Pilot
Rose is unconscious on the beach; Boone is performing CPR. Jack sees them, and goes to help. Jack takes over and lets Boone go in search of a pen (which will not be needed. Rose revives. Later, we see a shot of Rose kissing the ring hung on her necklace.
Flashback to the plane
Rose and Jack exchange pleasantries as Charlie pushes his way up the aisle on his way to the men's room. There's turbulence, and Jack assures Rose that "it's normal." She agrees, but admits that she's not a good flyer, even though her husband assures her that planes want to be in the air. She tells Jack that her husband is in the bathroom, and Jack offers to keep her company until he returns. Before he can reassure her again, a passenger flies out of his seat, the plane is lurching violently, and the oxygen masks come down. Rose and Jack put on their masks.
On the beach, Rose and a group of crash survivors have just witnessed the violent raging and destruction and noise of the black smoke. They are trying to identify the noise, and Rose tells them, "That sound that it made, I keep thinking that there was something really familiar about it." When asked where she is from, she replies, "The Bronx."
Rose is with Claire when the monster appears again. Later, she urges Jack to attend to the man with the shrapnel (the marshall).
Walkabout
Rose is sitting alone, again holding the ring on her necklace. Jack brings her a blanket and water, and lets her know that the group is worried about her. He tells her to take of herself, and to make sure to drink the water. He tells her she doesn't have to talk. Later, Rose does talk, opening the conversation with "His fingers swell." She explains that Bernard's fingers swell from the altitude, and that she keeps his wedding safe for him when they fly. Rose releases Jack from his promise to keep her company, but he assures her that she won't get rid of him that easily. When he suggests that she might be suffering from Post Traumatic Shock, she comes back with, "Aren't we all?" Jack has to agree. Then, Rose tells him, "You have a nice way about you. A good soul, patient, caring. I suppose that's why you became a doctor." He replies, "Thanks, but I was just kind of born into it. Family business."
Later, Jack tells Rose that the fuselage (and bodies) will be burned after sundown and wonders if she would like to include Bernard in the memorial service. Rose replies, "Doctor, my husband is not dead." He disagrees, saying that everyone that was in the tail section is gone. Rose argues, "They're probably thinking the same thing about us."
Whatever the Case May Be
Rose is working, dragging some of the wreckage, and sees Charlie, who has been keeping to himself. When he does not reply to her greeting, she tells him, "Oh, that's right, you're not talking much these days. It doesn't mean you get to be rude. Charlie is a bit incredulous, but she goes after him again. "Do you think you're the only one on this island that's got something to be sad about? Baby, I've got sob stories for you, so why don't you grab the other end of this thing and help me. Well?" And she gets him moving.
Later, as Rose and Charlie continue to work together, he asks why she is smiling. She says, "Am I?" and he tells her she looks happy. She says that she must be, then, but he protests that there's no reason to be happy; they are stranded, no one is coming to rescue them, there's a monster in the jungle, and that "there's a person, or people, that are trying to hurt us. . ." When he breaks off, Rose tells him that nobody blames for Claire's kidnapping. "It's not your fault. You did everything that you could do. And you came very close to dying yourself." Charlie says that maybe he should have died. She tells him that he needs to ask for help.
Later, as Rose sits by a tree, Charlie comes to her again. He questions her belief that Bernard is still alive; how she can be sure, how can she know. Rose says, "I just do. It's a fine line between denial and faith. It's much better on my side. He cries and asks her to help him, but she tells him, "Baby, I'm not the one that can help you..."
And she prays. "Heavenly Father, we thank you. We thank you for bringing us together tonight, and we ask that you show Charlie the path..."

2.04 Everybody hates Hugo
Near the shore, Rose is hanging clothes on a line stretched between two trees. She's humming a melody as she contently works. She picks up an empty basket and walks back to a make-shift water container. Dropping the basket, she kneels and starts to wring-out a shirt.
Hurley approaches and asks the obvious "So, doing laundry, huh?" Rose says yes and bids him to hand her more dirty laundry. Hurley asks her if she wants to know what happened since everyone wants to know what's in the hatch. Rose continues to scrub clothes and remarks "that's your business, honey". Hurley insists she must be curious, but Rose comments,"It's not going to help get the laundry done." Rose turns in surprise as Hurley states "It sorta is".
