Funny thing crossed my mind today (meaning it has probably been talked about already). I find it a little weird that Eko would go out of his way to confess killing two men he didn't know to save his own life (to Ben in the hatch), yet felt it wasn't necessary to confess to killing men he didn't know to save his brother's life. Could this be the reason Smokey was angry? Because Eko didn't continue to follow the way to cleanse himself?

I don't have much additional thought on this, yet it won't get out of my thought process. Any thoughts?

Its possible that in his mind the sins were different. The 'Others' he killed, well thier actual motives were unknown to Eko, and he didnt know if they were really in fact good or bad. Where the guys he killed for his brother, well he knew they were bad, therefore he felt he commited no sin in his own eyes.

That could be the difference. I dont remember any mention of him taking a vow of silence for the rest of the people he killed.
