Late....what does it mean? Jack and Kate only found L-A-T.
It was almost too late for Charlie....almost, but not quite. If they had found the last letter, E, he would have been dead. He would have died from his hanging. Charlie would be.....dead|I
Good observation Latin. I knew that his letters would have some message and was wondering if anyone noticed which ones were left behind. After seeing the episode again, you were right in your assumption!!!

I'm glad you agree. This is like the first time that someone has approved of one of my theories.

The first time I started thinking about why he put late instead of fate was after I read a post about how Backgammon is played and that there are only 5 peices for each side, the poster said that if they were spliting up into a backgammon type game then 4 people would have to die first in order to have the right number of peices, so I started thinking that dead people are referred to as "The Late" sometimes and that 4 survivors would have to die then after it showed Charlie write "Late" on his fingers it showed four more people, I thought maybe they were hinting at something, I'm probably way off, and I don't like the theory anyway because that would mean Locke and Claire would both die and they are my favorite characters, but I thought it might be worth posting.

I like your theory about "the late", but I soooooo do not want Locke to die!! I know someone that worked with Claire and she was a pain, so they ARE probably going to kill her off. Who were the other two people?
