You have done a respectable job of designing. I like your style. You might think of a career.

I would be SUPER interested in HD copies. Can you send an ezboard mail to my account so we can talk about it?

I would be VERY interested in a DVD copy of the first few episodes. I have seen previews of this show and have wanted to watch it even before it was released. Unfortunately my grandfather passed away, and the last few weeks have been pretty horrible. I would be willing to pay for a copy if possible. Only way I'm keeping up on the show so far is the message board and TY sooo much for that!!!!!!

Can anyone explain to me how to do this myself and what application I will need.

Dumb it down for me too. I understand burning CD's and DVD's but DVD authoring and the conversion from AVI is mind boggling for me.

Thats great....but keep in mind that dvdr's cant be played back on all dvd players. I got the top of the line Panasonic when it came out and it does a great job recording, but it wouldn't play back on my moms dvd player. It played on my brothers Sony, and on my sony. It turns out that if someone has a dvd player thats older, it probably wont play back on it. The newer ones shouldn't be a problem.

previously the owners of the board asked that you do this through this board (as you have done) or through one on one email.

As for the money: I did a synopsis of ep. 3. I offered it for a donation to the site...the Lost//unofficial forum. If you don't want any money for your product/work...I would implore that you consider trade for donation.

After reading the boards, I have discovered that I missed the first hour of the pilot completely. Reading the boards helped to bring me up to speed but I'd love to be able to watch it. Let me know what I need to do to get my hands on a copy. Thanks for doing this.

"song of the siren",

Hey, I have that Panasonic one too and was considering doing this for some friends/family members. "Kayman" must have a dvd burner. Because as much as I LOVE this show, for every copy I make, I have to record it real time-which would take up to four hours just to make one disc (four episodes). I wasn't going to charge family or friends and if I charged anything for anyone else-it would maybe be just enough to cover the cost of the disc itself and shipping. But without a burner, it would be sooooo time consuming. A lot of people think it is as easy as push play/record and walk away, but unfortunately, there is so much more to it! You must have the same one I do-the only thing I don't like is those cheesy "title menu" graphics. "Kayman" must have the deal!
Well, if I come into a burner anytime soon, I will be glad to make them and roll them out-but I was also afraid of getting in trouble (copyrights?):)

I record all my shows on my DVR--its a digital recorder I get through Dish Network. Then from there I put the shows on DVD. I can erase commercials, etc. The title menu is freakin' made for a scientist! Complicated, but once you get it down, its good for the making.

I'm finding out that once I finalize a DVD recording, it will only play on the newer models or high end older models. My sony is 5 years old and it will play them back. My husband bought a couple of cheap dvd players from Walmart a year ago for our guest rooms, but they wont play the dvdr's.

My brother bought a whole season of FRIENDS from ebay, someone recorded it, etc....but it wouldn't play on his old dvd player. Go figure.

Not all cheap ones are crap! My good Zenith DVD player is my favorite one but it wont play anything but DVD-R

But my cheap Apex will play anything I throw at it including just reading data DVD's and Data CD's I can explore through file structure on like its a computer.

LMAO! Its the Apex players that wont play my recorded dvds!

What you need to convert the downloaded episodes to VCD/SVCD/Mini DVD/DVD formats is:

WinAvi.

This software will take the XVID(AVI) and convert to the aformentioned formats. Simply burn the resulting file using Nero preferably.

There are other ways but that is the most direct route and easiest to perform for the novice.

Please bare in mind that a lower end format will result in quality loss. The episodes floating around right now are high definition tv versions. Converting to anything lower than SVCD is a shame.

Not all DVD players handle all formats. You can look up your model here:

www.videohelp.com/ (http://www.videohelp.com/)

They have a list of every DVD player that is in existance or was. All supported formats are listed with a review of the player.

Some players will not play SVCD but will play VCD. You can fool your player to play the SVCD format which is far superior to VCD.

Again, the information to perform this trick is on the aformentioned site.

Wow, now that is what I call talent. I wouldn't mind having my own little copy :D . Are you doing this for each episode of the season, like putting 3 eps on each DVD?

Cheers!

Heya,

I wrote to your hush email account. But I don't know if you got it.

I really would love to get those first three episodes of Lost on DVD. It really is urgent. I'd need them before December as I'm taking them to my father in australia who was in Ep. 3.
Thanks,