Rose follows Hurley through the jungle. She hesitates and hangs back as Hurley pushes through some thick overhanging vines and opens a heavy creaking door. Rose trepidly follows Hurley through the door and into the darkness within. They slowly walk down the dimly lit passageway. Rose looks around and wonders that someone actually lived down there. She listens quietly as Jack enters, dismayed that Hurley brought someone else into the station. Hurley reassures Jack that Rose is "cool" and won't tell anyone. Rose looking around, adds "Honey, I don't even know what I would say."
Rose and Hurley follow Jack into the food storage room. Wide-eyed, Rose asks "is all of this food?". Rose listens as Jack explains that no one is to get any of the supplies until Hurley and Rose have inventoried everything and figured out how to make it last. The "numbers alarm" starts beeping and Rose asks what is that? Hurley replies, "You don't want to know."
Rose sits, humming a light tune, while she and Hurley list and count the supplies. Hurley opens a box of Apollo candy bars and asks Rose if she's ever heard of them. Rose smiles and says:
Huh-uh, but candy is candy -- that's what Bernard always says. Talk about a sweet-tooth. That man has a mouth full of sweet-teeth.
Hurley asks if Bernard was her husband. Rose corrects him and says "is - Bernard is my husband." Hurley apologizes because he thought Bernard was in the back of the plane and very awkwardly insinuates that no one in the back of the plane survived. Rose gives Hurley a long look and states "Bernard is fine - I know it." Then Rose prompts Hurley to continue with the inventory. Rose starts humming again but Hurley interrupts and tells her everyone is going to hate him. Rose tells him that's silly as he's about the only one on the island that everybody loves.
Kate pops in and asks for shampoo. Rose points it out to her and then sheepishly tells Hurley "it's just one bottle".
Later that day, Rose enters the food "pantry" and finds Hurley (back to her) hunched over something. Discovering that Hurley has dynamite, Rose asks him what's he going to do with it. After learning that Hurley intends to blow up the food "pantry" and everything in it, Rose protests and tells Hurley he's going to hurt someone. Hurley reassures her that he will keep everyone away and no one will get hurt. Then he begs her to leave. Rose replies:
No, you hauled me off of the beach and you dragged me into this place -- the least I can get is an explanation before you blow it up.
A sympathetic Rose listens as Hurley explains that everyone will grow to hate him as the keeper of the food and seemingly unfair distribution as Hurley allocates it. Hurley admits he doesn't know what else to do as Rose moves closer as if to hug him.
Later that night, Rose is sitting quietly by a beach campfire as Hurley distributes the entire Swan Station's food supply to all the survivors. Rose has an Apollo candy bar which she slowly puts away in her pocket, saving it for Bernard's "mouth full of sweet teeth". Rose sadly smiles, then caresses the ring she wears on a chain around her neck. She holds back the tears forming in her eyes as she longs for her missing husband.

Day 48 (November 8, 2004)
Near the beach, Rose and Hurley are hanging wet clothes out to dry on a clothesline. Hurley asks Rose why they're not using the dryer in the hatch. Rose bluntly tells him she doesn't like the hatch and besides they don't need a dryer while they have the sun and fresh air. She also adds "we don't want to spoil ourselves, now do we?"
Shannon interrupts their conversation, looking for the stuff Michael and Walt left behind. Rose solemnly watches Shannon while Hurley answers her questions. After she leaves, Rose comments:
Poor thing, it can't be easy losing the one person you love on the island.
Hurley doesn't say anything but he looks at Rose awkwardly.
2.08 Collision
Rose approaches Jack as he's filling a water bottle from a canvas water holder on the beach. Rose tells Jack it's nice to see him out of the hatch - he can use more sunshine. She offers Jack a bowl of fruit and tells him it's good for the constitution. Jack laughs and takes a piece of fruit. After biting off a piece an impressed Jack remarks to Rose, "where did you get these". Rose (tongue in cheek) replies,"Well, now just because you're a little excited -- no reason to talk with your mouth full."
