Will Eko get a funeral in the next episode? I'd be pissed if he didn't. I hope his death isn't brushed off and belittled because the story has to make way for setting up the Fall Finale.

He better. But I bt they brush it off, or make it overly-fast paced.

I'd prefer to have something cool happen in the little amount of time we have, than have everyone stand around and talk about Eko.
Maybe they'll have the funeral when we come back from hiatus... but for the "mini-finale" I really want each moment to count.
I'm not sure it'll be in the next episode because it's the big finale of thier arc. It's might be in February as the Losties have to deal with the danger Smokie presents to the community.

Maybe when they go back down in the hatch to finish investigating the body will vanish, like Yemi's. (Interesting we have Christian and Yemi havids, and Christian and Yemi missing dead bodies. We've dug up the marshall and Henry Gale, so people who are buried do seem to stay down.)

For some reason I'd been thinking the same thing about EKO's body vanishing before a real funeral service. I can't really imagine a traditional island funeral for EKO. His character seemed so larger than life, that just putting him in the ground might be a waste of a few mystical sightings in the future. :ghost2:
I'd love to see EKO appear to either Locke or Charlie since he seemed to have a connection to them both. Perhaps if TPTB do decide to re-visit the Baby Aaron storyline then EKO's spirit might provide a bit of wisdom or direction for Claire.:ghost2:

I hope they wrap it up quickly, but still have it just like they've had all of the funerals. Like, I hope they start the episode right before his funeral, i really don't wanna see them drag the body all the way back.
I'm still trying to figure out how they can make this finale interesting with only 40 minutes to go.

Funerals play an important part in the show. Some sort of deal (big or medium) has accompanied almost every death of a Lostie. With exception of the Others, Coleen was the only one we've seen have a funeral. Was Ethan left to rot away like Goodwin?
Hmm, a culture of death, (cause so many are dying) that has embraced religious symbology (be it viking, buddhism or catholism) while needing a fertility doctor and stealing children.
Of course they’re going to give him a funeral. They don’t know much about his dark past. To them he was a “Catholic priest”. Although Locke might question about Eko’s past when Eko put a knife to his neck. Mr. Eko was one of the coolest badass in this show along with Anna Lucia and Sawyer. It sucks ass that the former two had to die. He reminded me of the Marvel anti-heroe the Punisher when he took out those extortion thugs, Sawyer-Wolverine, and Anna Lucia-can’t think of female comic book hero right now.
