I don't know how many of you folks in General Discussion or Theories listen to or are interested in the Damon & Carlton Podcasts-------BUT IF YOD ARE ONE WHO CHECKS THEM OUT---the newest one is way above average.

They actually straightforwardly answer key questions regarding Mikhail, DHARMA, the Others, knowledge or lack of knowledge of the Swan Station on the part of the Others.

If you are interested, you should really consider checking this one out.

Be careful though...they do mention a few minor things that could be considered spoilers about upcoming episodes...who's getting a flashback, things you may see, etc. You can usually spot them coming though and mute it for a sec. That's what I do.

SYITNL is right, they actually pretty straightforwardly answer a few questions....

yeah rvt....I was STUNNED at the straight forward responses to the kinds of questions that I would have asked.

Now, if only they had asked how come Tom quoted Alvar Hanso (if he isn't a former DHARMA person).

That was the most blunt podcast ever! Although I was disappointed to hear about the upcoming episode (not tonight's) and who it features, at least a whole bunch of other ambiguous questions were definitively answered. I'm thinking that they are clarifying things that they would hope we would assume on our own. Things that they no longer consider mysteries, but they still are mysteries, because we have learned that we must question everything in this show. Or is that really the case? We've had major suprises & bombshells, but I think we are taking things like Easter Eggs too seriously. Maybe we shouldn't be questioning every little thing we see.

Then again, you have them disagreeing on whether or not...

Mikhail is actually dead. So that is still up in the air. How you can have blood pouring out of someone's ears, yet they remain alive is beyond me, but then again, I'm no Jack Shepherd. Damon says he's dead, Carlton says he believes he is not dead.
...I hate how they act like they truly do not know!!! I realize they do this to mess with our minds and keep us guessing on certain things, but its still annoying.

I need to just quit complaining, and just enjoy the dang show already! :rolleyez:

That is the first podcast I have heard all the way through. VERY interesting stuff. Not very spoilerish, but definately confirms a lot. Scary to think how much ****** and ****** actually will play into the show.

They were just goofing on everyone. They both know Damon was right.

It is 30 minutes long. And I think it takes a long while for someone to get PODCAST transcripts up. But its not something you must watch. It is something you listen to.

I don't like 'em either, but it's not too bad. I'll try and post a transcript of what I think is relevant after lunch...the Mikhail comments, the Ben comments, etc. Someone else is welcome to do the whole thing, though...

Here's my transcript of most of the podcast...be warned, while I did leave out most mentions of things that may appear in upcoming episodes, there is at least one still in there that may be spoilerish, but it was a part of the answer to a question about Ben and the Swan, so I left it in. It's not too bad, considering they answer the question itself...

Damon: We like it cuz there's gun play.
Carlton: And answers. You should actually believe everything that Mikhail says, other than the fact that he says that he was a member of the DHARMA Initiative, correct?

Damon: Yeah, well he is pretending to be a member of the DHARMA Initiative but everything that he says about the Others is --while he's pretending to be a member of the DHARMA Initiative is true -- so...or at least he believes it to be. It's all perspective, I guess.

Carlton: Right. But he is not intentionally misleading them when he is downloading all the information that he downloads to them about the inter-relationship between the DHARMA initiative and the Others.

Damon: And we learn what the DHARMA Initiative called the Others. Which is not the Others.

Carlton: The Hostiles.

Damon: That's right. Which is something we heard Kelvin say in the finally last year, in fact.

Carlton: That's right. And will there be more about the Hostiles coming up?

Damon: The Hostiles, AKA the Others? Yes I think there might be. And Carlton will there be more about the DHARMA Initiative?

Carlton: Uh, a lot more.

Damon: This is not the definative closing text of the DHARMA Initiative is it?

Carlton: No. Not -- Not even close, i would dare say.

Damon: This Purge that Mikhail referred to...what what's that about?

Carlton: It appears that in some form or manner --

Damon: Is that like when you eat a lot of junk food then you feel really guilty like that Meredith Baxter Birney TV movie?

Carlton: Kinda like that. Only people get killed in this circumstance.

Damon: oh right.

Carlton: And those people tend to be members of the DHARMA Initiative.

Damon: Wow, so there was a purge--

Carlton: There was a purge and the Others wiped out the DHARMA Initiative, I think we're led to believe.

Damon: But Mikhail seems to indicate that it was a defensive measure. That it was kill or be killed.

Carlton: yeah, so do you think that we'll be learning more about what the specifics of that are?

Damon: I hope so because I..I'm confused.

Carlton: Yeah, it's not really enough yet about the purge.

Damon: It's not definitive. I think we've heard on man's recollection of it.

Carlton: right.

Damon : I would like to hear a couple of other points of view.

Carlton: yeah. Well good. I think we should do that.

Damon: History is written by the winners. That's what they say.

Carlton: That is definately true.

Damon: Which is why we won't be writing any history any time soon. Cuz we're losers.

Carlton: So talk about that ending of the episode with Jack playing football with Mr. Friendly. Has Jack joined the Others?

Damon: Well, I don't know. You're not gonna throw a--catch a football by someone you don't like are you?

Carlton: Is that why you don't throw a football to me?

Damon: That is why I never throw a football to you, yes.

{falls into story about footballs and the writing staff}

Damon: ...and Eddie has not joined the Others, over in New Othertown (New Otherton).

Carlton: That's right.