A golf ball - out of no where - lands in the water container in front of Rose. At first Rose stares at the golf ball, then she looks back over her shoulder trying to determine where it came from.
Later that day, Jin, Libby and Bernard emerge from the jungle at the far end of the beach. Rose gets up and looks down the beach as the other survivors surround Jin and the newcomers. Rose makes her way along the shore drawing closer to the arrivals. Rose sees Bernard through an opening in the crowd. Bernard moves quickly to her and takes Rose into his arms. They lovingly embrace for a long time, then draw back, look into each other's eyes and kiss.

2.16 The Whole Truth
Rose is walking up the beach, bickering with Bernard. She sees Sun hunched over and leaning against a tree. Rose and Bernard hurry over to Sun. Rose says, "Honey? Are you all right?" Sun remarks that she's a little lightheaded. Bernard notes that Sun looks as "pale as a sheet". Rose snaps back to Bernard, "well, give her some water." Rose tells Sun not to pay Bernard any attention, he's just mad because he forgot her birthday.
Rose asks Sun if she can walk. Sun tells them she just thinks she has been out in the sun too long. Looking concerned, Rose starts to put her arm around her while telling her that she (Sun) may have caught something from the baby and should at least talk to Jack. Sun tells them that she is okay and walks off leaving Rose and Bernard staring after her.

2.19 S.O.S.
Rose and Bernard are stacking cans and boxes of Dharma food on makeshift shelves on the beach. Rose is concentrating on lining up the supplies in an orderly fashion. When she corrects Bernard's placement of a box of cereal, Bernard lashes out in frustration and disbelief about nobody questioning the source of the food. Rose tells him she was raised to "never question her blessings". Then he laments that everyone has just given up. Perplexed, Rose asks "given up on what?" Bernard replies "on getting rescued". Understanding flashes across Rose's face as she casts her eyes downward. Without saying another word, she continues stacking supplies on the shelf.
(Flashback- Rose's car is stuck in the snow. She's sitting in the driver's seat just spinning her wheels going no where. A man approaches her window and tells her not to gun it. Rose lowers the electric window and snaps back that she knows what she is doing and for him to step back.
After spinning her wheels some more, she turns and tells the man she's calling AAA. He says he can get her out. So he moves to the back of the car and starts pushing, telling her to ease on the gas. They rock the car a few times and then it lurches forward. The man falls flat on his face in the snow and Rose slams on the breaks. She gets out of the car and asks him if he's okay. He is and they laugh and then Rose extends her hand for a handshake and introduces herself. The man then introduces himself as Bernard. A little awkward moment follows and then Bernard starts walking away.
Rose turns to get in the car then grimaces and groans a little. After she sits down, she quickly gets back up and calls after Bernard. She asks if she can buy him a cup of coffee and Bernard blissfully accepts. Rose gives him a big beautiful smile.)
Rose tries to give Hurley a box of Dharmalars she saved just for him. Hurley declines because he's on a new diet. Bernard interrupts them and asks Hurley to gather up some people and meet him in 5 minutes at the edge of the tree line. Puzzled, Rose grabs Bernard's arm as he starts to walk away and asks him what he is up to. He grins and tells her he has an idea. Then he strides away toward some other survivors.
Later, at the tree line, Rose stands with a group of other survivors encircling Bernard as he tells them about his plan to build a huge sign on the beach so anything flying overhead will know they are there. As the other survivors are nodding in agreement, Rose pipes up and says, "Maybe we should speak to Jack about this first." Bernard pauses and then laughs and says Jack isn't a president - he's a doctor. Rose undercuts Bernard by saying "you're a dentist." As the other members of the group snicker, Bernard pulls Rose aside and tells her he could use her support. Angrily she tells him the only thing he is doing is "giving these people false hope!". As Bernard turns and walks back to the group, Rose looking a little sheepish, glances around and then stares sadly after Bernard.
(Flashback - Rose and Bernard are seated at a restaurant table with a magnificent view of Niagara Falls. Rose comments on how amazing the falls are, but Bernard doesn't seem to share her enthusiasm. She asks him "So, what does God have to do to get your attention?". Bernard ignores the question as he signals to someone behind Rose.
