Sorry I can't remember the actor's name. But he has a role in TNT's summer mini-series as the main character in his mature years.

I'm not sure but it also sounds like he is narrating the series from the point of view of the Wheeler family. Can anyone confirm this?

Yep, that's the same guy.

John Terry plays the Older Jacob Wheeler in "Into the West." His credits also include "24" (as Kate Warner's father) and "Full Metal Jacket."
