Desmond calls Pennelope 'Amy'...?

It has been a long time since I have participated !! Nice to be back! This episode has inspired me!!!
Did anyone else notice when Desmond was sitting on the beach after saving Claire (and Charlie), Claire came up to thank him. He was looking at Pennelope's picture. Claire asked who she was and he said 'Amy, I mean Pennelope' or something like that. Did anyone else catch that?

It reminded me at that point that what we are seeing in this episode is the past. Desmond's past to be specific. From this point on everything is Desmond's past. The only way he can 'see the future' is because it is actually his past!!!!

So what does calling her amy mean?
in the future does he learn that ...
-Amy is pennelope's real name? don't think so
-They leave the island together and change their names and live happily ever after? Maybe
-They have a child that looks like Pennelope that they name Amy? Maybe

Any thoughts?

I think he says "Penny - ah, Penelope". But welcome back, I like that enthusiasm. What else did you find interesting about the episode?

i am still intrigued by the fact that what we are seeing is the past. Evidenced by the fact that he is having these flash backs.

Well I am not sure if this is the correct place to post this but did anyone notice that in the picture of Desmond and penny from the second season penny has a white shirt on and in the picture they took in flashes before your eyes penny has a black shirt on. what could this mean?

But, if you check the pictures closer, you'll see they also changed the actress. It's been discussed and decided because TPTB wanted to include the character of Penelope in the series, they'd cast the part.
