?
Personally, I would imagine Libby was killed off because of her other opportunity.

I'm sure Maggie Grace being denied her role in X-Men by Damon for contractual reasons also had no reason why she was killed in the show. ;)didn't Damon give an interview on radio last summer where he said that a cast member was going to get killed off due due to their not reaching a financial agreement for season 2? It was never confirmed weather that was Maggie Grace or not, in fact after Shannon was killed off no one ever said anything about it being because of money. so I assumed it was not factual or that Damon was being misleading intentionally

This goes doubly so for Damon and Carlton. OMFG, have you heard the PodCasts? These guys just don't have enough game to talk about LOST publicly, period. Make them sign a gag contract or something, ABC.

I know, I am sick of them saying random stuff, so it looks like that have given or have spoilers.

They say just enough to keep everything confusing.....that way, when something changes in the story line, they have plausible deniability.
