Hey people,

I don't want to be slaughtered - I could be all wrong here, but I'd like to put it out there, still :)

First off, I got the feeling that Rosseau and Patchy new each other (I don't know if I'm the only one that felt that). To back this up, I'd argue that Patchy gave Rosseau some C4, or that she stole it from him, as we know that she had the means of blowing up her hiding-spot. I know she could've gotten dynamite from The Black Rock, but how would she know how to handle dynamite let alone trust that it wouldn't blow up in her face when it was just lying around her camp?

Yes, she could've gone to get the dynamite, but why would she then put the box back in the corner of the ship (and why would she put the lit back on?).

I know it's far out, but hey, I'm just guessing here :)

For my next attempt of theorizing, I'll bring Mr. Candle into the picture. When Locke is given the options after winning the chess game, the first thing Candle offers, is a pallet drop. If the pallet drops have to be initiated via the Flame Station, then Patchy must've done so back when the Losties got the food from above. This could also lead us to believe that he's not been there for that long, because maybe he thought the food would be dropped to him, and not the Swan. And if he DID know the food would be dropped at the Swan (maybe he has to enter which station needs a pallet), why would he purposefully drop food to the Swan?

Anyway, I'm just speculating, feel free to add to this or whatever :)

Cheers, and thank you all for posting so much! I read here every day!

As we saw before, Patchy had the ability to check out The Pearl station from the Flame. I assume that he also was able to check out the Swan, too. (Why Locke--who knew about both and the TV's/cameras, and looked right at a video camera didn't search out more observation equipment is beyond me). Anyway, I think Patchy knew that the Swan had been compromised, and told Ben, who then went down to check it out. Meanwhile, the food drops continued at Patchies command. Why? And from where?

Food drops: it's a 2-day hike from the Swan to the Flame. I'd posit that Patchy requests food drops for himself (and everyone else in otherville), and the Swan's food drops are independent.

On Danielle, I didn't get the impression she knew Patchy, though he likely knows who she is. But on her avoiding the house...I think she isn't so sure her dead teammates are all dead. Given what we've learned about Smokey, I'd venture she's met at least one of them strolling through the jungle. Ergo her avoidance of strangers.

Rosseau has to be tied to them. Think about it. She invades the Losties camp to steal Claire's baby, goes to the med station, captures and shoots Ben etc. all of a sudden she can't go to a building even though it may hold the key to her daughter. Then at the end she is telling Sayid to kill him and we think it is because she is worried about their safety, but it is probably like Mrs. Klugh rather die than captured.

I've always thought Rousseau was with the Others. It just makes so much frickin' sense. I think people deny it simply because she is more familiar and because of the distress signal, which could have been a plant by the Others - knowing the Losties would try to investigate. (Could the iterations of the signal have been forged to make the signal appear like it had been repeating for 16 years? I think so...)

Locke is playing The Island game. From his first flashback we've seen his inteest in games, he knew someone was watching him, but he thinks he can win.
He's not interested in quick victory he's having fun reaching his goal, he knows life and death hangs on what they do but that's what makes it so exciting, it's a living game, one he feels he can master.

The food drops are extremely important now, with the communcations station destroyed they may stop. We know the Losties have already eaten thier way through most the last drop, which wasn't meant for that many people, so food is going to be an issue soon.
The Other's themselves may have a problem, especially if thier power source has been cut off. How will they keep thier freezers going? They'll have to contend with the food trouble too, no more cheeseburgers. Not to mention all of the other ramifications to thier life style.
I don't think Danielle knew Patchy, but he seemed to be nervous about her. For all we know she could have hit or stumbled upon a Dharma storage unit and found C4 and weapons. It's clear she has a supply and knows how to use it. Which begs the question, how did a research scientist learn so much about explosives, guns, and traps?