Two violinists walk up and start playing a romantic melody. Surprised, Rose stares at them and then turns her attention to Bernard who kneels in front of her on one knee. Rose listens as Bernard tells her that he always dreamed of finding someone like her and that he loves her. She glances down at a ring box Bernard opens and then looks back at Bernard as he asks her to marry him.
With wrinkled brow, Rose sadly gazes downward. She slowly lifts her tear filled eyes and calmly tells Bernard that she is dying. Stunned, Bernard excuses the violinists and returns to his seat. Solemnly Rose tells Bernard that she has been in remission for the last couple of years but now the cancer is back and it's not going away. The doctor has given her about a year to live.
Bernard simply tells her she hasn't answered his question. Rose asks Bernard if he is sure. Bernard lovingly takes both of Rose's hands in his and tells her he is sure. Holding back tears, Rose softly tells him that she accepts.)
(Flashback - As Bernard drives a jeep over a bumpy dirt road in Australia, Rose tells him "We're lost". Bernard laughs and says he knows exactly where they are. Rose gives him a disbelieving look and quips, "Me too. Driving around in circles in the middle of the Outback. That's why I wanted to be on a beach for our honeymoon."
They pull into an area with a couple of buildings, a few people and a small herd of sheep. Rose is relieved and tells Bernard to ask for directions. Rose stares questioningly at Bernard when he insists they are not lost. Bernard tells Rose he brought her out here to see Isaac of Uluru and hands her a large tabloid. Rose is upset and can't believe he brought her to a faith healer. She gets out of the jeep and as Bernard circles around explaining that Isaac is the "real deal", Rose sarcastically asks if this is why he brought her to Australia to see some "kook"?
When Bernard assures her that he is legitimate, Rose explodes and screams "I didn't ask for this!". After a long silence, she continues more calmly, "Bernard, I have made my peace with what is happening to me." Bernard then asks her to try it "for him".)
Later, Rose watches as Bernard tries to talk Sawyer into helping him build the sign. After Sawyer refuses, Bernard joins Rose at the water trough and starts to refill water bottles. Bernard blames Rose for his dwindling supply of helpers. She questions him on how is that her fault. Bernard tells her she could have at least shown some support. Rose says, "Have you ever stopped to think maybe the reason people are quitting is because you've got yourself a management problem?"
Bernard asks Rose "what's the matter with you. I'm just trying to do something." Rose tells him that's the problem, he's always trying to do something and why can't he just let things be. Bernard tells her "if he didn't always have to do something she wouldn't be here." Rose stares at Bernard, then without saying a word, slowly takes her things, turns and walks away.
Locke is sitting on the beach, staring pensively out to sea. Rose approaches and jokingly tells him "you're in my spot". Rose looks down at him and smiles. Locke says he can move. Rose asks "Can you?" Locke remarks sarcastically, "oh, that's funny". Rose laughs deeply and says his sense of humor got trapped under that door with his leg. They both smile and then talk briefly about Bernard hauling rocks and building a sign on the beach.
Then Rose asks Locke what he's doing here on the beach as she hasn't seen him out of the hatch in a long time. Locke tells her he's done with the hatch. Wisely, Rose tells him he's just frustrated - it won't be long before that splint will come off and he'll be running around. Locke corrects her and tells her that Jack said it would take at least 4 weeks for his leg to heal. Rose looks him dead in the eye and pointedly remarks:
But, honey, you and I both know it's not going to take that long.
They stare at each other knowingly, sharing an unspoken secret. Then each of them smile and gaze out to sea.
(Flashback - Rose is shown into a room and told Isaac will be in to see her shortly. The room is filled with metal and wooden crutches, canes and walkers. Some are hung on the wall, others are hanging from the rafters. Rose takes all of this in and advances toward the farmost wall which is covered with pictures and letters. As Rose is reading one of the thank-you letters, Isaac enters, says a friendly hello, and pulls out a chair for Rose to have a seat. As Rose is sitting down, she stiffly asks "how does this work?"
