Okay- was that the tail section of the plane, or was it the old plane- 16 years ago from the radio message? The coffin and such made me believe it was the same plane as the rest of the LOST folks were on, but it seemed to be very dirty and covered in vines. I watched on an HD tv and it looked old. Maybe it slid in under the vines. Also, the preview from next week looks like they find a skeleton form an old castaway.... which led me to think that it was the old plane.

And speaking of planes, did anyone else notice Jin standing in line next to Jack in his flashback to the airport scene with the coffin-on-the-plane discussion? They clearly showed him twice and I did not see Sun with him. I think she's some kind of mail order bride. Did you see the look she shot him when she thanked him for the water and he replied, "that's what husbands do." She didn't seem too keen on that response....

Yeah, I don't think the wet dolls would have remained un-designated for so many years. No, it had to have been the tail section of their own plane.

I think it's the tail section too, but that made me think... what about Rose's husband? Shouldn't he have checked for bodies? If Rose's husband was in the bathroom, there's a good chance he'd still be in there or close by.

On the other hand, maybe it wasn't the tail section, just the cargo section underneath.

There was some kind of "disturbance" in the jungle- like a rustling sound, right befor Jack found the other part of the plane. I thought surely he would look for other survivors, or that another survivor would come from behind the plane. Maybe one still will?

Oh, right, it could have been the cargo section. I only meant it had to be part of their plane...I couldn't tell you which part.

There are photos from the next episode that show both of them together in the airport, so I don't think she is a mail order bride.

Obviously we will find out more in the next show, as it focuses on them. Thats what I gather from the pictures.

Hey, now...I only saw the first words of your post: "there are photos from the next episode that show"...I think that should go in the spoiler section, no?

I doubt very much that the plane section that Jack found was from a different plane crash. The jungle tends to reclaim things over time, so there would be plant growth on them. The doll in the water would have had algae growing on it if it had been there a long time. The plane piece and other items would have shown vines or jungle growth on them if they had been there for 16 years.

It looked as though it was part of the new crash, although at first I got the impression it was from 16 years ago.

But how creepy is that, walking in the forest (with a stick burning like it had an oil resevoir to burn) following your dead father and coming across "chuckie's" little sister in the waterfall pool.

I would have screamed all the way back to the beach.

Guys,

That wasn't the tail in the woods. Yes, however, it was part of the Oceanic 777.

The wreckage we saw was most likely a small section of the aircraft, as we didn't see the tail with the Oceanic logo, or anything that resembled it. The coffin would've been in the cargo hold, so the "stuff" around it is from somewhere around the middle/back of the plane, but NOT the tail.

Sorry to drag your hopes down. But I strongly believe that wasn't the tail, nor were there any bodies or anything of the like around.

"Chuckie's Little sister":rollin :rollin

Hubby mentioned also that the stick seemed to be burning rather well and long for one he just grabbed out of the fire.

I can't see how the tail section could be on the island at all. If the nose section was inland, and the mid section was on the beach, this leads me to believe that the plane broke apart aproaching the island rather than over it. So with an aircraft travelling at several hundred miles per hour, even if the tail broke away mere minutes before the plane impacted, the tail section would have fallen miles off coast into the sea

This is funny, I thought I just posted this elsewhere :D

This thread was started by maxpublic to explain the hows and whys, and has an interesting discussion to boot:

It must have been a small piece of the underside of the front or mid section of the plane. I don't believe the tail section would have something as large as a coffin stored in it or under it.....

Oh yes of course - i didn't think that the nose would have drop BEHIND the mid section as it broke up. The wing/engine section would have travelled further. So it is possible the tail secrtion landed on the island as well,.

Thanks for the link;)