Damon: Which is what we affectionately refer to as the place where Kate, Jack and --sorry Kate and Sayid and Locke are currently crouched down in the woods watching. They're probably just gonna turn around and leave now though, right, I mean why would they --

{not transcribed by me--slightly spoilerish for future episodes}

Q & A:

Q: Why is Locke being an A-hole to his friends -- hiding the C4 and not discussing things with Kate and Sayid. What is his problem lately?

A: Carlton: I think that it's kind of apparent that John Locke is following the beat of a different drummer I would say. And that different drummer may be his own self.

Damon: Wow.

Carlton: And uh--

Damon: So you think he's-- there's a method to all these crazy things that he's doing?

Carlton: I do think there is. I think that Locke has kind of that it's time to think about John Locke.

Damon: I'm a little bummed that he killed Mikhail though, cuz I kinda liked Mikhail. I'm just -- that's me editorializing.

Carlton: I don't know. I'm not, i don't know, I don't know if you could say definitavely that he killed Mikhail.

Damon: really?

Carlton: I mean...

Damon: Watch: "He killed Mikhail." I just said it.

Carlton: Well...I don't know. I'm not sure I agree. That's all I'm saying.

Damon: Alright. Well, we agree to disagree.

Carlton: Okay. can I ask you a question, Damon?

Damon: You may.
{chatter about username and # of posts user had}

Q: are they reallly on an island?

A: Damon: Yes.

Carlton: Good. Okay.

Damon: Any thing else?

Carlton: No that's it.

{chatter about question being direct}

Q: Loved both of them as Others. Danny and Bea.

Damon: Danny and Bea, okay.

Carlton: (reading rest of question) I loved Pickett's character. I thought he was used well and we got to find out more about him. Did however feel a bit shafted that you brought Mrs. Klugh back in Enter 77 only to kill her off. Will we learn more about these two through flashbacks later in the season?

Damon: Well, you never know when someone--well the beauty of Lost is when someone dies, they they they they're they're dead. But that doesn't mean that they won't show up in our memory. And uh...Ms Klugh is certainly and interesting character as is Pickett who had a relationship with Colleen who also died. So--what's very interesting is there's a whole 'nother show going on that nobody's watching, which is --

Carlton: Dead Lost.

Damon: which is -- yeah. Which is that the Others are getting picked off -- are really dying at a really rapid rate as a result of our people being on the island. So...it's sort of a sad one..

Carlton: There are a lot of dead Others aren't there?

Damon: Yeah but that's what happens when you hide in a rack full of DHARMA jumpsuits and you jump out and you attack Kate. You know?

Carlton: Yeah, that's not good.

{random jokes about hiding places}

Q: Damon and Carlton, could the sonic fence surrounding the fence really be all that effective? I mean I think it's possible to kill someone with soundwaves but to have--

Carlton: HA! This person is promoting my theory that Mikhail might not be dead. I'm sorry. I'm interrupting.

Damon: Just listen. I think it's possible to kill someone with soundwaves but to have it localized enough to not kill bystanders would seem to have one major flaw. Why couldn't someone just run through it without stopping. It seemed to take several seconds to kill Patchy, so if you ran through and got out range, you'd be fine...right?

Carlton: Wow. that's kinda one of those questions that you just can't answer without like --it's like "do you always beat your wife?" I mean...No. I guess not.

Damon: No. Is the answer to that question. Do you?

Carlton: The answer is no. you only beat her sometimes.

Damon: Here's how i would look at the issue of the sonic fence, wife beating aside. is that I wouldn't be doing experiments to find out how it worked and how it didn't work. Like if you ran through it really fast maybe...

Carlton: It's like if you ran through a flaming building would you catch on fire. It's kinda kinda not a good idea just to start, just as a basic tenant. And i think actually, who's to say the sonic fence was turned up full volume when it hit Mikhail. Maybe if the sonic fence was at a more intense level it would have fried Mikhail right when he went through. That's why I don't think he's dead because -- in my belief had the sonic fence been turned on to full, Mikhail gone through there, he would have been instantly pulverized by the soundwaves.

Damon; alright. well if he's not dead, I'm gonna stay tuned, cuz already mentiond that I like him.

{several Q/A not transcribed by me--possibly spoilerish for future episodes}
Q: Did the Others or Hostiles know about the Swan station and about the number pushing or does it not not matter to them if it imploded?

Carlton: I think this is a fair question to answer.

Damon: It is a very fair question. I don't think they did know.

Carlton: Yeah.

Damon: i don't think they knew about the existence of the Swan station. For one, Kelvin is down there continuing to push the button even before Desmond comes for all that time. Well after we know that this purge allegedly occurred. And the Others have completely left him alone, so...if they do know about it--

Carlton: It might make some sense to, that if the--if there was an incident in the Swan station and there was this electromagnetic anomaly, and this sort of Chernobyl kind of circumstance there, the DHARMA guys wouldn't want a lot of other people to know about it. I mean that would be a definite 'need to know basis' because of that kind of circumstance, wouldn't it?

Damon: yeah. it would. And we know that in the pearl station they monitor the Swan station, so it's possible that the Others found out about the Swan station once the Oceanic survivors show up. Once Locke found the Hatch. It's possible that they were able to check it out. But...I don't know. Maybe we'll be finding out about that in the next couple of weeks, Carlton?

Carlton: Uhhhhh...we might. we might learn a little bit more about that.

{conversation slips into possible spoiler material about upcoming episodes}

Carlton: I think there knowledge of the Swan was pretty limited. I think when Ben came over there and saw that these people were pushing a button every 108 minutes I think his scepticism was genuine.

Damon: I agree.

Carlton: Alright. I think that was pretty good...

{inane chatter ends it}
