The fates of Locke, Eko and Desmond are revealed after the implosion of the hatch.

Why must the writers put so many concrete pieces of information in unreliable places? There's no way of knowing how much of Boone's info was accurate.

But I think that whole scene probably needs to be read as Locke speaking with himself. So the opinions on the fate of his fellow Losties is probably only as accurate as Locke himself.

um..... not sure i agree. i think that was locke's idea of speaking with the island. seemed fairly accurate to me. plus, locke wouldn't necessarily know how the other people would be grouped...

I love this episode so far, but in traditional Lost style they don't deal at all with how they survived the hatch uhhh implosion.

This episode is very "season 1" and is a good diversion from the first two episodes and would perhaps have been better served sharing the series opener time slot.

that's a bit overboard. so saving Eko from a bear isn't important, or the return of boone in vision form, introduction to this cop, and these two people growing weed, the discovery of Ben in the airport, not to mention finding out everyone survived the hatch, and our first glimpse of the main camp... episode's not over yet

It's important because it has re-established Locke as 'The Hunter'. It also offers more info on Locke's past which will no doubt lead us to get another Locke flashback this year. That's good news in my opinion. Not every flashback has to have major reveals. They did a good job progressing Locke's character in this episode.
