When Locke said they were going to bury Ecko in the jungle Desmond almost seemed suprised like his forsight already told him something else. I just thought his reaction was odd. Thoughts?

Odd? Other than the fact that he seems to have survived some kind of hatch implosion and now has both psychic powers and a kind of blank, expressionless look on his face, and he's burying a man he likely knows was killed by some kind of impossible to understand monster, why would anything about him seem odd?

I think he thought it was kinda rude for him not to be buried with the rest of the fallen Losties. Seemed like that to me. Why not bring him back and bury him with the rest of the group?

I just meant he seemed pretty suprised for a guy that spent all day buliding a lighting rod on a sunny day!

i've lost track of time, but I'm guessing we've progressed a day or so since the lightning rod experiment

He did seem odd and kind of quiet, but, really, that whole scene seem cobbled together. I understand it's purpose, but the meat of this episode was Lostville

I'd be surprised too if someone suggested just burying a member of the group out in the middle of the jungle. Maybe he was surprised at their laziness, not wanting to carry Eko back. He deserved better, but with Locke leading the group... that's what you get...

I dunno about Desmond, but in regards to burying Eko in the jungle...

I kinda thought it was appropriate to bury him there. I mean, a plane carrying his brother's body did crash there. And Eko did burn the plane with his brother's body (or did I imagine that?) so in a way that's where Yemi is laid to rest. (Neverminding the fact Eko said his body was missing, whole nother discussion there imo). So..it'd be like putting Eko to rest with his brother.

But maybe that's just me ::shruggs::

I would like to know what's goin' on in Desmond's mind now though. We saw Locke and Eko have an ep after the implosion. Surely can't be too far down the line til we get Desmond's...

Have you seen how big Eko is? I wouldn't want to carry him back either.

I think something either horrible or something that was impossible for him to comprehend happened to him when the hatch blew up. Perhaps he went to another time dimension?