Isaac tells her there are places (like this one) of great energy on this earth and when possible he channels that energy and gives it to others. Then he moves his hands toward her face but doesn't touch her. His hands remain just inches from her. Rose starts and blinks quickly a few times, then she stares at Isaac as he closes his eyes and slightly lowers his head as he concentrates. Suddenly his eyes fly open and a disturbing look flits across his face. Eyes wide now and a little scared, Rose asks, "What, what is it?".
Recovering his composure, Isaac apologizes and tells Rose he can't do anything for her. Resigned, Rose closes her eyes and then shakes her head and says "I didn't expect you to."
Rose gets up and walks over to an open window. She gazes lovingly at Bernard who is outside talking to a little girl with crutches. Isaac then tells Rose that it's not that she can't be healed, it's just this is not the right place for her. She asks "where is the right place?" Isaac replies, "I wish I knew". Then Isaac offers to return Bernard's donation, but Rose says no, she's going to tell him "you fixed me". As Rose gazes at Bernard, resolution fills her face and she softly repeats, "I'm going to tell him you fixed me".
Rose approaches Bernard who is working alone on the help sign. She's carrying a covered dish and announces that she brought him some supper. Rose sets the dish down on a large rock and then tells Bernard she owes him an apology. She tells Bernard that she lied to him, that back in Australia, Isaac didn't heal her. Bernard gets up protesting saying of course he did, but Rose stops him and gently says:
Bernard, he didn't heal me. But that doesn't mean I'm not healed.
(Flashback - Rose and Bernard are sitting side-by-side in the airport waiting area. Bernard gets out their plane tickets and says something to Rose, then he gets up and walks away.)
Rose continues explaining to Bernard. She tells him, "When you're sick and you have got something inside you that doesn't belong there you can feel it." Then Rose confides that after the crash, she couldn't feel it anymore and at first she thought it was just because she was in shock. Then she says, "But it wasn't. It's this place."
Bernard objects saying that she said Isaac healed her. Rose admits she said that so he would stop trying to do something and just enjoy the time they had left. Bernard again objects saying how do you know you're not just in remission. Rose simply says, "I know. I know".
(Flashback - Rose is sitting by herself in the airport waiting area. She retrieves a bottle of medicine from a bag and another medicine bottle falls to the floor and rolls away. A man in a wheel chair scoops it up as he is rolling toward Rose. It's John Locke! He offers the medicine bottle to her and says, "These yours?" Rose smiles, accepts the medicine and says "thank-you". Locke kindly smiles and says "you're welcome" and then wheels away. Rose places a pill in her mouth, then sadly gazes after him.)
Rose solemnly looks at Bernard and tells him to trust her, she knows. Bernard realizes that Rose doesn't want to be rescued and that she is afraid if she leaves the island, the cancer will come back. Bernard, with tears in his eyes, tells Rose if she can't leave, he can't leave either. Bernard reassures her that "we won't ever leave". Rose and Bernard, both holding back tears, lovingly embrace. Rose gently caresses the back of Bernard's head as tears spill down upon her cheeks.
Later that night, Bernard and Rose snuggle by the campfire, content with their love and happy to be in each other's arms.

Rose and Bernard are standing on the beach tying some of the stripped wiring from the wreckage. Bernard says, "Rose, that's a sailor's hitch. It's not gonna hold." Holding up his wires, Bernard continues, "You want to do a sheet bend like mine." Rose replies, "Oh, so now you're knot expert." Bernard laughs and then says, "Oh, well trust me it's uh... " Rose laughs and pulls one end of Bernard's "sheet bend" knot which quickly releases the wires. Bernard stares in shock as she then holds her tied wires and shows that they are firmly knotted and not coming apart. Bernard asks, "How did you do that?" Rose takes the wires from Bernard's hands and replies, "Watch and learn, dear ... watch and learn."

