I may be way out in left field, but I've seen a few connections between one of my favorite childhood movie and Lost.

For example:

The creature - The "nothing" in TNES.

They both share the same type of mysterious energy and connection to the people who see it and are affected by it.

Locke - The Luck Dragon, Falcore (wrong spelling)

They were both there to help people in life or death situations and lead them to safety.

That just came to mind, but I'll do a little more digging. Maybe "Lost" is a book that has or will find some connection with the outside world. While it probably will only have a four season run, it sure seems like a Never Ending story to me!

Great movie, but if the story never ended, why was there a sequel?

This is so late it's not pertinent anymore (well, if it ever *was* which I don't think...)

But "The Neverending Story" is a book. The movie producers chopped it in half to make the movie and then used the second half for the sequel. It lost A WHOLE LOT when they did that.

Apologies, couldn't leave well enough alone.
