Sorry if this doesn't go here, but since it wasn't aired, I thought it counts as a spoiler.

On the Lost Season Two; Part One DVD (UK), there's a deleted scene called 'What's Your Story?' which is like another segment of Libby and Hurley doing laundry. Libby reveals she's been married, and when Hurley asks how many times, she says 'Including the ennulments...3.' She seems kind of young for 3 marriages, probably adds to the black widow theory.

In the scene, Hurley also tells Libby about how rich he is, so it's confirmed that she knows, or it was planned for her to know?

Or, maybe she already knew.

or she was just lying, which is what she is right... a compulsive liar?

Third time is a charm.

Being that Libby is nearing forty, and the fact that she was in a mental institution would make it quite plausible she had that many marriages. Chances are you would be more likely to divorce a crazy person. The real question is whether or not her marriage(s) drove her crazy.

My ex wife is trying to annul her latest marriage--the 4th. That would make 2 divorces and 2 annulments. Somehow, she thinks the annulments don't count, but that is because she is bi-polar, OCD, etc.

Basically, is someone has three or more failed marriages, it is a sign of instability in the personality, chemicals in the brain, etc. I think that may be what they are trying to show with Libby.

TPTB did discuss this cut scene before it was released and d/l said (i think in a podcast) that the discussion was too revealing so they cut it.

I think we will learn that libby is indeed a gold digger and was after hurley. I also think we will find out that her ex was rich (with the boat reference we probably already know it) and she was in the mental hospital as a result of his death. Maybe even NGRI, the cause of it.

What I find humorous is we don't get to see hardly any flashbacks of Sawyer, Kate, Claire, Sun,etc, but we will see the life of Dead Libby.

I got that feeling that Libby already knew about Hurleys fortune as he was telling her, but I'm angry, because I want to believe that their LOVE IS GENUINE, which it now probably isn't.

I'm still intrigued by this comment from a recent interview:

Will Cynthia Watros (Libby) be back in flashback?
Cuse: We would love to tell more chapters of Libby's life, in the same way in the show you've got Jack's father's story. That character was dead from the word go, but that doesn't mean that we haven't learned and seen his story over the course of the series. We would love to sort of finish up Cynthia's story, but if I was specific about that it would sort of spoil the surprise of our storytelling.

I know I will get rocks, bottles and shoes thrown at me, but I still expect Libby to "come back from the dead". Jack did not take her vitals. There is no way to do embalming there, so nothing to prevent her waking up. When we left the funeral, not a shovel of earth had been thrown in. And we won't be back there until Hurley manages to trudge all the way back.

I'm just posting this to go on record with what I think. If I am wrong I will gladly admit it but if I'm right I want all the credit. ;-)

If that girl (in Eko's flashback) could come back to life "it's a miracle" then I see no reason that Libby shouldn't come back perhaps with Dave to haunt Hurley in season III.

...and I have no problem with zombies or..... miraculous scientifically enhanced resurrections.

Yep, I noticed that there has been no haste to add Libby to "Zombie Island". I think I am not the only one who wants more proof of her death than TPTB's offhand remarks. After all, they have already lied to us more often than Fenry.

Embalming was invented for a purpose, and that was to make sure the "dead" stayed that way. There were more than a few instances of medieval burials where people came out of a deep coma in their casket under the ground. Not nice!

What do we know about Libby's death? Jack said she stopped bleeding and told Kate that wasn't a good sign. However, without any way to view inside her body, Jack couldn't actually be positive that what he believed was true. Of all the characters, he would know that the body is complex and different people respond to trauma in different ways.

After Libby died, Jack simply closed her eyes. He did not check her vitals. He did not hold a mirror to her mouth or in any other way check for slight breathing. Then she was wrapped loosely in some cloth. When last we saw her, she was in the grave but no dirt had been thrown in. Before this could happen all hell had broken loose with Desmond in the boat, and then it just got worse from there.

What if, when they throw the dirt in, Libby yells "ouch"??? What would the Losties make of a recovery? Would they believe the island healed her? Would they believe that the failsafe magnetic storm healed her? Would she then be seen as one of the special healed ones -- even if in reality she is a "black widow"??

Can you imagine Hurley trudging back across the island and seeing her standing there? Would he accept that she was real, or would he think it was another Dave incident and totally freak out? Would this make him love her more than ever, even if in reality she is a "black widow" who only wants him to share the wealth so she can dump him, the Losties and the island???

I can't fathom TPTB wanting to pass up all this for just some stupid posthumous flashbacks. But maybe she really is deader than a mackerel or Tom Cavanaugh's career. I guess we will know soon enough.

This is a thread a eagerly wait for. Let me know if/when you start it.

Jack's got ADHD and his dented surgeon head and hands are on sabatacle.

I think Rose will be there with a knowing look in her eye, and hand Libby a joint.

He'll definately freak.

back from the dead is a little much. I think we will see her in flashbacks, but IMO she is dead. I thought TPTB said dead is dead...

I just had a hard time fitting her skinny ass into the banner. I'm going to make an avatar soon for her though. ;)

Speaking of Libby, I wrote a short horror scene in another thread (can't remember now) with her appearing to Hurley in a havid. She was calling to him from the jungle. He follows her half asleep, and they embrace. When he pulls back he sees that she's in a hospital gown with a bleeding bullethole in the gut. She says, "Remember me now, Hurley?"

Or something like that. It was a while back. I still think something like that will happen to him.