A short time later, Rose (standing next to Bernard) gathers with the other survivors near the community kitchen area to talk to Karl, who has arrived to inform them that the "others" are coming tonight not tomorrow night. After Jack makes sure that Karl has told them everything, he turns to Kate and asks her if she trusts him. Karl gets angry and says, "You don't trust me?!" Then he he points to Juliet and says, "What about her? She's a spy! She's supposed to mark the tents of the pregnant women with white rocks so they can take them." All eyes turn toward Juliet as she nods, and glibly answers Karl, "They know, Karl ... but thanks."
Hurley asks, "So what are we going to do?" Sun replies, "We have to leave now ... hide! Rose turns toward Bernard as he retorts, "Where? It's their Island. If they want to kill us -- they'll find us." Greatly concerned, Rose turns back and listens as Jack tells everyone, "The sun's going to go down in a few hours." Then he asks Danielle if they have enough wire, but she says, "Not even close." Jack replies, "We've got to figure out a different way of setting the dynamite off." Sayid responds, "We could shoot." But Jack objects, saying, "We don't have enough guns. He said that 10 of them are coming...armed." Sayid then explains, "Not the "others" ... the tents. We can camouflage the dynamite next to the tents ... target it from our positions at the tree line." Jack replies, "Juliet marked three tents, that means we need three guns."
Everyone quickly ducks and shies away as Karl pulls out his gun. But he hands the gun to Sayid, saying, "Here. You can have mine too." Danielle volunteers to be one of the shooters. Jack tells her that they'll take her gun but she needs to lead everyone to the radio tower. Jack explains that if the plan doesn't work they can't risk losing the chance to contact Naomi's boat and then adds "So, everything has to happen at the same time." Then, turning to Charlie, Jack asks, "Charlie? You still up for a swim?" Charlie replies, "Yeah, I believe I am." Then Desmond volunteers to go with him. Jack nods and looking around says to the group at large, "Okay! We'd better get to it!"
Later, Rose watches Bernard demonstrate his shooting ability as he expertly shoots two DHARMA food cans. Lowering his rifle, Bernard asks Sayid, "You want me to hit another one?" Sayid replies, "No, you've made your point." Rose, however, is not pleased. She reminds Bernard that this is not pheasant hunting and pheasants don't shoot back. Bernard shakes his head and reassures Rose that nothing is going to happen to him, adding, "I just have to shoot a tent and I'll be right behind you." Rose replies, "Then I'm staying too."
Jack approaches and hearing their conversation says, "No you're not, Rose." Then Jack points down the beach and adds, "Everyone's gathering down at the South end of the beach. No one's staying behind but the shooters." Rose retorts, "Says who? You want to give me your word that nothing is going to happen to my husband, then I'll go." Jack looks at Rose and says bluntly, " I'll give you my word that if we don't kill everyone that shows up here in about an hour...it's not gonna matter where Bernard is." Rose replies, "I like you better since you got back, Jack. You're almost an optimist. " Then she turns to Bernard, extends her hand and tells him, "Come on. If you're going to be hiding in the bushes, let's get you into something dark."
Day 92 (December 22, 2004) Wednesday
3.22 Through the Looking Glass (Part One)
Bernard checks his rifle as Rose gives a couple of other survivors her gear. She returns to Bernard and asks, " If I told you that I'd help you with your SOS sign, would you change your mind?" Bernard shakes his head and says, "No ma'am." Rose replies, "Then I want you to say it again." Exasperated, Bernard turns his head while saying, "Rose!" But Rose doesn't waiver as she says, "Say it, Bernard." Bernard lets out a big sigh of resignation and then says, "I am a dentist. I am not Rambo." Rose narrows her eyes and says, "And don't you forget it." Then they give each other a big hug.

Jack walks through the gathering survivors and says loudly, "All right! Let's do it." Everyone starts to move out, leaving Bernard, Jin and Sayid staring solemnly after them.
Silently Rose walks along the rocky coast with the other survivors as they make their way toward the radio tower.
Later that night, Rose and the other survivors all turn and look back toward their camp as two explosions are heard. They all wait expectantly for the third explosion. In the growing silence, Rose turns toward Jack, points her finger at him and fearfully shouts, "There were supposed to be three explosions!" Jack and everyone else exchange worried looks as Kate turns to Jack and says, "It didn't work."
