Paulo Not That Bad?

Does anyone else on the forum not completely hate Paulo (and Nikki, too)?

I quite enjoyed Paolo. The bathroom scene was an a hoot -- everybody else is looking about the hatch for clues, the toilet flushes and out pops Paolo with everybody staring at him. His line about the toilet still working was nicely idiotic given the circumstances. I think he'll be an entertainingly foppish character.

Instead of him saying that the plumbing works, I thought he was going to come out waving his hand in front of his nose and saying "whew! don't anyone go in THERE for a while!"

I'd join if
a) I was a man who was lusting for her (which, clearly, I'm not)
and
b) She didn't make those stupid comments when she was in the hatch (you know, about how you could turn the tv's on)

I don't hate Paulo, I'm just not judging him yet. Like I've said in other posts, If he hasn't had enough screen time why judge him so quickly? But so far, Yes I like him...........(there! I said it!)

I've always given Paulo (and Niki) the benefit of the doubt. Its annoying how much people hated them after like 2 lines.

Paulo isn't that bad really....people just hate him because he's had three lines that they would've rather have heard from Hurley.

I think it's just that people think everyone has to contribute to the group to be a good character. I love how just about most of the redshirts are probably like Paulo, you know the kind of "Bye Desmond, met you yesterday, go on adventure, might die, got it, putting golf balls in the sea... will piss jack off..." kind of attitude i think it just makes it a little more real that there's another kind of character like Claire, Bernard, Rose, who aren't all wandering off to save the others.

But i felt it was very unnatural that Nikki outsmarted Desmond, Locke and Sayid!

Which is why I don't like her at this point.
But who knows? Perhaps she'll redeem herself in upcoming episodes.

TPTB's rushed writing, throw them and hope people find them hot enough to keep them afloat. It'll be awhile before we really get a chance to know them.

I really didn't like either of them, but I guess I can see Paulo being less annoying than Nikki. Time will tell, but for now I wish neither of them were on the show.
