New to "Lost" and new to the board? Brimming with ideas and ready to burst? This is the forum for you! We know you’re anxious to jump right in and we don’t want you to lose your enthusiasm. We’ve designed this forum with you in mind – to get your bearings, and no, not with Sayid's faulty compass.
This forum has been created to absorb overflow from the Theories and Speculation forum. What this means is that if a theory HAS been discussed and you are a new poster, your thread will be moved HERE. That way, people can talk about it, agree, disagree, whatever, and possibly even point you to the place where it was discussed before.
This does NOT mean that new posters have to post HERE first and earn some kind of brownie points to post elsewhere. Just make an honest effort to search for evidence your theory was discussed -- and by all means if you have a new twist on an old idea, go for it. This means that you are just as entitled to post in T&S as the next person. But if you haven't done your homework, the thread will be moved HERE.
We offer this forum so you don’t get discouraged. We don’t like to close threads, but it is inevitable here, since we do not have unlimited bandwidth.
As you may or may not know, this forum is 18 months old so it's very likely that something you've come up with has been discussed. For that reason we encourage people to make use of the "search" function before posting.
That said, it is very difficult to formulate an original idea unless it’s with completely new material. We advocate reading the other forums before posting, but we know it’s impossible to digest it all and we are also aware how hard it is to sometimes find all the nuances of an idea. For this reason, we’ve created this forum so you can join the fray without fear your first idea will be shot down in under five minutes. You can post your thoughts and discuss them here without the competition of ongoing discourse in other forums.
The moderators will be very forgiving in this forum, but if your thread is not moved back to T&S, please don’t take it personally.
Please read the posting guidelines for Theories and Speculation and for the other forums.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask any of the moderators.