As Jack and the other survivors continue to look for the third explosion, Sun asks, "Why were there only two explosions?" Jack replies, "Maybe they didn't have to blow the third tent." Rose interrupts, saying, "But those gunshots! ... what was that about ..." Jack cuts her off saying, "He's okay, Rose." Worried, Sun asks, "Do you believe that?" Jack reassures them saying, "Listen ... they had no idea that we were waiting for them ... and Sayid is with your husbands. They're going to be fine and they're going to be a couple of hours behind us." Sun tells Jack that they should wait for them there and for him to go on to the radio tower. Jack shakes his head and says, "No! No one gets left behind." Angry, Rose retorts, "If you say 'live together ... die alone' to me Jack, I'm going to punch you in your face!" Jack laughs softly as he replies, "Fair enough."
Jack raises his voice and address everyone, "But we have a plan. And for all we know, it worked. It's going to be okay. Everything's going to be all right. Let's just keep moving, okay?" Then as the survivors turn and start back on their journey to the radio tower, Sun consoles a very distraught Rose, quietly telling her, "It's okay. Let's go."

Day 93 (December 23, 2004) Thursday
The next morning, the survivors stop briefly near a stream to refill their water bottles and take a short break. Rose, standing near Sun, leans back against a tree and stares solemnly at Jack, who is filling his water bottle. Jack looks up in her direction and meets her eyes. Sullenly, Rose quickly zips her pack up and glancing at Sun, prepares to continue the journey to the radio station.

Later, Rose files past Sawyer and Jack as Sawyer loudly tells Jack that he is going back to the beach.
3.23 Through the Looking Glass part two
As they near the end of their journey, the survivors crest a hill and come face-to-face with Ben and Alex. Rose and the other survivors stare in shocked silence. Then Jack advances several feet toward Ben and stops. Ben calls out, "Hello Jack!" Jack stares at him in silent anger and doesn't reply. Then Ben says, "We need to talk."
Ben raises his arms to his side, showing Jack that he is unarmed. Rose watches as Jack approaches Ben and skirts around him, making sure he's unarmed. Ben calls out to Naomi, "Hi, I'm Benjamin. I don't believe we've had the pleasure." Standing quietly behind Naomi, Rose keenly observes the scene as Jack immediately turns back, points at Naomi and yells, "Don't talk to him!" Then Jack turns back to Ben, who is still standing with his arms outstretched. Kate can be seen coming up behind Ben. She draws near to Jack and gestures in Ben and Alex's direction. Jack says something to Ben, who nods, turns and starts walking away. Jack follows him and suddenly grabs Ben and takes the walkie-talkie from the waistband of Ben's pants. Then he pushes Ben forward and continues to follow him down the hill and out of sight of the other survivors.
A short time later, Jack holds on to Ben and pushes him along back to the main group of survivors. Shocked, Rose stares as Jack throws the badly beaten man onto the ground and says, "Tie him up! He's coming with us." As Jack and Kate walk away from everyone else, Danielle approaches Alex, who is bending over her bleeding "father". Rose continues to watch and listen as Ben tells Alex that Danielle is her mother.
Later, Rose, gamely trudges up a gradual incline as the survivors press on toward the radio tower. Ben's hands are tied and Danielle holds the rope as she leads him onward. Suddenly, Ben's walkie-talkie (now residing in Jack's back pocket) squawks and Hurley's voice is heard, "Attention Others. Come in Others." Rose hurries forward toward Jack as everyone stops to listen to Hurley's message. Hurley continues, "If you're listening to this, I want you to know that we got you bastards! And unless the rest of you want to blown up -- you best stay away from our beach ..." Everyone stops as they listen to Hurley's message. Jack grabs the walkie and speaking into it, says, "Hurley?" Hurley replies, "Jack?" Then Jack asks, "Where are you? What's going on?" Hurley replies, "Dude! I'm back at the beach." Rose and Sun stand a short distance away from Jack and anxiously listen as Jack says, "What?" Hurley continues, "Yeah. I went back to help Juliet and Sawyer. I ... I saved them." Jack asks, "You're ... they're okay? ... Juliet ..." Hurley replies, "Everyone's fine -- Me, Sawyer, Juliet, Sayid, Jin , Bernard ... we're all ..." Jack breaks in, saying, "Wait! Bernard and Jin and Sayid -- they're with you?" Hurley replies, "Yeah dude. I told you -- I saved them all."
