Kate and Sawyer do though, and they're gonna feel stupid running away. Unless they try to swim the gap?

Kate and Sawyer have two choices:

1. Run and try to swim across whilst keeping the radio held above the water so that they can radio back.

2. Tell Jack they can't because they're on a different island and he'll look a bit stupid. Jack's in trouble either way, if he saves Ben or not.

Seriously though, if they stop and think for a second they'd come to the obvious conclusion that the others were able to get them over to that island somehow. It stands to reason that if they run they may be able to find what ever means the others used to get them there. It's unlikely the others swam them over to the island so there must be a boat or something right?

They would have to think that they have an hour to run and find whatever transportation the others must be using to get back and forth and make good their escape. That is, if Kate and Sawyer are capable of coming to a rational conclusion. At all.

They do. They have a boat (season 1 finale; remember when they were Seabillies?) and a sub (mentioned in "The Cost of Living")

Edit: make that, they did have a boat. I forgot that Michael won it from them.

Yeah, but Kate doesnt know about any other form of Transportation, nor do they have any clue where any boat is. So running is moot, and they wont get anywhere.

It's wild, it's extreme, but:

Kate: Jack, we're on a second island about a mile from our island. We need a boat or something.
Jack: Okay. Zeke, lead them to the boat, or Ben dies.

If Alcatraz is small, it won't take them an hour to get to the marina.

I think they would run to White Castle (or insert THEIR favorite food joint). I know that's where I would go after being forced to live off of fish bicuits for days. Lord only knows what those things are made of (or TASTE like, despite what you would obviously think, based on their name and their shape)!

If they travel for an hour and stay on the island, they can probably circle it 3 times, if Ben can be beleived as to it's small size. If they figure a way off the island, ie: the sailboat or the sub, they are gonna make it a great distance. If this is the case, those little radios aren't going to be able to communicate. I know, because I have a set, and you're lucky got 100 yards, especially through dense vegitation.

So, given these "facts," I conclude they are heading for White Castle. The reason would be two-fold:

1. They would get a delicious warm meal, and,

2. They could use a pay phone (since their radios would be out of range of each other) to make a collect call (I know, if they don't have change to make a call, how do they pay for the food....I know, I never said my theory didn't have holes in it) to Jack so that Jack could put Ben back together. Man, wouldn't that be the BEST?? Sticking it to Dharma by making them pay for a collect call! Have you seen how much they charge for those things??

After Jack fixes all of Bens medical problems, Ben falls in love with him, as is not uncommon in these types of cases. Jack finally figures out what those strange groinal twinges he's felt his whole life are. He's figured out that he is gay, and the two start dating.

After a hot and steamy, but short lived romance, they end up separating to "see other people." This too, was short lived, and they eventually get back together. Jack convinces Ben to take them both back to Jacks hometown in the United States, where they get a cute little apartment together. Jack gets his job at the hospital back, and Ben gets a part time gig as a greeter at Wal Mart. The two of them live happily ever after, spending most of their spare time wathcing re-runs of the Red Sox run for World Series.

That is my theory and I'm sticking to it!

i think it's gonna be pretty simple. kate and sawyer knowing that they are actually on another island, will ask for a boat from the 'others', and will sail back to their 'home' island. from then they will plan with the other losties how to save jack, as they already knew how to go back to alcatraz.(if that is wad u pple call the home of the others)

Just speculating here guys, but has anybody thought that Alex (& possibly Karl, if he isnt dead) will have something to do with Sawyer & Kate getting of 'Alcatraz' and back to the main island?

I think the showtime given to the character of Alex in the fall finale ep means that she will play a larger role for the rest of series 3*. Maybe she knows a way off? Pickett even said "What is she doing here??" Which says something.

*Then TPTB can bring Danielle back into the story line with a long-awaited reunion between the two?? Sound too crazy to be true?

I think there is some kind of tunnel to Alcatraz, thats why the Others were suprised of Alex being on the island.

I also believe that Juliet really didnt know where Alex was when Ben asked it, I hope that Jack and Sawyer bump into her and she takes them to the Other village. ( or to the beach :( )