As Hurley gives them the good news, all of the survivors start shouting and hugging each other! Fighting back the tears, Rose silently bows her head in relief. Then she and Sun give each other a big hug as Jack tells Hurley, "Hey! Stay where you are. We're almost up to the tower. You'll be safer there."

The survivors continue on the last leg of their journey to the radio tower. Naomi runs forward to Jack, who is near the front of the group. Excitedly, she tells him that Charlie did it -- the light on the satellite phone is now green which means the jamming has stopped. Jack tells Naomi to use the phone. She dials the number and picks up Danielle's transmission. Jack shakes his head and says, "It's Rousseau's message. It's still blocking the signal." Danielle interrupts, saying, "It doesn't matter. We're here."
Rose waits outside with the other survivors as Jack, Naomi, Danielle, Alex and Kate enter the radio station. Rose, standing near Sun and Claire, turns and anxiously watches as Naomi exits the radio tower, trying to get a signal on the satellite phone. Naomi picks up a signal and as the excitement grows, Ben (now tied to a tree) hoarsely shouts, ""I know you think you're saving your people, but you need to stop this! It's a mistake!" Jack replies, "The mistake was listening to you!" Ben ignores Jack's comment and presses on, "This'll be your last chance, Jack. I'm telling you ... making that call is the beginning of the end!"
Naomi excitedly shouts, "I've got it! I've got a signal!" Ben yells, "Jack please! You don't know what you're doing!" Jack takes a couple of steps toward Ben and replies, "I know exactly what I'm doing." Everyone waits hopefully as Naomi makes her connection. Suddenly, the sound of a knife slicing through the air is heard. Naomi stares at nothing as she convulses and spits up blood. Then she falls face forward onto the ground and everyone sees the knife sticking in her back! Crouching a short distance away is John Locke!
Jack yells, "John!" as he rushes to Naomi's side. Shocked, Rose remains standing next to Sun as Jack examines Naomi, Locke points a gun at him and tells him to step back. Jack gets up and asks Locke, "What did you do?" Locke replies, "What I had to. Now step back." Jack looks over at the phone, which has started ringing, Locke quickly tells him to stay away from the phone, but Jack defiantly reaches for it. Locke shoots at the phone but misses. Jack picks up the phone and turns, facing Locke and the gun Locke is pointing at him. Jack asks, "What are you doing, John?" Locke tells Jack that he doesn't want to shoot him. Ben interrupts, yelling, "Do it, John! Shoot him! Do what you need ..." Danielle quickly elbows Ben in the face, knocking him out.
Locke addresses Jack again, saying, "Please. Put the phone down." The phone continues to ring as Jack shakes his head and tells Locke, "No. You're done keeping me on this island." Locke cocks the gun and warns Jack, saying, "I will kill you if I have to." Jack walks toward Locke as he says, "Then do it, John." The tension becomes unbearable as Rose and everyone else watch the two men locked in the standoff. At long last, Locke lowers his gun, sighing, "Jack! You're not supposed to do this." Perplexed, Jack looks at Locke and starts to say something but is interrupted by a voice on the phone, saying, "Minkowski ... Hello?" Jack raises the phone to his ear and asks, "Who is this?" The voice asks, "Who is this?" Jack replies, "My name is Jack Shephard. Are you ... are you on the boat? ... the freighter?" The voice on the other end, asks, "How'd you get this channel?" Jack replies, "Naomi ... Naomi told us about your search team ... about the boat." While Jack is talking, John Locke turns and walks quietly back into the jungle and away from rescue. The voice asks, "Naomi! You found her?" Where is she? Who are you?" Jack replies, "I'm one of the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. Can you get a fix on our location?" The voice replies, "Hell yeah we can! Sit tight! We'll be right there!"
Elated, Rose turns to Sun and they begin to hug each other.
